That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.
So I own only episode one of King's Quest. Is there no way for me to acquire the epilogue now?

Thanks for the Faerie Solitaire tip guys...the basic is just like Fairway Golf but they throw in a lot of little extras as you progress that are cool for a Solitaire game...at 1 buck I picked it up and started playing a bit before bed last night and stopped an hour and a half later lol... ;)

You did good.

Age of Decadence, I've hovered over the buy button so many times before. Still unsure if I should go for it or not. I do love cRPGs but there is just something about this i'm apprehensive about that i cant put my finger on.

Also is TF: The fall of cybertron any good? Im going to get deception, not sure if that will be enough of a Transformers fix or if I should get Cybertron too.

It's a decent old school transformer-based game. It's not ground breaking, but it's fun and competent

Fall of Cybertron is good and has both Autobot and Decepticons scenarios
In fact get both the TF Cybertron shooters AND Devestation, they're all pretty good.

I obviously can't tell you wether or not the thing you are apprehensive about is or isn't a big issue since I don't even know what it is, but age of Decadence is definitely one of the best CRPGs in the last decade.

It's the kind of game where your skills matter.

It's the kind of game where your decisions matter.

It's well written, occasionally funny, features an incredibly intruiging world whose secrets you'll need to uncover over the span of multiple playthroughs. It's hardly possible to see the really cool moments let alone all of them in your first playthrough. That said, a single playthrough stays between 2 and 12 hours depending on your decisions and skill builds, making it a great game for an occasional playthrough every once in a while.

The combat is very challenging and unless you have a character who is skilled through and through for combat you're going to be laying dead on a roadside right after your first fight.

It's the kind of game where saying the wrong thing at the wrong time can be deadly, where you sometimes just need to take the L and leave the mean bandits with your tail between your legs.

It's an absolute must play for CRPG fans imho

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is amazing! You often switch between Autobots and Decepticons - sometimes even during missions. If you're unsure, just watch this scene and then proceed to buy the game:

While I'm not overly fond of the War for/Fall of Cybertron games, they are pretty good games and you could do a lot worse. Though short, Transformers: Devastation is fantastic. I don't think you have to be a fan of character action games either to appreciate it. I really wish we could get a sequel to it but I don't think it sold all that well, across any of the platforms it released on. :(

For that Transformers fix, echoing Tizoc, I agree that it's worth getting all three.

PayPal's £5 off Steam sale offer reminds us to always read the small print

PayPal has ended its eye-catching £5 off £20 spent on the Steam sale voucher because the offer reached its cap.

PayPal made a song and dance about the offer in a note to press that also revealed the start date and time of this summer's Steam sale.
The idea was UK customers who spent £20 or more at Steam would also receive £5 off the purchase when paying with PayPal. The company's press release said the offer would expire on 5th July, alongside the Steam summer sale.
It turns out, the offer expired a lot sooner than planned - in fact it expired a day after it launched.

So what happened? PayPal's £5 offer reached its cap, which means the aggregate monetary amount credited to customers reached £45,000. In other words, this offer was only available to the first 9000 customers.

The problem was, this detail was buried within the small print of the terms and conditions on PayPal's website, so most people didn't notice the cap. So, more than a few customers didn't realise they needed to act fast with making the most of the offer. They thought - quite rightly - that they had until 5th July to redeem the £5 off voucher.

I can't wait to explore Florence and other parts of Italy! I got my gear, my hidden blade and an awesome villa from uncle Mario!

So many mechanics that weren't in the first one already. Like throwing coins, sending prostitutes to distract guards, hiring thieves to help you out, removing posters to lower your notoriety, and I assume I will be able to upgrade the market in Monteriggioni.

I was thinking of grabbing Call of Cthulhu but I'm reading lots of accounts of it being buggy as hell and crashing all the time.

Anyone had any positive experiences with it? I'm on a bit of a Lovecraft binge at the moment, so it's looking pretty appealing.

I revived and killed an old god but since I was a piece of shit to everyone, nobody believed me and I ended up a lonely drunk.

Someone asked it a few pages back but it wasn't answered.

I'm interested in Darkest Dungeon. Is the DLC important or can I just get the base game and the DLC later if I'm enjoying the game?
I believe I asked that. I only got the base game since the dlc isn't on sale and I've been having a blast with it. First night I bought it played for 4 hours. I'll probably pick up the dlc later on, the base game looks to have a lot of content as it is.

the DLC changes / adds to the main game, so if you want to play DD you might aswell do it with the Crimson Court now, because to play the dlc you would have to do it all over again anyway.

At least thats how I understand it.

If that's the case might as well get it now. I'll have to look into it. I wouldn't want to start over.

