'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' trailer (PC/XB1/PS4/360/PS3, Nov 4th) [Up: Info]

Not I think the SP will be any good because it usually isn't, but all those new Respawn influenced additions could be great in multiplayer, superman jumping, climbing on walls, and portable cover to boot. I'm interested to see the mutliplayer reveal.

It is quite puzzling. CoD campaigns are the embodiment of everything wrong with FPS campaigns: Heavily scripted, linear, short, nonsensical, horrible AI, glorified shooting galleries, can't open doors on your own, etc, etc.

That's every other story based FPS. What are you expecting?

Cross Gen? Can't we drop these old consoles already. Too much money to be made still I know :(

They'd be fools not to support last-gen consoles. The install base is huge and still active. These new console are barely six months old. That isn't going to happen for a while, so get used to it.

Activision really are holding onto last gen, shoddy ports to current gen and striking an exclusivity deal with a brand in which is being outsold 2:1.

Xbox 360 ftw.

I really don't see the how the exclusivity deal affects anything. So because the Xbox is selling less, it deserves nothing it gets?

Sony isn't willing to pay up and PS4 owners will buy in regardless. It's a Win-Win for Activision.

well, considering that the game was not supposed to be unveiled until Sunday...i would imagine that is when better quality stuff will start to pop up

good luck...MS is gonna money hat HARD to keep that version under wraps as long as possible...

They have a marketing deal, not sure what they can do to prevent sites from getting their hands on footage and showing it. It doesn't matter to me though, I only have a PS4 right now but honestly from this trailer the game looks like it's going to be a blast to play but graphically underwhelming, hence why I want PS4 footage.

Can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not... You buy cod for the single player...!?
I do as well, as do many other people.

the gaming sites are not going to get their hands on footage because its not going to exist...they are not going to show the PS4 version on stage, in demos, etc...

its a big part of my purchase...its the reason i wouldnt have bought Titanfall even if it was on the PS4....

Do we have any rumors/hints if this is based on a new (which?) engine?
I can assure you it's the old engine yet again 'upgraded onto whole new levels of awesome'. You can even see Black Ops II textures in the trailer and Spacey's face is a dead giveaway.

So, pixel counters, what's the resolution of the "gameplay" in this trailer? 720p again, I'm assuming?

If we're going to be honest, the only difference graphically I see from this footage and previous CODs is the addition of motion blur. Which is an effect I love, btw.

Of course, myself and all my friends.

I think you would be surprised, despite the common notion that people only buy CoD games to play MP it's not the truth.

I haven't finished a cod single player campaign since black ops 1. I haven't even played the first mission in cod ghosts it's just strait to multiplayer for me. In my opinion they should ditch single player like Titanfall and actually make a good multiplayer game.

Soo is Cod Blacksmith a different game?

This is COD Blacksmith. That was the codename.

Game looks pretty good. Great Kevin Spacey model. All I care about with COD is the Campaigns. Looks fun.

People may not like COD, I can't stand the MP, but this is how you make a trailer. Not that boring Destiny style trailer. zzz

Looks pretty and all that. Nice vanity project for Mr Spacey I guess - it certainly wasn't the razor sharp script that got him to sign up! :p

You know why I stop playing COD?

Because its so god dam patriotizing. Its all about America, America, America; just Like BF. I don't care; I don't want to play as anything to do with America. It has been overdone.

Why not play as a Ukrainian fighting the Russians? Why not play as a Greek, in Greece guerilla fighting the Turkish? So much over scenarios; and all they can think about is lets save America (again; like Mario saving princess peach). Frankly I feel like just letting the bad guys win.

wat

I can't speak on Black Ops or Ghosts, but the Modern Warfare series put you in the shoes of British people. Merca was the bad guy.

That would the best thing ever.

I expect people to get bored on them.

But oh wait, Kevin Spacey has 20 lines of dialogue in it! Holy shit, best game ever, pre ordered Prestige Edition Day 1. I've skipped every CoD since MW2, but I'll buy buy this one for sure since a celebrity I like is featured in it.

Edit: Seeing all these posts, like people are scared of the MP. I don't know how one can fore go this. It's like getting half the experience. Why so reluctant?

For me, imo.
THAT is what's lost in Call of Duty. And why i'm sick of it.
Multiplayer has NO value in the players life. It's Spawn, Run n gun...repeat.
Call of Duty 2/3 had more of a sense of survival for the player and more rewarding sets/setting/concept, and speed.
Now,
They just throw anything at the player and is being more unrealistic,..

