Watch_Dogs |OT| PS4 would probably melt trying to do this

Chamber

love on your sleeve
Guy in the stream is playing this like GTA. I hope there's more ways to complete missions than just pulling out a gun.

Are a lot of people going digital for this game? I just want to hear the pros and cons for why. Only games I'm eben thinking of going digital for is Destiny and The Division.

I'm not going digital for any retail releases. Large installations means it's going to be necessary to delete and reinstall games a fair bit and I'd rather not have to download them all over again.

Watched a couple of streams, and I think we are up for a big disappointment. Sure it will get the mandatory 8's from the igns of the world, but I suppose I will check GAF in a couple of months to see if there's any value here.

Wait, are you talking about descriptions on people or the reputation system? Because the reputation system alters how citizens and the media will see you.

Descriptions. A recent interview said if you shot a guys wife he would remember - I'm guessing that has more to do with the character building system than the reputation system which would just be more or less people calling the cops on you - and hinted that "characters" created would be re-entered into the world (interview said from a database) which sounded really interesting.

Anyone recommend picking up the Digital Deluxe edition? About to pull the trigger on the Steam version, and while it's a ten dollar difference, not really sure it'll be worth it.

I'm feeling the same here.

I can trade in Fifa 14 and Lego Marvel for Ps4 and get Watch_Dogs vanilla for a dollar... Though I want the DLC...

Choices!! If the gold edition was on UK PSN I wouldn't even be thinking about this.

Oh that. No clue, I can ask but I doubt we'll truly see until people get their hands on the game.

I'm in for this on 360 simply because I'm bored with Titanfall and there is shit all coming out this summer that looks remotely interesting.

Why do you think we're in for a disappointment? I've been watching this stream for like an hour now and I think it looks awesome. And the stream I'm watching is the 360 version.

Well, everything except the guy playing. I mean, I know he's trying to aim with an analog stick, but c'mon, nobody should be THIS bad.

Doesn't help that it's like a 30 second load each time he dies.

It's a gut feeling, I concede that. Clearly I've not played the game. For once the character seems very uninteresting.
But I mainly feel the gameplay doesn't seem polished enough, or varied. There's alot of smoke and mirrors, as it's usual in an open world game, but I can clearly see the old tricks poorly performed on the screen. I guess it's tough to live in a post-gtav world.

Yeah the loading seems really bad. Hopefully it'll be better on PS4/XB1/PC. And lol he really is not very good.. I keep seeing all the stuff I would do if I was playing and it's super frustrating.

Yeah, GTA V knocked it out of the park last year. I imagine that's part of the reason Ubi delayed it.

But the only way to know is to wait til the release. Even then, I think it'll be amazing for some people and disappointing for others. Watch_Dogs is divisive like that.

For an Xbox360 the game looks very good.

I stopped watching because I don't want spoilers, but for now everything seems to click quite nicely. The guy plays quite badly but even he managed to pull some interesting hacks, it's quite cool how many options you have for each mission based on hacking.

As for Aidan, honestly I'll need to play the game to fully understand whether I like him as a character. AC series have good protagonists (although Connor was lacking), so I'll give Ubisoft a benefit of the doubt. In any case it can't be worse than characters in GTA. I don;t see the appeal impersonalting a morally corrupt, despicable and (in case of Trevor) absolutely disgusting character. Even as a joke, I find most of the stuff in GTA rather offensive. Therefore, I'm eager to explore a more realistic take on the sandbox.

Based on the stream this looks like one of those games where you get what you put in. If you play it like a third person shooter and go around blasting everything you're going to have a dull experience.

Well, that might be one of the first things i'll try. Catch me if you can cops.

I should have worded it better, not talking about a pure rampage. Those are fun in moderation. Solving every problem the game throws at you like it's a third person shooter seems dull and not the best experience in Watch Dogs.

The game really does give you some options. There are even projected vehicle routes for certain VIPs in missions; you could snipe them, ram them with your car, use hacks to burst a steam pipe or raise a barrier etc.

Yeah I was really digging that.

This game is positive for the industry and open-world games as a whole. It can bring some competition to Rockstar's table and raise the bar in some areas.

At this point and having the above in mind, I have to say I'm more interested in exploring and trying the depth of WD.

This game looks like it controls much better than GTA V and the stealth system is not hot balls. I need this

EDIT: I also like how they have the cover system from Splinter Cell Conviction and Blackilist in here.

I'm deciding on whether I want to get this on launch, but the multiplayer aspect is really worrying me, although admittedly I haven't done much research on it. I'm okay with the whole invading thing in Dark Souls, but in open world games I prefer to just play by myself and don't want people hacking me all the time. I know I can always play offline, but I'm wondering if that will detract from the experience at all or if there are any options for this.

You can turn off the invasions in the options. Don't worry!

I can understand why some people feel this game will disappoint. I also feel the same. It's currently preorder at my gamestop but I will see what some gaffers say about watch_dogs. I need some ps4 games anyways..

I need to see some more footage, honestly. Last I saw this game looked terribly bland and ugly. That was around Feb/Mar. so things may have turned around.

also on the stream was 360 footage, I'll make my judgement after I see some ps4 footage leaked, and not small amounts, like a stream

The system is pretty dynamic, so not only can you turn off the feature entirely (as mentioned above), but the game will also make sure it doesn't happen during missions. I think Ubi also stated that people who invade often open their games up more for others to invade, while those who abstain are more likely to be left alone.

what was everyone's reaction on the "downgrade" then?

I remember seeing the original E3 trailer and coming away mightily impressed like most, seeing the infamous gif and becoming angry at publishers' practices of misleading footage (I think I said i hope it crashes and burns lol, was sure I was going to hold back for impressions. After a while the nvidia tech trailer for PC and origin India pricing error were enough to sway me back in.

It's been a strange ride, and the games not even out yet. vidya gaems man.

Ok, again, I'm going to just hold off until PS4 footage is released because what I'm seeing right now doesn't look impressive. Could be the stream quality idk. GTAV-esque and even that seems generous. And I'm not one to obsess over graphics and such.

I think this is the 360 version. I would like to see some direct uncompressed ps4 screencaptures which will probably appear before monday.
