SAM question...

If I reset a game's achievements via SAM can I earn them again through normal gameplay?

Lol I have every achievement from previously owned games except for Loadout. Time to dig back into that.

It's a bummer they aren't doing Castlevania MOF stuff.

I think the Loadout achievements are bugged on Playfire and no-one can earn them. So don't bother

Quick, guys, before the dailies change, convince me Arkham Origins is worth its current price.

Best story and use of characters out of all 3 games.
Best voice acting out of all 3 games.
Best music out of any Batman media
Awesome cinematics

If you can get past the rather frequent bugs and the copy-pasted gameplay from AC then it's a steal at that price

hmm is anyone using some Stream service to stream your steam games to your Android/nVidia SHIELD etc?

did anyone use Kainy? I'm trying to get it to launch Big Picture mode whenever I have a game on.. but gahh it's not working...

I would love to use Limelight instead... but I have a AMD GPU

anyone has thoughts on this?

I thought AO was a step down from AC, but if you liked one I can't really imagine having a highly differing opinion about the other. They're so similar (or at least I perceive that they are.)

Unless being so familiar ends up being a big negative for you (general 'you'). Which is understandable.

What the hell?
Are you saying Soul Sacrifice is a crappy game? Cause we aren't going to be friends if that's your take on it. >_<

Lies about Volgarr:

- There are no checkpoints
- There are no saves
- 2 hardcore 4 me
- Bad controls/platforming (yes, I've heard this one)

Some true shit:

There is a checkpoint at the halfway point of every level. It's a soft checkpoint, so it resets on restart. The game saves after every boss, and a warp point opens up to the left of every level. The game is not easy, but it's also not on some "I wanna be the guy" shit. You live
/die
and you learn. The game is about leveling yourself up as a player. The second level is probably the hardest, and can be a roadblock for many. The rest of the game is a piece of cake by comparison (but oh so good). ToddHunter caught the holy ghost and breezed through the rest of the game.

I hate that they pushed this as some super hard game. People took it as being unfair or unbeatable. It's just really well made. A great example of fantastic game design.

(1) The controls are very different. It's a bit hard to get used to because of the... deliberateness... that a lot of it carries with it. Once you jump, you jump, there's no fine tuning, and it's kind of slow and weighty... so I can see where people might have trouble adjusting at first.
(2) It is a difficult game to get into... but once you do and you get a better feel for the controls and how the gameplay works, it's great. The problem for a lot of people is that it's a very "old school" game. And while gamers apparently took issue with the fact that you couldn't "die" in PoP2008 [lies, everytime you're saved, it's basically a death and return to the last checkpoint], a good number of gamers are used to being coddled by the principles of "today's" game design. Regenerating health, frequent checkpoints, etc.

Wait for the inevitable 5$ on the Summer sale.

No. It's worth more than that if you're a Batman fan. It's better than Arkham City.

Batman is so angry pretty much the entire game and it is amazing. That alone is worth 10$. The rest is all sweet sweet gravy.

Hahaha. Yes, that game's worth $10 for sure. I paid $20 and didn't play it right away -- yet I'm not even mad, because the game is great!

Angry Bat is best Bat.

Batman is ALWAYS angry. Which is why he's always the best.

What is there to hate in AC? I honestly don't get the whole love one of the series, shit on the others.

Or AA has aged poorly. Played that shit last week and it was still insanely dope.

The catwoman segments?
The overload of collectibles?

I don't actively hate them, but I know they can get annoying.

Finished Castlevania LoS MoF HD.

It was pretty alright, if somewhat uneven. Will probably try the hardcore difficulty at some point, not sure about the boss rush mode. It was more of a "Metroidvania" than what my early impressions had led me to believe. Didn't really dig the music overall, enjoyed LoS1 themes a lot more.

It's a little strange, generally speaking I like act 3 the best as far as gameplay goes (
also, how is Trevor able to double jump?
), but the rooms, level structure and some of the set piece moments are the worst. Worst offenders being the
falling bell section, clock tower, long diving sections, and those couple boss battles involving quick time events (even though you don't have to be very quick at all). And the very last bit where Trevor is falling towards Dracula and has to dodge those red magic balls or whatever, just awful.

I've had a support ticket in with Playfire for over a week now requesting assistance with properly linking my Steam profile, and I haven't got a response yet. It says that my Steam profile is already linked, but that I have 0 games. Everything in my "play activity" section says Jan 1, 1970.

I've unlocked tons of achievements that should have earned rewards, but so far nothing.

I think I'm just going to give up on the service.

My support ticket to sort out this GMG/Playfire/Steam linking thing took over a week as well but they did ultimately resolve it. Got about $9 GMG credit out of it. Then their tracking promptly stopped working for me for over a month until a couple of days ago when it again added quite a few missing achievements and the related credit. I'm not even sure if I shoulder bother to contact their support over this issue again given how frequently reward achievements cycle around. No way to keep up with it all so I'm just hoping it starts working properly on it's own.

Way I see it, you get the rewards credited at the end of each week. If their system misses a week, it'll give it you the next week and so on.

I don't know. AC felt kind of messy to me. I wasn't a fan of the pacing, the story or the side content (that I managed to do). AO just felt better in every category to me.

I will be replaying AC soon. I want to see if maybe something has clicked since playing AO.

Humble Bundle needs to fix their Games You Own page.
Why do I have to be assaulted with DRM free downloads when I just want to get to the bottom of the page for steam keys.

Yeah Arkham Origins is cool, I've been playing it and I haven't found anything that I don't like about it yet, it's not perfect but every encounter so far has been really fun with great action/cinematic sequence to go with it, it feels like it has a better flow to it than the previous games. I also like this batman a lot more.

If you paid $50 for Masters of the World GS3, you can now pay another $15 for a modding add-on.

"The modding tool add-on lets players create and play contexts and scenarios (mods), as well as share them with other users."

The game still has shitty DRM on top of Steam.

How nice of them to let you pay for modding.

I knew I shouldn't have bought LYNE and just waited for a bundle.

Bundles are nice, but I'm starting to believe that indies are harming themselves in the long run. They have the numbers though, so maybe it's working well enough for them.

I didn't have any other problems with the game expect the last one, but that was only because I had played 22 hours of Rogue Legacy just before trying Volgarr for the first time and I just couldn't handle the Mega Driveish platforming after being all Super Nintendo for such a long time. I plan to beat the game eventually though.

So I just learned about this Playfire rewards thing, and now I'm sad because I missed a bunch of them from achievements I already had :(

A very generous person has gifted me a copy of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, now I can get to know what's it all about :)
Excellent, enjoy!
And remember to play in classic mode :)

Wow! That good huh?
It really is

On the bright side, we now have a genuine reason to let games sit in our backlogs and never play them.

Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
Such a bummer you can't play in classic mode with voice-acting enabled. I want to hear Dominic Armato talk about Threepwood's rubber chicken in 16 glorious bits. Or, well, Curse's artstyle. But ye can't have it all, apparently.
Glad they fixed that in the SE for LeChuck's Revenge. The redone graphics where a whole lot better as well.

They surely know how PC gaming works.

BTW, RionaaM, not sure if you knew, but Dust: An Elysian Tail's score was co-composed by Alexander Brandon (aka Siren/KFMF).

The same guy that made Jazz Jackrabbit 2, unreleased Jazz 3 and half of original Deus Ex.

I was just looking at the achievements for Max Payne 3, and about half of them are multiplayer-based achievements.

I wonder how many people legitimately achieved 100% in that game.
