So how do I save my game? I reached Captain Flynt last night and died. Respwaned at the nearest checkpoint and closed the game using PS button and swipe down. Today when I loaded up I had to go from all the way Liar berg's. How do I save the game? Do I need to manually quit from menu?
Hit start, quit. Will prompt you to save.

So, if I don't have a North American PSN account, I can't access the included DLC on the US release of this? Or is the DLC included the patch?

Ok. I've played for about 2 hrs. and all I can say is fucking WOW, Borderlands in my hands. What the fuck are the reviewers smoking, ok slight fps drops, but it's IN MY HANDS, I rather play this way than wait for the portables that would play it 60fps. this is more than good enough. it's great.

I agree that it's fantastic to be able to play BL2 on the go like this, but you can't pretend issues aren't present. The FPS drops are prevalent but not game breaking, the delay on damage numbers is annoying, and the crashes are absolutely inexcusable. I have already stopped playing because I don't want to have my game crash and loose more progress. Once they patch whatever leak or issue is causing all these crashes, I'll consider this a magnificent success.

Got to sanctuary. Holy framerate! So as a layman, why does this happen? If I can have a smooth framerate in an area with lots of action, how come it gets choppy in what's basically a hub area?

How does BL2 compare to AC3 Liberation or NFS:MW in terms of framerate?

(Personally I found NFS:MW to be tolerable while AC3:L was so bad that I couldn't keep playing the game despite wanting to finish it and not waste the money I spent on a digital copy.)

EDIT: Also, I don't trust Metacritic user reviews this early after release. CoD: Black Ops Declassified had the most glowing user reviews during the first weeks and now the average user score is 4.8.

Because the hub is covered in NPC's with dialog options I guess. Lots of geometry in a confined area as well.

sure, every game has it's issues. No reason for reviewers to give this anything lower than a 7 IMO. No crashes here yet.

Thats dumb and with respawning enemies it will male the game a chore.

Huh, it takes like two minutes to get back to Flynn from Liar's Berg. Plus you can just run by all the enemies and typically only the very last set will still be interested, just kill those and continue on your way. In my 50+ hours on the PS3 version starting a save from the last fast travel station was never much of an inconvenience. Plus (unless I am totally remembering this wrong) enemy level in an area is decided based on the first time you get there, so as you level up and get better loot, the respawning enemies don't, and the area gets easier.

Hah, you know nothing of the pain. Try playing it on a console where suspend and resume isn't a thing, then you can really moan. Seriously tho I don't mind it most of the time, fucked me over badly once or twice tho.

Thanks guys. Guess will just run through them.

Patch 1.02 is out (54 MB) and it fixes various bugs. No details apart from it. :/

performance seems slightly improved for me but that might just be because of the restart of the game for the update. Man, this is so awesome. I can't stop playing it.

I played this last night on my 2000 model, and so far, so good. Framerate is a bit skippy, and there was some noticeable input lag, but otherwise gameplay is OK.

The intro videos were stuttering though, which I found odd.

I want to install the update, but I don't want to lose 400 stacks of anarchy. I found a jacobs revolver that does more damage than most sniper rifles I'm coming across, and between it and the Conference call, I'm wrecking everything.

this is weird but if you guys want to, maybe just drop the Iron Galaxy a guys a tweet or two especially if you enjoy the work they've done with Borderlands 2 Vita!

I would guess it's pretty discouraging/depressing to hear all the critics slam what you've thought is a solid piece of work!

hopefully, our positive words can encourage them to keep the support for the game coming!

I agree. They favorited one of my tweets. Just being able to play this on Vita is good enough for me. If they can patch a few things then all should be good. Either way I am really enjoying the game and dont want it to end.

Walmart doesn't have just the game on their website, and neither does my local game store. I'm going to go in later, hopefully they just didn't list it.

I actually quite like this idea. Especially as they've been working at it for god knows how long trying to do the best job possible, only to be greeted with reviews that constantly compare it to the PC version running on 3 Titans in SLI.*

Kotaku said:
"Where is the PhysX support? It doesn't support 4k resolutions. Incompatible with mouse and keyboard, 1/10"

* Yes, I know this is a vast exaggeration, but if they're allowed to do it in their reviews, i'll do it when i'm criticising their reviews.

I don't think anyone is going to say that BL2 is best on Vita.

probably not :p haha but I've been tweeting that tag quite a bit for the games I'll like to play on the Vita... so I thought it'll be nice to include it.

in a way, if you want a portable BL2 experience, it's kinda #BestOnVita ain't :p

Those reviews are infuriating and confusing - more from the perspective of this game being totally translated over, in terms of (most importantly) gameplay, content and extra mission DLC yet it doesnt compare to home consoles/PC so it's marked down (I'd argue it does compare to the console versions). Seriously, what the fuck did they expect? There are frame rate dips at times, yes, but none game breaking or affecting the gameplay in my opinion. The line about feeling like the character is underwater is, like I said earlier, just straight out bullshit.

Does the game play well? yes. Is it one of the largest, most content rich handheld titles ever? yes. does it look and sound great? yes? 5 out of 10.

I swear that latest update has made the game play smoother. Maybe it was a placebo update!

Let's vote with our wallets. I'll certainly be picking a copy up.

I microwave steaks.
Just picked up my physical copy, the card comes included with a digital redemption code for the 6 extra add ons, sad it's not on the cart. Also, some artwork on the reverse side.

They're obviously not built-in to the game so they can work around the 3.something GB limitation of game cards.

Tweeted them. Sad that some reviews may spoil sales. Of course it doesn't look like PS3, but it looks amazing! I kept forgetting I wasn't playing Remote Play while playing the game. It truly is amazing and is quite an accomplishment to put all of the stuff they did on the Vita.

not sure if its been covered already, but can someone tell me why everytime im selling items at a vending machine it sells things that i dont want to sell without me even pushing the button? constantly happens and it makes me have to buyback weapons, its killing my money.

the buyback tab on the vending machine charges you the same amount that they gave you in the sale, so not sure how it's killing your money. Are you accidentally hitting the button to sell all the items you had flagged as "junk" and you're somehow accidentally flagging your gear as junk?

Is anyone else finding tons of legendary drops? during my multiple playthroughs before, I found 1 or 2 legendaries total. Now I've found 7 in one go.

That's a Borderlands 2 problem. It only remembers the last checkpoint, and it's a long time between checkpoints at that portion of the game. You pretty much have to get to Flynt and beat him in one sitting.

(Beat the game on the PC, not really interested in a copy for the Vita.)

I already got 2 Infinity pistols. I'm hoping the drop rates are generous. Legendary drop rate was part of the reason I stopped playing on Pc.

Does anyone know if transferring characters from PC -> PS3 -> Vita will keep badass rank? I have 31K badass rank and would rather not lose it :<

From what I read somewhere the badass rank is kept in a different file than the save itself. The guide mentioned it should be possible to transfer it, although I don't honestly know which file it is.

I have 4 characters at near level 20 now and one of them is level 24. I have found 0 legendaries.

BADASS ranks are NOT character specific and do not transfer between platforms.

So cross save isn't working yet, correct? If it isn't, can I start a game with a new class and transfer my two PS3 classes over when it is available? It's just one save per character, correct?

And someone should tweet at Greg Miller and ask him to tweet the hashtags (he helped get this whole port started with a suggestion to Pitchford, and he has a huge following).

I'd like to know that also. When and the details.