Ever since i heard IW say they are going after Halo's title for most played game, on Major Nelsons site, Years ago. I knew the franchise was going to focus on Multi only, and turn it into a sprint a thon.
But i still played, and still gave the game a chance.
And, it lost all what i loved.. Single AND mostly Multi

But i'll give this one a chance, but i do have my doubts.
All this is my opinion of course and preference for gaming, i mean no dis respect to players who enjoy the Multi only. That's there preference. I got a problem with Dev and Publishers who can shit, to appeal. And, lose what they had. eg: Tomb Raider.

Why would that be sarcastic?

I bought CoD1-2-4 exclusively for SP. CoD4' multi being brilliant was a nice bonus.

MW2 I also bought for the SP but was also excited for multi.

With trailers like this.

Who on Gods Earth wasn't excited for MW2's campaign. Whether or not you liked it post launch. (I did)

Batman anyone?
Batman doesn't sell on COD levels.

You would also have to take demographics into account, so the type of person who would be buying your game and whether or not that type of gamer would have transitioned to the now current gen consoles yet etc.

Anyway, that's some bad lip syncing. Kinda ruined it for me. Hate bad lip syncing.

The facial animation of Spacey in certain scenes and how stiff he moves is a little poor, to me, but the game itself looks like a lot of fun. Is this finally on a brand new engine or is this still the heavily modified Quake 3 engine?

Not a big supporter of cross gen games either but this post is 100% on point.

not quite...

not quite what? Soap, Price and gang aren't British or the bad guy isn't some Army general that went rogue because he was crying that no one took him seriously

cuz I mean sure you play as Americans, but I doubt anyone could tell you anyone's name aside from Ramirez in whatever game he was from, but that's only because of the meme "Ramirez, do everything"

They were irrelevant in the Modern Warfare series and were probably only second to Makarov in terms of being the antagonist

Cross-gen - so I believe it's the latter.

It's up for preorder on Amazon.co.uk. Platforms are 360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and PC. No Wii U version so far.

The description has a few more details about the game.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, developed by Sledgehammer Games (co-developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3), harnesses the first three-year, all next-gen development cycle in franchise history.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare envisions the powerful battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactics have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise. Delivering a stunning performance, Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey stars as Jonathan Irons – one of the most powerful men in the world – shaping this chilling vision of the future of war.

Power Changes Everything.

An Advanced World:

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare takes place in a plausible future in which technological progress and today’s military practices have converged with powerful consequences.
In this carefully researched and crafted vision of the future, Private Military Corporations (PMCs) have become the dominant armed forces for countless nations outsourcing their military needs, redrawing borders and rewriting the rules of war.
And Jonathan Irons, the founder and president of the world’s largest PMC - Atlas Corporation - is at the center of it all.

An Advanced Soldier:
Powerful exoskeletons evolve every aspect of a soldier’s battle readiness, enabling combatants to deploy with an advanced lethality and eliminating the need for specialization.
The introduction of this gameplay mechanic delivers enhanced player movement and verticality through boost jumps and grappling, covert cloaking abilities, and biomechanics that provide unparalleled strength, awareness, endurance, and speed.
With the advent of the exoskeleton and newly advanced armor and weaponry, every soldier commands tactical freedom in any terrain unlike ever before, fundamentally changing the way gamers play Call of Duty across all modes.

An Advanced Arsenal:
Harnessing the power of next-gen platforms, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare brings players into the battlegrounds of the future by boasting a new hi-tech, advanced arsenal and ability set, arming players with all-new equipment, technology, perks, and vehicles like hoverbikes and highly specialized drones.
Players can also choose between standard ammunition and an all-new class of directed-energy weaponry that enables totally new gameplay dynamics.
And with exoskeletons delivering a massive force multiplier and unprecedented tactical freedom, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare evolves every firefight.

Pretty cool trailer. This looks like it'll be pretty crazy as far as the campaign goes. Looking forward to the multiplayer details.

But they're not boring games for the very reasons you listed. You can clearly see that in the trailer. And you're buying this too, because Kevin Spacey is in it? You know, just like people here have expressed in the way I've quoted! So you're just like everyone else that's excited then.

I'm confused what you're trying to say.

Look at the flames on the bridge. I haven't seen anything like that in previous CoDs.
