I think there were about 22 kids actually, and I was actually pretty bad in most classes, just not math.

I'll be honest despite him using the N word, I didn't really get a racist vibe from his rant. It was just disrespectful as all fuck. Now there could've been racist undertones in him feeling comfortable to be this disrespectful to this teacher and not his others, but there's no way of me knowing his history for me to gain better context to be sure one way or the other.

I just don't think expelling students exhibiting high risk behaviour is the right call ever and is indicative of a failing school system.
It's pretty easy to manage eggheads that want to learn. Chucking troubled kids out because... they need the most help and effort is just a cop out and reflective of a sad environment where we discard things we perceive aren't worth the effort.

It's funny. In a 1 minute and 10 second video you can tell that someone has never been bullied or faced a hardship in their lives that couldn't be solved without somebody with more power/money bailing them out. Fuck this kid. I don't think this kid is ready to graduate put that man's diploma on indefinite hiatus.

Personally I would say the kid needs his ass beaten, but really the other students should've stepped in and stopped that. So stupid.
I thought we were done with this race selection thing but whenever i log to NeoGaf i see threads titles like white guy did this,black guy did this like what the fuck man. Since it's too late for the kid to have his diploma revoked or be expelled, I have a feeling that if internet vigilantes find out his name - they'll get in touch with whatever college he's planning on attending (or his employer) and send them the video along with the message "Is this the kind of student you want representing your school/business?"

Eh, the word nigga was a normal at my High School, everyone used it not just the black kids. We said it as a hello to each other believe or not, "sup nigga!", nigga please! etc. I didn't use it at first but eventually got into using it since everyone said it so casually. The group I hanged out with was pretty much of all races including a few blacks I've known since middle school. FYI not white myself. Not surprising the black kids don't mind in that vid. That kid has some severe anger issues though.
This. When the students at my school went off, they used the n word in every sentence as a way to act tough.

I'm torn on if he should be expelled. The only bit that crossed into a physical altercation was him throwing the end of the faucet head. Ultimately, i'd certainly not blame a school for expelling him based on the video.
But, like you said, he probably has something going on and how would expelling him help?
We need funding for full time school psychologists at every school. It would be remedially better for problem students before using the last resort.

This is what happens when deadbeat fathers tell their sons to "man up" or "sack up" in response to their child displaying emotional vulnerability. They turn into this.
I agree with your point with trying to avoid labels, but know that humans try to categorize things including people. In the US, especially the bumfuck IE both the student and teacher were labeled as such. We usually label Caucasian people as white and a person of Asian descent as Asian.
And also, it seemed the kid was more a disrespectful little shit than raging racist. Kids around here like to utter "nigga" instead "nigger" to avoid being considered overtly racist. Yeah it's weird. Of course that doesn't excuse the Western view of Asian men in general which this punkass kid probably abides too. It explains his outburst to the middle aged teacher and the other students ambivalence towards the whole thing.

In middle school i was going to be suspended for pushing a bully in class (he did the typical ching chong racial shit asians get). My parents were out of town and my non-english speaking grandma couldn't communicate with the vice principal. So they gave me an "on-campus suspension" and instead of going to class they made me pick up trash all day. Da fuq right? Man that was torture and my friends laughed at me lol Would have loved to serve a real suspension and be playing video games at home.

He is a corny ass white dude trying to informaly use "nigga" in his rant to show off to his friends, sounds like he did it self conciously, because he fails at it like a white dude that is thinking about it when he says it. He attempts to end with the classic "whack ass nigga" but executes it with silly Caucasian awkwardness.
I think he might need some a professional psychologist and some Lithium before they turn him loose on society. He sounded more manically enraged than he did racist, and attempted to bully his teacher, harm hormones are kicking his ass.
Apparently his only punishment is that he won't get to walk on stage for graduation because it's too late in the school year to do anything else.

Don't know where it came from but my grandfather used to call people of middle eastern descent sand N word and I think I heard it somewhere else in fiction somewhere before.
I went to public school in SoCal. NEVER saw anything like this.

This is the environment we in the education industry have cultivated for the past two decades. The teachers have almost no power or protection, the parents can harm the careers of employees regardless of policy and codes of conduct, and the students are very aware of both of these things.
This leads to a number of entitled, bratty kids (with overprotective, highly litigious, bratty parents that have zero respect for professionals in the industry) running the show in classrooms at all grade levels.
This kid was clearly in the wrong, but it doesn't matter. He won't face serious consequences because A) He's white, B) School discipline is neutered, and C) His parents almost certainly have the resources to force the best possible outcome for him.
