Now that all the commotion has died down, I'll share the PS3 number.
Last April:
PS3: 100.7K
This April:
PS3: -65% YOY
PS3: -47% MOM

So 67k in March, 35k in April. Farewell, PS3.
Wow, even the Wii U was higher than the PS3.
The rapid drop off in PS3 numbers is directly proportional to the availability of PS4. 360 has yet to show the same trend.

I didn't know much about the 360's dominance until I saw some of these threads... I mean 30+ months for the 360 as top selling hardware? I think all that we got was Wii + Wii U + 3DS < PS4 or something :/

Right, 3DS + Wii + Wii U <PS4, but we don't know by how much.
Wii + 3DS > 151k
If we use 15k for Wii (total guess based on down 25% MoM) we have 3DS < 136k. Which still leaves a big range inside the realm of possibility.
MS's PR generally ignores 3DS so that tells us nothing.
22nm Cell (down from 45nm) has been ready since last year. I think we're getting a new PS3 model this year.

3DS will be less than 115K, if the statement linked in the OP includes handhelds (which it should, since Liam Callahan has used the same terminology before.)

The gap was too large four years ago, it's a testament to the Wii's success that neither the PS3 nor the X360 could catch up in nearly half a decade.

Wait, if PS4 is ~199k, Wii U is ~49k, and 3DS is ~115k, that'd make the Wii ~35k? The Wii sold the same amount as the PS3 last month?

Less than is not the same as equal to. So no, the 3DS and the Wii are not 115K and 35K respectively, they are simply less than those numbers. They could be 0 and 0 respectively.

Yeah, the gap was waaay too big to overcome. Though they had a good run, really. The PS3 especially has done pretty well in the last few years. Odd that none of the Wii's success really rubbed off on the Wii U. I wonder if Nintendo was hoping that it'd perform just as well. :/

Based on what. Upper bounds give upper bounds. Nothing more.
The 3DS and Wii could be 0 and 0, and the statements that the 3DS is less than the XBO and Wii+WiiU+3DS<PS4 still hold true.
The likelihood of the Wii increasing from 28K in 5-week March to 35K in April is incredibly low.
