I gave in and set up my 3d, but it's not working in-game... disabling Exclusive Fullscreen disables 3d too! What do!?

And queue the mindless hate by the guy who bought the game even though he knew what to expect.

Really, after all the reviews, we knew this already. It isn't even a valid complaint if we consider every single fucking videogame does it. I would prefer action with no real threat than boring ass mollasses river that was Okami, FF13 or the new Zelda game.

I feel like the first hour sets the mood up nicely. Shit is fucked up, and you have no choice to survive.

And that's where you're wrong.

I honestly think it is an akward argument, considering how modern videogames are made. Isn't any videogame interaction ever the exact same thing? Eating a shit-ton of bullets, pressing 'A' to avoid a game over screen? I don't see how this game is doing anything different...

Ok, I need to get this game.

Some of the death scenes for failing the QTEs are hilariously awesome.

I only saw one so far but it was pretty funny. Makes me want to die on purpose to experiment.

Game looks amazing by the way. Got texture quality and detail quality on ultra and everything else on high.

Just because these are modern game design choices doesn't make them good design choices.

Being rewarded with XP for succeeding in a bunch of QTEs is the epitome of hand holding game design.

Oh and friendly tip for everyone... Pretend that Survival instinct doesn't exist in the game.

LOL I am kinda with Derrick. The beginning part is kind off hilarious. As messed up as that sounds, if you really do not get affected by the thrill the game wants to make you feel, you just sit and laugh through it. Game looks nice. Feels great too.

Yeah I have to agree with you. But no one was expecting Dark Souls Prepare to Croft edition either. I know there must be a sweet spot between the hand holding and the punitive freedom, this game just couldn't afford to take any more risks than it is already taking.

I hope this game will sell well enough to give CD enough freedom to explore a more mature approach to handling the QTEs and "action" sequences. I don't mind them much as some of you guys, but it is getting old.

And that's where you're wrong.

Bullshit - Fallout:New Vegas, the game you're constantly tongue-bathing (and I do mean CONSTANTLY), gives you experience early on for just filling out your character info and selecting your perks at Doc Mitchell's place.

There seriously needs to be a macro that just sends your posts directly to @NEOGafShitPosts.

Well loving the game so far, but I just hit the 19 hour mark of being awake. I need sleep. Will play and post more tomorrow. Night all.

As much as I love them the new Fallout games are kings of giving you XP for doing next to nothing. Tomb Raider gives you XP for stupid stuff early on but it dies down a lot as you get into the game. Same with QTEs in general.

oh no 1 time in a 100 hour game! Meanwhile I've counted at least 4 times that I've been rewarded a relatively healthy sum of xp for QTEs or watching cutscenes so far.

Is it a huge deal? Not really, it just proves how pointless adding a XP and skill system was to this game so far. When you're constantly rewarded with XP for doing everything it can devalue the system if it's not spaced out accordingly.

Anyway I guess I'll hold off on commenting on the game too much until I'm done since it seems to make some of you get so whiny and pissy.

gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous game in action. tressfx running and everything on high at 60FPS (tesellation off). I'll try ultra tomorrow

Weird nit pick but they forgot to add TressFX hair effects for the digital recordings that Lara finds. Man the difference is staggering, I can't go back to previous gen hair!

Regardless of some of the cheap game design decisions, this game is just awesome. The island/atmosphere is forboding and eerie, and Lara animates beautifully. Believable character at that. The QTE stuff isn't bad, and is usually accompanied by some intense action. I can understand the complaints with the XP stuff, but I don't mind it immensely. I'm just really hoping the game continues it's dark and dreary atmosphere. Good stuff.

Now they just need to fix Tesselation.

Game is alright so far. The intro was a bit too guided for my tastes, but it's opened up a bit now and it's pretty engaging. The QTEs suck. The cutscenes have been absolutely eye-rolling so far though, the goofy "everybody hates Lara" camcorder scene was completely devoid of tension. I do like Lara though, even if she does talk to herself way too much.

Game looks great on PC. Crashes galore though, holy moly. Game wasn't really ready, methinks.

Lara moves and jumps around like an agile cat. I like it even though it looks super human at times it makes her control way better than Nathan Drake.

This section with the wolves would be kind of tense if the game didn't slow down to make it easy to get headshots.

I've been playing for an hour with no crashes. GTX 570, turned tesselation and shampooFX off, though.

Game looks amazing .

The game definitely opens up after you beat that awful scripted area at the start that the PR loved to showcase at events. The atmosphere in the island is staggering, among the best in the generation especially the part where you are in the forest hunting animals.

This is a good game. I am a bit tired to marathon this right now but tomorrow after work I will go balls deep in the game.

Loving the game so far, only an hour in, but the atmosphere really is phenomenal, and Lara controls better than Nathan Drake could dream of. What some of us called torture porn from the trailers actually feels like it fits in the game, which surprised me.

If it makes you feel better..the upgrades you get are actually completely worthless ...except for getting more items...which you can spend on pointless upgrades.

So yes it was a bit of a waste and turning off the notifications is a much needed patch item. But I guess they needed to add something so that collecting the 5 unicorn testicles in the area seems like a good way to spend your time. Luckily the game picks up in other areas before the illusion really wears off.

Has anyone had any issues installing this? It stops at 541mbs and doesn't go higher. It then wants me to download the rest.

And my internet it too slow for me to easily download 7gbs.

You guys care too much about Derrick's opinion. . .

He makes people go crazy in OT's.
Cant really blame when people start to arguing and then the whole thread about his posts. I have been pretty much just lurked this thread but all I see is negatives, not to say its bad but if you feel that way before maybe shouldve not decided to play the game at all. Thats my 4 cents. Lol.
