Been a preview member for a while now and I think it's time to quit. I can't launch my games and apps list to even see my digital games. Just that incessant smug circle.

Anyone had problems launching certain games? I can no longer play FIFA 16 and it won't even allow me to uninstall it to try a fresh version.

have you tried a hard reset of the console?

I couldn't launch Fallout 4 last night, or open the preview app. Hard reset solved it, but then introduced new Cortana problems

DETAILS

OS version released: rs1_xbox_rel_1608.160624-1007
Available: 6:00PM PDT 6/27 (1:00AM GMT 28/6)

Thanks for helping us test the latest Xbox One update! We’re eager to show off the new features and experiences we’ve been working on. We’ve noted below a few important things to be aware of before you jump in.

• Certain content (games, apps, DLC) purchased in the new Store may only be available on consoles enrolled in the latest Preview update. This means…
• Games purchased on a console running the latest Preview update can only be played on that console or other consoles running the latest Preview update.
• Games purchased via Xbox.com can be played on any console.
• Games purchased on a console running the previous update can be played on any console.

• Certain parental control features aren’t functioning appropriately in the current build. As a result, we encourage users to exercise caution when letting children access a console that is using the latest Xbox One update until these issues are resolved.

• We’ve added several settings that are already found on Windows today. These include SmartScreen Filter, which sends URLs you visit in apps to Microsoft to check against a list of potentially harmful sites, and advertising ID, which helps Microsoft present you with more personalized ads in Universal Windows Apps. You can choose to turn these off and manage your preferences for how Xbox One uses your information in Settings.

FIXES

• Xbox Universal Store
• You can now Buy, Rent, and Play movies and TV shows from the Store.
• Content discounted for Xbox Live Gold subscribers should now display the correct price.
• When purchasing in-game currencies, the currencies should now always appear in-game.

• Game and App Saved Data
When launching games and apps, you should no longer encounter a "We can't save more data for this game or app" error.

• Movies & TV
When launching Movies & TV and attempting to play a video, the menu should no longer obstruct part of the screen.

• Cortana
This update contains several significant Cortana performance improvements and bug fixes:
• Cortana now recognizes many more commands immediately (the exception is the pause and play commands which are still being worked on).
• Cortana will now understand game and app launches better, however, there is a delay while Cortana announces what she is launching.
• Resolved several issues with Cortana launching into a web search rather than launching a game or app after saying “Hey Cortana, launch [game/app]”.
• Cortana is now warmed up and ready when the console powers on or comes out of standby rather than after sign in.

• Microsoft Edge
While playing a video, pressing the left thumbstick to enter full screen mode should no longer cause Microsoft Edge to crash.

CURRENT KNOWN ISSUES

• Xbox Universal Store
• At this time it's not possible to redeem a 5x5 code for Xbox Live Gold on the console. Please use Xbox.com or another console not enrolled in the latest Xbox One update to redeem a 5x5 code for Xbox Live Gold.
• Store pages for purchased games and apps sometimes still show a “Buy” button rather than an “Install” button. If you encounter this issue, please submit feedback via Report a problem.
• The Coming Soon section is not currently available in the Store, and will be enabled in a future update.
• The Store may fail to display content when using certain language and region combinations.

• OneDrive
OneDrive may fail to launch due to an error.

• Payments and Billing
At this time it's not possible to add, edit, or remove payment options on the console. Please use Xbox.com or another console not enrolled in Redstone to manage payment options.

• Profile
• Users are allowed one free Gamertag change per account. After using your one free Gamertag change, you will be charged for future Gamertag changes. In the current update, while your free Gamertag change will complete successfully, attempting to purchase a Gamertag change will charge your account, but will not change your Gamertag. Please avoid purchasing a Gamertag change on Xbox One at this time. To successfully change your Gamertag, visit https://account.xbox.com/ChangeGamertag.
• When selecting “Add new” to add a new profile, the add profile interface may take up to 30 seconds to appear.

• Cortana
• Cortana may take a longer than expected amount of time to use the pause and play commands.
• Cortana may occasionally freeze at “Warming up…” and become unresponsive.
• Sometimes Cortana reports a poor network connection, when the network connection is fine.
• Searching the Xbox Universal Store via Cortana sometimes causes her to search the same keyword multiple times.
• See-It-Say-It sometimes fails to turn on when first launching an app, but will turn on after using a voice command from within the app.

• Pins
If you have pins on your Home to movies, TV shows, or music, they will disappear from Home when that app takes its new app update. The pins for the apps will stay on your Home, easy to get to.

• My Games & Apps
You may encounter an error when attempting to load Ready to Install with a large number of digital games and apps.

• NowTV
The NowTV app may fail to launch.

• Community Calendar
Links to the Store in Community Calendar event details do not currently function.

