Nintendo Downloads - March 2014

The WiiU version was only delayed because it hasnt been approved by NOA yet, yea it doesnt have online multiplayer, but there are huge devs with WiiU games without that, Eko is a small dev. They didnt claim Nintendo was sitting on the game, that was coming from me. They told me last year that the game was coming soon and was waiting to be approved. I asked them again a week ago about the game, they said "yes already submitted to Nintendo, but not approved yet!"

These guys have gotten their game approved and out in Japan on other platforms, and also have adding other content to the other platform versions of the game. I doubt they dont care about the WiiU version since they finished the game and would like to get some revenue for it. If the game had a bug in it wouldnt NOA tell them? All I know they have been waiting around for months for the game to get approved.

Eh, something about how this story is being presented doesn't track. We hear about games submitted and failing lot check often, meaning the devs are of course informed and need to make necessary changes and resubmit. Pure Chess is a recent example. That's coming out this week and was originally due in January. We don't hear stories about games just collecting e-dust waiting to get approved. At least I haven't. If that were the case and it fell through the cracks, I'm sure there's avenues for a concerned developer to contact Nintendo.

im going to wait until devil survivor is $10

Spending 20$ on DS:O will be one of the best decision you'll ever make. Unless you have a backlog problem, you should go play it now.

Good story (love the modern elements) + good battle system and map design + lot's of enemy variety + addicting demon fusing + longevity (took me ~46 hours for one route) + new game plus and multiple paths = awesome

The only thing I really disliked was one of the party members because she was ultra whiny and selfish.

According to Nicalis all versions of 1001 Spikes are done. And I don't think Microsoft has anything to do with it except if that launch parity nonsense is still part of the contract. Even Scram Kitty got the TBD release date and that one is a Wii U exclusive. Maybe Nintendo wants to announce the release dates in a trailer or something like that.

Edit: I asked the dev of Teslagard on twitter:

i have a jrpg backlog problem, waiting for devil survivor to drop to 10$ helps me handle it

I would really like a Scram Kitty release date. Probably one of my most anticipated Wii U releases. Also seems to be flying under the radar unfortunately. :/

ittle Dew, Wooden Sen'sey, Squids, Cubemen 2, Ballpoint Universe and the like would really cushion the blow of having to wait until May for Mario Kart.

There are some games that I know have passed submission and are just waiting on release. Cubemen 2 and Flowerworks HD (I heard this was actually really fun on WiiWare, can anyone confirm?) being two examples.

If I buy games now from the Wii VC (using Wii U), will I be getting a discount when they hit the Wii U eShop? I've already done the system transfer during launch. Would love to get Final Fantasy VI and Secret of Mana but I would prefer to play them on the GamePad.

Another question, can I play SNES games on the GamePad screen using the Classic Controller Pro?

I feel like I should know this stuff but I have no idea how these work.

Yes and yes, thankfully!

Be warned that your saves won't transfer. So you just get the Wii u version at a discounted price.

Please give feedback when you can. The price is off putting for me but I may bite if you seem it worth a purchase!

spent some time with this during commute to and from work. Nice shooter, looks good, runs smooth in 3-D also. Played on normal difficulty which seemed a bit too easy so will play on hard from now on.

I have never played the original version though so cant compare it to anything. I do think the price maybe a little high though.

you have any questions?

That actually looked somewhat interesting when I saw it on Chrontendo recently. But I guess it's not really what most people are waiting for.

Not at five bucks, at any rate.
I'm surprised there hasn't been a promotion for all of these NES games.

Volleyball is a new low. Screw this company, let them rot. Who in the world, out of the 4+ million install base of the U, wants to spend $5 on this waste of a game?

NES Remix 2 releases on April 25th in NA and there is only two games left on it that hasn't been released yet in NA. Dr. Mario and SMB3, we just got Lost Levels last week and I don't know about you but I'd like Mario games to have some kind of space in between them. After tomorrow there is only 4 eshop updates left not counting the release week of Remix 2. I think It's safe to say they will both be released before then.

Considering SMB 3 was supposed to come out last year (based on their eshop pic at one time) I think it's received plenty of space.

Dr. Mario was already released in Europe FYI. Actually, so was SMB3... so does that mean Europe already has all the NES Remix 2 titles released then?

NES Volleyball...really? I wouldn't get it if they put it up there for free.

The last month or so of VC has been a disgrace to people who play video games. Either they're about to announce a new VC strategy shortly or they really do have no idea what they're doing. Either way you can't really argue that they don't deserve to be in the position they're in right now.

This isn't new but it's sad to see how Nintendo treats VC when remembering the huge ovation the service got when it was announced at E3 05.

Companies change their mind all of the time and what I meant by space is Lost Levels was just released last week so expecting SMB3 tomorrow is a little soon don't ya think?

Super Mario Bros. 3 has some nasty visual glitches going on at the sides (on 3DS at least). You'd think they could simulate overscan for Virtual Console by having the option to add black bars. Evidently not. But at least Gameboy games get nice frames.

This has not yet been presented as a possible reason why Nintendo hasn't released this in NA, but 'lol nintendo hates money' continues to get trotted out.

Glad to see it finally come out, considering it was meant to be out in Jan. but $30 is just out of my price range for digital only, especially when I'm on a strict budget. Guess I'll have to wait for a sale to happen...

I'd buy Yumi's Odd Odyssey but I'm pretty sure it's more expensive in Canada and I won't support that bullshit.