Can't speak to the performance, but it's fantastic and one of my favorite games of that generation. For a dollar, it's probably worth buying.

You can look here for solutions for possible bugs/glitches, which should help you avoid most of the common problems on modern systems:

I had the weirdest sensation when playing Devil Daggers: it makes me feel sick. This is something I have never experienced before when playing a game (not tried VR) regardless of FOV and frame rate. I really like the game but it is playing havoc with me; I hope this isn't a downward spiral...

I have to try and get back into the game. I loved it to begin with but each subsequent area went downhill and I abandoned at the casino level.

You would think after a couple years Pillars of Eternity may have a better sale than $17.99 for once. I see there's a ton of negative reviews because they raised the price right before the Steam Sale. That's too bad. They promised to drop it after the sale, but I'm not sure that means we will see a better sale any time soon either. I may go for it anyway. If there's one thing I want from the Steam Summer Sale, it is a great RPG experience. I've been putting off Pillars of Eternity for too long...

Are you even at a region affected by the increase? It's 17.99 euros for me in Finland. The price increases didn't hit here.

Pssst. Check out Wasteland 2! Not nearly highly regarded as PoE. But personally I loved it and I feel many overlook it because Obsidian and Larian overshadow it. Still a great CRPG experience.

I kinda want Pillars. I have Divinity which I put a bunch of hours into but not enough to leave the starting area.. maybe I should just play that and leave Pillars for later. But I keep reading that Pillars has the better story.
Yeah from what I've gathered, Pillars for the story and Divinity for the combat. Only played Pillars myself so far. Might be picking up the Divinity: OS CE since it gives you two copies so I can gift it to my co-op buddy.

The Shadowrun series is pretty cool isn't it? I really like the aesthetic of the world. Is Returns pretty good? They have the bundle for like $8 for all of them on steam. I have Dragonfall but haven't played it yet.

Shadowrun series is one of the best written CRPGs in a decade. Well, 2 & 3 are but 1 is still worth checking out (play that first though since you won't come back to it after Dragonfall/HK) and you can play it in the Dragonfall engine. The price is a bargain!

Pillars has a better story, better characters and much worse combat. Divinity has a much better combat system (especially around magic) and quite a bit better sense of humor.

If you haven't played Dragonfall yet, then you might as well save the money. :) It's regarded as the best one, and the rest are on sale all the time, so there's no need to let them pile up until you feel you actually want more.

Returns is more like an interactive cyberpunk-noir story, basically a feasibility study for the engine and the Shadowrun setting. It's entertaining, but the devs really cranked it up to 11 in Dragonfall. Honestly, the jump from Returns to Dragonfall is massive. Hong Kong is also really good, but whether you like it more than Dragonfall or not depends on how much you like the characters of both games.

I'd say go for all three and play them in order of their releases.

I just picked up Dragonfall and I'm not opposed to grabbing the other two. But really how necessary is the first one?

Sounds good. I'll probably give it a shot tonight. I think I'll wait for the DLC, I don't mind replaying it after a year if I enjoy it.

Unless the expansions changed something, I dunno that I'd give Pillars the nod over anything for its story. It's overwritten, the twist is truly awful, and the backer NPCs kneecap any attempt at immersion. (Excepting the Vulture. He is amazing.) And yeah, I know that part of the problem was a lack of time in the editing room; I hope PoE2 gets that kind of polish.

I feel like Tyranny was what PoE was supposed to be. Less combat, more dialog, with a much bigger focus on factions and roleplaying, basically.

Returns is mediocre-to-bad, but the writing is still OK. The sequels are vastly, vastly better in every respect, and among the best RPGs on the PC.

That said, if you want to play the full series, I recommend playing Returns first. It will be very difficult to go back to otherwise. It's not that the stories are interconnected in any important way, but more that it's a good excuse to live through more delicious Shadowrun lore. (It is a really incredible setting!)

Yeah... this price increase hit at a bad time. For brief periods during the sale I figured I'd get the PoE expansions, and Cities: Skylines expansions... and then I remembered who published them. Which killed those dreams dead.

Returns is completely unnecessary, aside from a few throwaway references. Playing it is a matter of completeness at this point, more than anything.

Bought Edith Finch and TWD season 3. Not sure what else to get, have my eye on Nier but the discount isn't great. There's also Dishonored 2, but I've been meaning to finish the first game for a while now, I can't just jump into the second game can I?

It's not necessary by any means and if your time is limited go ahead and start with Dragonfall, but it's rather short (~12-13 hours) and it gets the job done getting you in the right mood for the setting and letting you appreciate Dragonfall even more.