Weird.

Turned on Xbox and I was offline.
Trying to connect, or going to settings didn't work.
In fact, going to network would just crash.

Full reboot. Will turn on later to check if fixed.

New update has broken my friends list. All of my followed gamertags are gone other than Games themselves. When people log on I can still see them log on. But it's broken in both the My Profile app on the Guide itself. :l

You given it a hard reboot? Works For Me™

Hey cortana doesn't even work.

I'm infuriated. I literally have a useless kinnect. They only time it works is when I go into the app and press to talk. I can no longer play, pause or go to an app or game. The navigation functions completely stopped working

How the hell do I get out of this. I still says pending on the preview app and but I want to change it to get out

Does a factory reset get me out of the preview?

"Xbox, pause" worked immediately. Cortana needs to be as fast as that.

agreed. i dont know how the voice processing is handled now but basic commands such as pause, play, go to, etc. need to be as quick as the old method.
there really isnt any excuse and i wont take anything else
absolutely awful.

New update completely fucked my Battlefield Hardline. It won't start at all and there's a big thread on the preview forums about how EA games just will not start.

Well, she opened Rocket League after five tries, which is far better than the previous record of infinity. I don't know why she has to say REGISTERED at the end, like c'mon, ignore the symbol, and c'mon game companies, stop putting that shit in your menu name. Yeah. We know. You own the name of your game. Congrats.

"Hey Cortana" fucking sucks, it takes too long to say "Hey Cortana" in the first place.

Xbox was absolutely fine.

I feel like a complete twat repeatedly saying "Hey Cortana, do this" Hey cortana, do this"

A lot of the time I will be using a different input on my TV but still use the Xbox to turn the volume and down. With "Xbox Volume Up" you can tell if it's working straight away ... with "Hey Cortana turn the volume up" it seems to take ages to be responsive.

Prefer the old Xbox commands for controlling media, controlling volume and turning the box on and off.

Its gotten worse. I use to be able to just say "hey cortana" and immediantly follow with what ever command i wanted to to. Now when ever i say it, it says "warming up" for 5 seconds. Or she will just recongnize "hey cortana" and then reply back "thats me!"

I 100% agree. I would trade all the new Cortana features in just to get the old Xbox commands back. Controlling my TV / cable box with "Xbox" was so much quicker. Not to mention the fact that Cortana will often miss-hear me and then snap the full sized Cortana app.

So where is it saying we will see windows 10 apps on xbox with this current update? A new blog update even came out on xbox .com and it still doesn't mention win 10 apps. just background music.

Just give me the audible app people

Bah. The beauty of it previously was it was instant. Now I have to turn on my controller and pause it.

I wonder how they'll tweak it?

Cortana made me disconnect my kinect lol. Double-tapping the guide then pressing X/Y is infinitely more reliable than Cortana's heresy.

Why get rid of "Xbox ____?"

Easiest solution would be to make Cortana work differently when using commands while watching a video. "Hey Cortana, pause" would then be executed right away.

Anyone else have spotty USB detection for media player? We watched something, added a file and now the drive is unreadable. The other day if was funny and a jiggle worked. Thing is fine in everything else.

Cortana doesn't even work for me in this update. After a single voice command Cortana becomes conpletely unresponsive, as in she doesn't even pop up to try and listen for anything. It stays like that until I do a full restart, after which I get a single voice command before she becomes completely unresponsive again. I'm all for testing to help make things better, but this entire preview needed a lot more work before going out.

I noticed this morning that the digital keyboard doesn't appear any more when you use the chatpad, that's good ! (except that you don't have access to some controls any more, like going back/forward with RB/LB).

I also just reported a bug with TV, the screen will automatically dim after some time ; maybe it can see that I'm away from the screen through Kinect like it did in the past... but then in the older version it would also automatically brighten up when it sees me again, and that doesn't happen with the update. Hopefully the full feature is coming back, that was definitely cool.

I will never use "Hey Cortana"

Change it to just "Cortana" and we'll talk

I promise I'm literally never talking about Cortana, so it definitely won't activate on accident.

Anyone else's XBO trying to download an update to Avatars but it keeps getting stuck at 7%?

I stopped it since I kept getting notifications but I was just curious if I was the only one.

Mine was doing it the day of the most recent update (before the update landed), again the next day, and then again last night. I uninstalled it and reported the issue.

The thing is most of the times when you say cortana she starts listening. Or used to, I don't use her for like 1 week

The Coming Soon section is showing up on the store for me, but when I pressed Show All it took me to Top Free.

Same here. And when I go Back, it only loads 3 sections or nothing at all beyond the featured stuff at the top.

This latest update seems laggy as hell. Browsing the store, I push up or down and it takes a few secs for the screen to respond.
