Who's the best rapper in the game currently?

Lol, just messing with you. Drake is cool for the lane he's in/been in, just not my thing currently. Comeback Season was dope though!

Lol that's fair. I can't say I'm as die hard a Drake fan as I used to be. He's changed quite a bit. But then on occasion he drops gems like do not disturb, lose you and 30 for 30 which remind me why I've fucked with him for so long.

This place used to hate Glover, I wonder if that's still true.

But I can't in good conscience say Gambino because I value consistency. And while Gambino was my favorite rapper from 2011-2015, it was because he was always changing, always evolving. Then he dropped Awaken My Love and fucked around and evolved right out of hip-hop. He said he's almost done being Gambino and I'll be honest in saying I'd be surprised if his last project features any rapping.

As far as my answer....shit, fuck if I know. Kung-Fu Kenny rap his ass off, but so does J. Cole.

But you should ignore me, I've been bumping Hoodie Allen for the past two weeks lol. (Do You Believe...)

I love Bino, BTI is legit one of my favorite hip-hop albums of all time. He been said Awaken My Love was a pure singing/conceptual album and I doubt he stops before giving people the Chance x Childish mixtape/album/ep people have been clamoring for. I also wouldn't be surprised if he gave us a more rap-focused album to counteract the singing one we just got.

The phrase "best rapper" seems to imply you're asking who is the best at rapping.

That list is fairly short because advanced lyricism isn't a necessary component for success.

I feel like everyone who keeps posting that Drake is a rapper, let alone the best rapper, are trying to troll me personally, and I want you to know that it's not going to work this time. I'm not going to quote any of you, and I may even put you all on my ignore list I don't know yet.

Can't name one, so instead I'll rattle off a list of the most relevant & popular mainstream rappers in the game currently:
Drake
Chance The Rapper
Kendrick Lamar
Vince Staples
Lil Uzi Vert
Migos
Tee Grizzley
21 Savage
Gucci Mane
Kodak Black
Post Malone
Young Thug
Goldlink
Famous Dex
Rich The Kid
Trippie Redd
Future
NAV
Cardi B
XXXTentacion
Ski Mask The Slump God
Smokepurpp
Lil Pump
Bhad Babie (God help us all, but the numbers don't lie)
Playboi Carti

And that's all I can think off the top of my head.

There are a lot of great mentions already, but Conway is by far the most interesting rapper I've heard recently.

His verse on Basquiat on the Draw was what sold me - he comes in around 1:40.

I love RTJ but they're not dropping those bars live with that level of clarity - that's some dense shit. There's something to be said for some raw late 80s, early 90s style. He also dropped a fantastic tape yesterday - The Machine is here to stay.

I'll give some credit to this post.

I'm gonna go with Earl Sweatshirt tied with Vince Staples.

Mike is easily one of my favorite rappers and I'd drop everything to listen to a new project of his.

I suppose it's just how ridiculous the references are. It's like MF DOOM only a decade later so all of the references are 90's porn stars, wrestling, and Seinfeld. I think a lot of people, especially the dudes who may be alienated with current rap aresuper sleeping on this dude.

I graduated college, I purchased all the extra books

Some of these dudes can barely sell 70k records in the first week and get more likes on their IG pages than record sales.
Where's Big Sean? Where's Rick Ross? Where's Meek?

I'm going to say not Kendrick Lamar and pretend I know a lot about rap

It's probably Kendrick though, right?

Vince Staples a treasure. I like him as a person more than I liked BFT though, and I like electronic music.

I guess mainstream answer would be Kendrick but I personally think he’s got the talent and occasionally the beats but I still find Kendrick to be a kinda boring artist over all.

RTJ could have been it if this was coming off RTJ2 but RTJ3 exists and it really ain’t that great compared to 2 soooo.

In all honesty Frank slaps most rappers listed here just dropping half asleep verses, RAF is so good.

Didn't know that was your girl when she gave me top
