Think I'm gonna get this game I will probably suck at it (not too good at this genre) but I always wanted to play this series and missed the PS3 release .

Kinda enjoyed the PS3 demo , I prefer playing on handheld anyway.

Any way I can make my module or set of accessories to always be used on every song featuring the vocaloid I customized?

I usually don't bother with Extreme either, but I did since (unlock spoilers)
beating a song on Extreme gets you the Miku, Rin, and Len Append modules, the angel wings, and the angel halo accessories.
I did Cat Food since that's the easiest, and got an Excellent much to my shock.

Getting Perfect on Cat Food on Extreme is also a good way to grind DIVA Points with the use of the challenge items.

Man, playing Cat Food so many times @_@

Downloaded the demo yesterday and, honestly, wasn't impressed.

I love music games in general and this was my first foray into the series. The timing, as was mentioned by several individuals, was just off. Music games need to have a good feel to them, as you're going by rhythm (especially when things get super hectic), and it just didn't have it. I kept trying to figure out what "cool" was and I still don't have it, I don't think.

But this wasn't even the main problem. The music was just terrible. Admittedly, it was just the 3 songs in the demo, but they were not good. At all. And I'm not anti-jpop or anything. Might buy this when it goes on sale eventually for $10 or less, but until then, no thanks.

Fffff- (Trophy spoilers)
I can't seem to get the Thumbs Up! trophy. I think I downloaded an edit map, but I can't find it in the Edit Play list afterward. Help?

I just can't seem to get a Perfect on Cat Food (Normal Mode)... For a perfect, you need only Cools and Goods right?

Also, I haven't had this much fun with a game in some time. Loving it.

Don't think so. The costumes are saved per song.

No, but you can save your customized sets so that you can easily load them up for every song.

Ah I see, thanks.

Yes. I haven't got a perfect yet though. I'm loving extreme of Glasses. I can't quite get perfect though only excellent. I guess it's one of the easier songs since I'm struggling on some of the songs on hard.

haha really I didn't expect you to have fun in this game especially with your avatar looking like that. :p

What is with World's End Umbrella? Less animu, more miku!

And yeah this game drains the battery fast!

I mentioned the timing seemed late to me, but it's consistent across the whole game - certainly not to the point that I have trouble finding the Cool window. Besides, when we ran a score challenge on the PS3 version of the game back when it launched, the top three had no issue with achieving a 97-98% Cool ratio. The timing is later and stricter than you're used to, but the game is not at fault for your performance.

I still think they should have gone with the songs on the PS3 demo instead - Catfood is up there on my favorites too (doriko's Romeo and Cinderella album is basically the best album ever) but Tengaku still tops it, and I know a lot of people who feel the same way.

Just tried the demo. Easy is way too easy, and normal I can get an ok score on the first and last songs, and scrape through on worlds end. But now I am blind.

Ok...FUCK this game!!
I've made this mistake and deside to try the demo from EU store and in result I'm almost missed my workout!! Now this game in my "MUST BUY" list

I'm guessing you use the Perfection item... I'd be so screwed.

You can start small with some of the other challenge items so you won't die horribly.

I mean I only really got into a good grove once I got really good at Cat Food and slowly started using harder and harder challenge items.

I actually find Perfectionist/Cool Master to be the easiest of all available challenge items, despite it having the highest cost/reward.

Hate to ask before reading all previous posts but thread is kind of long. Will Europe get a retail release or it would be digital only as US?

I guess after a while, yeah, it was the one I gotten most comfortable with.

I did try it out with Survival and Mega Survival and they weren't too bad for some songs...

I do hate Stealthy Target though.

So how much DP do I need to buy everything?

Rough estimates:

About 2 million for all the costumes.

I think about 1 million or so for all the accessories.

And, let's say another million for all the gifts you'll need to get and give to them.

You don't need to get all the accessories though for the platinum though I believe.

=O

I only got like 200k...

And like 6k per song...

Ive never played one of these games before, but I watched that Vita launch trailer and I think it really sold me.

I really don't know if I'll like it tho.

Will there be a demo for Vita? (I'm in Australia btw).

There's already a demo live in NA and EU as far as I can tell. No idea about Australia, unfortunately.

Did you save the data you downloaded? It won't show up unless you saved the data.
I thought I did... Eh, lemme try again.

EDIT: Yep, that's what I forgot to do.
Note that you don't have to actually PLAY the edit; just start it up, let it run a few, then quit. You'll still get the trophy when you return to the main menu.

You don't have to even play the edit at all, just favorite it and go back to the menu lol

Yes. Just keep trying and eventually you'll get it.

Looking forward to going for a perfect again when I get to Hard Mode. I love that song.

Just tried the demo and it felt like the game wasn't for me. Managed to sort of get the hang of it after a couple of tries (close to 95% twice) but I don't think button-tapping rhythm games are for me

Huge rhythm game fan. Not too much exposure with Hatsune Miku. I did tell myself if this came stateside and was on Vita, I'd buy.

So I guess I have to put my money where my mouth is.

Just got the platinum on my import copy on vita finally.
Will probably go for another when I get a chance to grab this. Internet out here isn't so hot so downloading just isn't an option currently. Still really tempted to import Diva 2 for vita just not sure because of the shipping time. Especially since it will have to go to an APO address.

A question for those who have platinum'd the game. (Spoilers, obv.)

To get the characters' birthday cakes, can I fiddle with the date on my Vita, get the cakes, then reset it back?

I'm loving this. For me this is much preferred to the PS3 release. I found the game to be really visually distracting on my big screen TV but on the Vita it just seems perfect with the exception of the Star notes. I am having trouble with the touchscreen on the Star notes but it might just be me. I certainly need more practice!

I just use both my thumbs. Maybe it's easier for me since I have big hands.

yes , but you can still get the cakes without cheating
by buying them once you reach max friendship with either character.

I am having trouble hitting max. Since the gain rate gets less and less with each level. I hit level 4 with Miku and now I'm apparently stuck. Yes, I'm using the guide on the PD wiki.

Just keep giving gifts over and over, it's gonna take a lot for the higher levels.

Dunno why were spoiler tagging the Diva Room.

The higher the gift cost the more it works in upping the bar.
I got everyone up to max level just buying the most expensive food. Didn't take long since I was farming points with a song on Hard I could perfect (or get excellent) and using the challenge items that only counts when you get a perfect note hit.
