I can't believe people don't want more storage and are willing to defend stupidity.
I can't believe people will take more storage over more tech in the controller.

Storage gives me more games, zero fucks given about a vibrator gimmick.
That some people prefer digital for their portable systems? Not exactly a big revelation.
This is no longer a discussion. Sorry, but Nintendo has labeled it a console (well, a hybrid, but still). The product stands with console like features, and thus, it acts as one when you dock it. If you want to play cute and say "oh it's only a tablet or whatever", that still doesn't undermine my overall point which is that some consumers might not like this because it costs them more.
This isn't even a discussion about what I was originally stating. Nor is it concern trolling. But I'll leave you both to play semantics or whatever in the corner. Have fun!
What, really?
If you think an extra 32 or even 96 GB of flash memory is anywhere near $100 with the type of buying power Nintendo has than I have a few things I want to sell you. I assure you the prices are very fair.Yeah and that would of been 400 dollars.
Find me one 500GB game from either of those systems. Hell, find me two games that take up 500GB and force me to buy more memory. I'll wait!
Storage gives me more games, zero fucks given about a vibrator gimmick.
It's Nintendo, expect defense for anything and everything.

Uhh actually it's the "gimmick" that has been giving us more games. No one is forcing you to go digital.
Then buy an SD card. And if you don't like that, then go and buy a PS4. It's not like Nintendo really cares about a type of consumer like you, that's not what the Switch is geared towards.
Physical standard. Digital indies. Hopefully my 128GB SD won't fill up too fast.
The gimmick isn't giving anything, and when Nintendo left my country they basically did the latter.

Have we confirmed that the retail game cards don't require any installs whatsoever?

Not everyone wants to do that, nor should they have to spend more money on a SD card if they want to go digital.
Like I said, DQH is two games in one, so fair play, but it remains to be seen if other games can fit without needing to buy another card.
I don't think I ever downloaded a game that took up too much room on the card provided, to be honest. Not even Smash or BD.

That sure worked fine for Nintendo Wii U. And guess what? I actually bought another PS4 after the Switch reveal and subsequent weeks.

You're ignoring the teardown thread and just what Nintendo have packed into the unit. You're ignoring Tekken Harada's comments when he couldn't believe that Nintendo packed that amount of tech into the unit for that "low" price.
You're caught up on the tablet/handheld/console description. Irrelevant, it's a games system, and one we really can't expect to have more storage from the information that's been given to us - without it impacting more on the price.
You've just contradicted yourself there how would having say 128gig in the switch raised the by $200 when you've just said you got one for $20?, you do know that card would've cost Nintendo even less than what you paid right, there's no excuse for the ridiculous 32gig internal when people keep screaming how cheap these cards are they'd be even cheaper to Nintendo bulk buying ffs,Course they can, but the reactions at a $400/ $500 SKU for 128/256 GB internal memory surely would have been pretty awful (considering the complaints we already got for the $300 price point).
I'll just dump my $20 128GB microSD in it and be happy.
There's nothing stupid about Nintendo's storage decision. The only thing I'd like to see added in the future is the ability to use an external HDD when the system is docked.
The pdp switch cases have 14 cart slots built in. Fourteen. No need for extra cases or whatever. And Switch game carts are teeny tiny.Or i can go full digital and and when i take my switch to a friends house i dont have to carry game cases when we play party games. plus game cases take up way to much space when you buy as many games as i do im full digital on 3ds, wii u, ps4, and xb1 and outside of what i buy at launch most of my switch games will be digital.
Botw being only 13gb is shocking
So why are people here comparing the portable Switch with the stationary PS4 and XB1 that both carry spinning harddrives that alone would take half of the volume of the Switch itself?
because embedded memory is more expensive than SD cardsYou've just contradicted yourself there how would having say 128gig in the switch raised the by $200 when you've just said you got one for $20?, you do know that card would've cost Nintendo even less than what you paid right, there's no excuse for the ridiculous 32gig internal when people keep screaming how cheap these cards are they'd be even cheaper to Nintendo bulk buying ffs,

I bought a 200GB microSD for the Switch and it came in today. I find complaints here weird, people applauded Sony that they put in a patch to support external memory for PS4. And some people here are complaining that the Switch uses a universal form of external memory which doesn't break the bank at all.

PS4 and XBO need to pull more information more quickly than a BD drive can provide.I've heard some explanation that the blu-ray drives are too slow but running from disc worked perfectly on WiiU, which also used some kind of blu-ray drive, so why was the installs mandatory on PS4 and XB1?
Here's one thing that comes to mind, do people necessarily need that many games downloaded at a time on a usual basis?
Many of us complain about our backlogs (I.e. many of us do not even play games we buy), and averages Joe's tend to purchase a lot less games.
I'm not saying this isn't an issue for people, I never would, but I'm also saying for some, maybe it isn't as big a problem.
I got a 1tb hdd included in the cost of my ps4 I'm getting 32gigs in my switch included in the price, if you can't see the difference then I don't know what to say.I bought a 200GB microSD for the Switch and it came in today. Skyrim was 3GB, RDR was 6 ect
people are so amazed yet when MS actually required it last gen, you bet games could get below 6GB
