mmmm they have rules.
3D audio sounds nice, it is integrated into the headset?
mmmm they have rules.
Sony will produce better VR games.
Sony copying Nintendo Go now? C'mon.
I'm in the same situation as you, I'm just excited that this has the potential to reach mass markets and won't be considered a "nerdy computer thing."Honest Question:
Are the people that are most excited about Sony's VR headset not into PC gaming at all? .... I mean, why be more interested in this than Oculus Rift, which is being developed on an open platform, the PC? Is the tech better?
I own a PS4 and have lots of games on Steam. I'm just honestly a little confused as to why some people are really excited about this announcement...

Dammit I didn't know there was a new thread and debut'd it wrong! Oh well, here ya go
I won't touch a PC for gaming. I like the ease of consoles. Bring this thing on!! So excited. At 43 I can't wait forever for this stuff to come out.Honest Question:

Its means great thing for Oculus owners also. I really do not understand why people cannot see that.....
So you are into VR at all you should be HYPED about this....
I think both Sony and Valve will make great VR games.
This Sony VR is gonna skip the PS4, mark my words. This is gonna be delivered with the PS5.

Why do people who game on PC always want to convert console gamers is my question? Let me enjoy this.
Than Oculus? A company that does not make games?
Look forward to seeing more, but I'm not really sold on these VR sets as true gaming devices. I guess I'm still scarred by Virtual Boy.
Early prototypes:
So, it's been in development before the Oculus Rift?

Or people understand that, by being able to target both PC and an additional console, more devs are likely to give VR a shot, which can accelerate the adoption of the technology.

I believe Sony are going to have VR exclusives that are more valuable to me than the Rift will.Than Oculus? A company that does not make games?
Agh, now I'm conflicted. No idea if I'm going to buy Oculus' VR headset or Sony's. Right now, I do have a pretty sweet gaming PC, but I do not have a PS4... so in a weird way, it might be cheaper to go with Oculus' solution. What do, Neogaf???
Will the oculus use it's own gpu/processor/mem and basically just plug into the pc to play games or will it use the pc hardware to render games?

Well, it helps that Sony has one of the best array of 1st party studios on the world. I'm all for indie development, but it's only Sony that can pump 50 or 60 million dollars on a VR game. There's no other publisher willing to do that BECAUSE VR is not viable yet.
Sony is taking that risk because they are a literal part of this revolution.
Cause Sony is a huge company with better R&D (they are working with NASA)
(Oculus Rift is made from off the shelf parts, Sonys VR is made from custom made parts)
Sony has some of the best gaming 1st party Studios.
Sony has marketing money to spend on.
Sony isnt just talking about gaming software.

With the amount of Xbox memes and gifs posted here, I'd say the majority posting are not seeing that. I think the excitement is there as vr is now on a platform they are invested in. But also its another feather in PlayStation console wars hat

Demonite already said we're seeing games at E3.
PC hardware that will likely cost 2000 dollars to 3000 dollars to run VR comfortably, if "some" people here are showing off that Oculus is trying to make a 4K headset.
Yeah it's always been a problem on GAF with console gamers trolling PC gaming threads. Oh wait! Why did console gamers constantly say that Oculus was going to fail without Consoles?
Same reason.

if it takes $2000 dollars to do VR 'confortably' then PS4 VR is completely impossible. With the greatest discounts in existance, the PS4 cant come anywhere close to $2000 dollars worth of parts and no 'coding to the metal' is going to bridge that gap.
So you are talking out of your ass.
Yeah it's always been a problem on GAF with console gamers trolling PC gaming threads. Oh wait!
Of course the Rift has to use your PC's hardware. The PS4 headset requires it to be plugged into a PS4 so I'm not sure what you're getting at.
