This is just a placeholder date, right? RIGHT???

Maybe they meant summer in the southern hemisphere

What? It looks good, but that's irrelevant. I don't even... The smoothness of motion is too smooth,as opposed to 24fps of real life? And the motion is too fast? The speed of the game is identical to that of PS3. You're arguing that you would rather the game have a crappy framerate or it isn't as good.

You're obviously going down the route of the game being more cinematic. Then the game should be running at 24fps. Also, wouldn't you think the creators of the game would want to maintain the cinematic feel by locking the framerate at 24fps?

No it shouldn't be capped at 24fps. It should be capped at 30 because that's completely smooth and the exact sweet spot for gaming since 24 doesn't cut it in terms of input response and at the same time 30 still maintains a motion close to that of real life. Are you retarded? I'm arguing that 60fps alters the experience since 60fps even with the same game speed is too fluid to feel life like. Something that 30fps preserves. The feeling of realistic motion. I'm all for better performance, but increasing the framerate to the double without making adjustments to certain things could result in a less enjoyable experience.

30fps is closer to film motion than realistic motion. 60fps is more realistic in terms of visual feedback and cadance.

This statement is factually bonkers. Real life doesn't have a frame rate. It is as smooth and uninterrupted as motion can conceivably be. 30 is closer to video/film, not real life. 60, 120, 240 fps would be approaching "motion close to that of real life."

Here is a potentially bad/good idea:

How about add on DLC that makes the game humorous?

Wouldn't you play it again if they redubbed the characters with bad voice overs who said odd things? Would you not laugh if zombie Crash Bandicoot jumped out at you in a hallway and you had to shoot him instead of some other key enemy in that event? I woudln't mind paying for a DLC mode that added in "teh funny".

This is the reason you're not a game designer... or a comedian.

I've been flapping my hands about trying to elucidate this very fact.

This is straight up bonkers.

I can sympathize with your worry that 60fps will look weird, but it's not because of how it looks compared to "real life." You're comparing it to the look of "real life" through a movie camera, which we are all very accustomed to due to thousands of hours of exposure to film and television.

Also, no framerate will ever look like real life because of the way our eyes work. When you rotate your head around, your eyes repeatedly fix on discrete points in the environment, even if for just a brief instant. You'll never experience the smoothness you see when rotating a camera in a game. These eye jumps (saccades) happen when you're focused on a single moving object as well, again interrupting what would, in a game, appear to be a perfectly smooth motion.

I watched a playthrough of the 'Left Behind' dlc the other day and what a lovely little bit of dlc that was.
Anyway what i was going to say was there is that part where the black girl turns on the power in the mall and they walk around that carousel thats lit up and it was reflecting in the water on the floor and it just looked amazing. I bet we get plenty of screen shots of that bit on here when the PS4 version launches, it should look jaw dropping!.

That's neither a good nor bad idea. It's a shit idea.

I just got an e-mail from Amazon that said my pre-order would arrive June 20. Anyone else get this and was this known?

Edit: Ok I see above other outlets were showing the same date. Just add Amazon to that list then

Christ, no. The little bits of funny stuff in the game is already perfect. Quick moments of levity among such a brutal and depressing atmosphere are far more effective than lame, shoe horned "comedy"

I can't wait to see how Left Behind looks on PS4. I really liked how you could set the survivors and the infected against each other, and it makes disappointed it wasn't in the main game. The black girl's name is Riley BTW :p

I'd love TLOU in 3D... I won't be expecting it though :(

Would be about the only feature to make this version a must buy for me.

What the hell even happened to 3D at Sony?

Last gen they were pushing it with incredible zeal.

This generation they seem totally dispassionate and apathetic torwards it.

What gives?

I don't think 3D televisions are particularly widespread or popular, so it's not worth the time of implementing 3D if not many people are even going to use it.

And how do you magically make
ps4 install base bigger?

Probably by releasing games people want.

Why are you so bitter about a game being released now? What changes 2 years from now that it is then ok to release it.

Getting a real answer out of you is probably expecting too much isn't it? Wake up on the wrong side of the bed today did we?

Nobody huh? Well when the games sells no copies you can claim victory.

Dude, if you're going to make such a fervent push with something, the least you can do is make a ample commitment to it in the future.

AT LEAST, give us some 3D games and BARE MINIMUM 3D Blu-Ray support.

Did I accidentally go to gamefaqs? What the fuck.

I'm buying this game. Several people I know who switched from 360 also want it. So I guess that SOME people might want what was arguably the GOTG to be upgraded for next gen.
Edit: dat new tag.
