Just saw this article on Siliconera

Aviary Attorney is a bird lawyering game set in Paris during 1847, just after the revolution of the late 18th Century and the uprisings of 1830.

You play as Jayjay Falcon, a defense lawyer, who youll need to guide through conversation with various other animal folk to build up your case to deliver in court.

The case concerns Lady Caterline Demiaou, a lavish feline who is described as the charming bourgeoisie, and who is current on trial for murder. Its your job to defend her and prove her innocence, if you can.

Just started playing the Ace Attorney series (on Trials and Tribulations) and I must say, a game inspired by it sounds like more good fun to me!

The artstyle and choice of animals makes this game seem so awesome.

The artstyle and use of animals seems to be based on Scènes de la Vie Privée et Publique des Animaux

Theres also rabbits and cats in the games page, so its not an only bird thing like Hatoful Boyfriend.

Guess there won't be much animation since it's mostly using scans from the book for the characters.

Seems to be? It literally is. The book is PD, The dev is scanning and modifying the art.

Which is COOL, because noone would ever see this again otherwise...

It's scans? That would be a pity, Thought it was all going to be newly handrawn but with that style.

Oh just read that scans were not cutting it and had to redraw the chracters form scratch.

Well it's not all birds, now is it? You're just playing the feathered reptiles, as there are plenty other fauna to interact with.

Cautiously interested, my one reservation being that people will try and force bird VNs as some fad to legitimize their interest in Japanese adventure games.
