PS3/PS4 Dev Kit spotted in Titanfall interview?

Why a premium studio like Respawn wouldnt have PS3/PS4 Devkits? This doesnt mean nothing. To me, it is non-news.

I don't doubt the game will come to PS4 later though.

I thought it was pretty telling when they didn't mention Xbox at all during the Gamescom presentation last week and simply said "the next generation".

But that, like this, could be just reading too much into things. It's a still shown when they're talking about back when they were starting the project and they didn't know what kind of game they were going to make. From the way the video's edited, it looks like all the stills are from when the studio was only founded, so I don't think this is proof of anything like a PS3/PS4 version of Titanfall.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.
Anyway, the blurred object can't be a PS4 devkit since those look much different than the retail unit:

Yeah, there's no reason for that controller to be laying around.

Has a game ever gone from timed exclusive, to non-exclusive before launch?

Lol imagine the outrage if the game was delayed for the XBOXes and launched simultaneously for all consoles due to poor xb1 sales performance.

Titanfall was never confirmed to be anything but timed exclusive.

I'm honestly beginning to wonder if it's even that. Could MS have just paid to put a muzzle on any marketing/announcement for PS platforms? I imagine the cost to keep the game off of PS3 would have been quite high.

I am sure some would but I would rather it come out on more platforms so it sells well and they keep making it! I am sure between 360, PC and One it will do fine but they may as well add PS users into the mix as well!

They've called it a "next gen console exclusive debut" for Xbox One, so I think it's definitely a timed exclusive.

They put that in the camera shot in purpose. They know what people want and so do EA.

Wondering just how locked down it is if they keep giving out nudges here and there

That picture in question could be like 2 years old. Right? So I wouldn't jump to conclusions. But I still believe we see titanfall on ps4 someday. Or atleast titanfall2 year later.

I honestly don't think that's a PS4 dev kit... For them to take a still image and manually blur it out to use in this video knowing what would happen if something was leaked before hand is too great of a risk!! Why even go through that trouble. But again I have no idea. I think it's either a photo of his family or some kind of brand that they wanted to blur out. Besides that's a DS3 on his desk not a DS4. Maybe he's testing the PC version with a DS3 for compatibility issues. OR maybe he just plays PS3 on his monitor... We did that all the time at my job.

So are people generally interested in the game or just wanting to take away a xbone exclusive?

I am getting both a xbone and a ps4 and I have little interest in the game.

i would not read much into it (though i believe it's timed exclusive until MS buys the studio). They just showed a picture and commented saying smthing in the sense of "we were evaluation what to do". So let's say they were just playing around a lot to see what they could create.

This game is obviously coming to the ps4. EA will not get COD level sales on one platform, they need to have it available on everything for that to happen.

The official press release for the announcement didn't say it was exclusive. I'm not saying they haven't said it, but I just can't seem to find it except where the media makes that assumption.

Edit: Actually nevermind, the title on the press release mentioned exclusive.

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) and independent videogame developer Respawn Entertainment today revealed the world debut of Titanfall™, the studio's inaugural title. Crafted by one of the co-creators of Call of Duty and other key developers behind the Call of Duty franchise, Titanfall is among the most highly anticipated of E3 2013, having been shrouded in mystery for nearly three years. The visionaries at Respawn have drawn inspiration from their proven experience in first-person action gaming, and are building on that pedigree by taking a new approach to game design and creating an all-new universe with Titanfall. The game is entirely multiplayer, in a new experience that combines fast-paced multiplayer action with the heroic set piece moments traditionally found in campaign mode. Set in a distant frontier torn apart by war, players will have the freedom to switch between fighting as elite assault Pilots or agile, heavily armored, 24-foot tall Titans. To see the announcement trailer for Titanfall, please visit the game's official web site www.titanfall.com.

"It's an exciting time in the industry and it feels like the perfect time to be unveiling Titanfall," said Vince Zampella, a Co-Creator of Call of Duty and Co-Founder of Respawn Entertainment. "Our passion at Respawn is games and we are focused on bringing something exciting to kick off the next generation of software."

The universe of Titanfall juxtaposes small vs. giant, natural vs. industrial and man vs. machine. The game drops players into a conflict between the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) and the Militia as elite Pilots. With the ability to shift back and forth between pilot and Titan, players will have the freedom to change tactics on the fly, attacking or escaping depending on the situation. Titanfall Game Director Steve Fukuda added, "In addition to infusing the multiplayer experience with cinematic flavor, we've been rethinking fundamental combat and movement in the genre. Titanfall is unique in the way that it places equal emphasis on two drastically different and new ways to move and fight in a first-person shooter. The intersection of the two is a big part of what give Titanfall its iconic identity."

Available spring 2014, Titanfall will be available for Xbox One®, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PC and Xbox 360® games and entertainment system from Microsoft The Xbox 360 version of Titanfall is in development at an external development studio with support from Respawn. For more information on the game, please visit www.titanfall.com. Follow the game on Twitter at www.twitter.com/titanfallgame or Facebook at www.facebook.com/titanfallgame. Just getting a PS4 here and I'm very interested in the game. Really wish it would release on PS4 when it releases on X1.

So an EA published game, from the makers of COD, that appears to basically be the next COD, and no one has said it's definitely an Xbone exclusive. See you on PS4 in a year.

Gametrailers: "Is the PlayStation Nation gonna have to wait for TitanFall?"

Zampella: "That's right."

Its a Timed Exclusive.

That's what CBOAT said, but I don't think we've heard "officially."

Didn't Ken Levine say Bioshock 1 was an Xbox exclusive, until 2 months before the PS3 version was announced?

I have a feeling this will be the same thing with Titanfall.

I'm interested. It's the only Xbox One exclusive I care about.

Obviously just a timed exclusive, they even said that they weren't ruling it out.

Exactly.

Let's put it plainly: will PlayStation owners ever see Titanfall?

"It's definitely not out of the question," Emslie replied. "We have a huge appreciation for the fans. Coming out and showing it to everybody, we're super nervous and wanted to make sure everybody loved it. We love all our fans, whatever console they support.

"So yeah. We want to make everybody happy, but this is where we're at right now."

Microsoft will surely want to renew the exclusivity. By the end of 2014, both next gen platforms will still have a small userbase, so I can see the deal lasting for more 1 or 2 years.

I don't have any hopes to see this game on my PS4 radar soon like you guys expect. Luckly, we will be able to play this game on PC. Unfortunataly, I guess it will remain origin exclusive forever though.
