It is fake, XB1 outsold PS4 comfortably according to the MCV guy.

I've not seen that tweet.

Edit:just seen that tweet.

That means last week the ratio was less than 1.135:1 in PS4s favour. A large departure from the 1.5:1 Gara reported at the end of last month. We have to assume that there really were no PS4s Available last week. Though I don't recall hearing that the Xbone won last week?

Not that it adds much new information but has this been posted?

Xbox One sales boosted by Titanfall – but PlayStation 4 up too

Guardian article with a couple of small quotes by Chris Dring [editor of MCV]

Good find - article seems to have a fair amount of figures/statements. Sounds like PS4 is not just ahead but is ahead enough that it can absorb the TitanFall bump in UK. Assuming Second Son delivers even a modest boost (which it probably should as noted in the article) I suspect that, at least initially, PS4 might well be able to "ride out" the impact of TitanFall in UK and ultimately remain ahead.

Lol that's what's been causing confusion in the whole thread. Whether those boosts are the result of TitanFall sales or if someone's just been aggregating the boost (at least for XBO) to TitanFall based on simple logic/common sense (which despite such could be wrong).

Do you think it means anything that there are still xbox one Titanfall bundles available on Amazon?

You would think those would sell out soon.

They created a lot of the bundles. In our medium sized store, we were sent around 40 Titanfall bundles. We still have over half of those left. Probably the same story on amazon

US/UK? Urban/Rural?

It's the same general story in the Northeast Best Buy district here in the US. We've still got more than half of the Titanfall bundles we were shipped, and I believe we're at a little more than 2/3 left of the X1 copies of Titanfall left (we were shipped 1200 district wide).

Thanks Abdiel :D

Always love getting info from you. How many stores are in your district again? If you don't mind me asking?

It's been very quiet since TF launched. Very curious how a title with the biggest marketing push shows. The game is definitely made to be fun (though for me, only on foot, I'm not liking it when titans are involved) but this will be interesting to see if marketing is enough to push a game beyond.

UK and urban. We still have a lot of copies of the game left too.

What I found amazing is that I was in work most of the day on Tuesday and when I left with 1 hour till close we had only sold 1 copy of the game. Obviously only one day but I don't get the impression Titanfall will have great legs. Sales were good over the weekend

Azure spins up servers on demand. If there are 12 total people that own the game and want to play, Azure will spin up one dedicated virtual server for them...

;p

You aren't playing against real people. The AI is actually that good and people just haven't realized it.

Some say that given the XBOX1 version is not exactly perfect it's no surprise the less relevant-to-microsoft 360 version is potentially a mess.

I do like the look of Titanfall but it's still not enough to tip me over the edge into an Xbox One purchase.

I shall hang fire until the series exclusivity issue is sorted out.

Gamasutra.
Not sure if relevant to discussion, but in the electronic issue of MCV UK (paywall):
MCV UK said:
MCV understands that Sony is preparing to release extra stock into the trade for this Friday's launch of Infamous: Second Son, which is PlayStation's big hope for the quarter.
So it is possible that PS4 sales could go up further next week, if demand remains.

But do we have any idea how much weekly PS4 supply UK gets? is it weekly supply or biweekly.?

Top 10 UK Software Sales (All Formats); week ending March 22:
Infamous: Second Son
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes
Titanfall
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
South Park: The Stick of Truth
FIFA 14
Dark Souls 2
The Lego Movie Videogame
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition

Infamous: Second Son ahead of MGS: Ground Zeroes and Titanfall? I wonder how this affects the sales. Is there a thread about it? I can't find one so this would be a good landing ground.

"As you’d expect from a series with close ties to the PlayStation it was the PlayStation 4 version that sold the most, with 58 per cent of sales. That left the Xbox One on 20 per cent, the PlayStation 3 on 15 per cent, and the Xbox 360 on just 7 per cent.

Sales of Titanfall fell by 73 per cent in its second week, which isn’t that unusual for a big release (Dark Souls II was down 71 per cent) and especially not for a next gen exclusive where most console owners will have been keen to get the game as soon as possible."

UK individual formats chart – 22 March

1 (-) inFamous: Second Son (PS4)
2 (-) Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS4)
3 (1) Titanfall (XO)
4 (-) Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster (PS3)
5 (-) Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (XO)
6 (-) Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS3)

8 (7) Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (360)

Wow! I'm glad to see Infamous is sitting where it deserves :) I'm also happy to see a Vita game on the list.

Its even worse when you consider that some places were offering a £60 price cut last week on the Xbox one with titanfall

True. I wonder how hardware sales were for the past week though with Sony getting extra stock and 2 PS4 titles out. Its even funny that FFX made it close to TitanFall.

Are these Digital too? Cause not a single person in my friends list bought Titanfall physical disc...all Digital (US Store, cheaper than euro). The same thing goes for inFamous on my friends list.

Tbh me, and most of my friends, stoped buying physical cause we all go for the US X1/PS4 Store this new generation.

You are surprised second week sales of a game were beaten by first week sales of two other quite big titles?

My store got 25 infamous consoles on friday, by the end of Sunday we had one left. It's being used a doorstop until my colleague gets paid.

No, I don't think digital is included. Which somewhat skews the figures. Loads of ppl bought digital.

Not surprising that Microsoft didnt get the aggressive PR out for TitanFall. 73% down after one week is pretty bad.

Bit to be expected. If you own an XB1 it's most likely because of Titanfall at this point, so I would imagine that most everyone who wants the game went ahead and bought it already. Probably won't have much for legs either, due to the MP intimidation factor and knowing a sequel has to be no more than a year or two off.

Your friends are not the average consumers.
Many people doesnt even bother creating second or third accounts and dont have credit cards or shops that sell network cards. Besides, there is always the thing with warranty, local languages and sell used games. The majority of console gamers are still buying physical.
