Dude is on the record saying he doesnt want 7,8 and 9, hates prequels, "sick of" the clone wars.. I don't think it's unfair for Star Wars fans to question his suitability, especially since he has yet to be creatively involved in a good movie.

He was saying that as a fan though. If somebody actually gave you a chance and say "hey, what do you think should happen?" Wouldn't you do everythingin your power to not fuck it up?

This stuff is going to GAF history haha.

I'm sure the mods would have just nuked the thread if he asked.

Hahaha, why would they? They didn't do it when Titanfall gameplay leaked (NeoGAF doesn't have the duty to respect NDA's), they only did it with a cease & desist letter from EA because of the huge Mass Effect 3 leak. Why would they do it for a user that was writing an opinion?

Gonna have to edit some more. Dude on some other forum got some interesting posts from him on here :p
NeoGaf-> Internet-> NeoGaf

He's not wrong though. At least he knows they sucked and maybe he can do justice to the franchise.

If they think that his opinions of terrible stuff that Lucas did to the franchise means that he can't do a good job, then they're drinking one hell of a Kool Aid.

Doubt anyone at Disney/Lucasfilms reads this or feels different from him. At least Lucas is not involved, so it's not like they have to respect even his opinions when he shouldn't touch the IP with a ten feet pole.

Yes, lets all post under real names so we can worry about employers finding old posts where we posted honest opinions. Yay! And yay for employers even giving a shit about old posts on a message board. Woo!!

Best necrothread bump.

Nah, that's still that guy that waited years to be proven right and then bumped the thread. Can't find it now, maybe another gaffer can help. This one is good though.

Joking aside, if Whitta loses the gig because some turd broke this into the mainstream press I'm never going to forgive them. Hating on the prequels is a good thing for the future of the series.

Congrats and good luck Gary. Hope all these shallow graves on neogaf filled with your thoughts on the prequels and the SEs don't trip you up

Can't you use some magical mod powers to wipe the slate?

A "fan", right. He's such a fan he has to edit out all of his "fan" commentary. I'm no screenwriter so I can't comment on your hypothetical, but I can say that the best reasons not to hire Gary Whitta are not these posts but his own previous work.

Still without luck

And it shows he has a deep passion for the series. I see no reason he needed to do what he did.

Firing someone because they hate the prequels and/or Lucas bastardizing the OT would be a sign that Disney has no idea what it's doing.

Yeah perhaps this should be deleted to cover Gary's ass? Might be a good thing to do.

As funny as it is, I'd hate to see someone lose a huge opportunity over it.

he's right about the prequels being trash but still this is hilarious.

also there's one good change in the OT. the return of the jedi ending. the original ending was terrible.

Yep, amazing ownage.

I can see why he did though. It would look really bad on him if someone went back, and saw the thread with all his posts about the edits. It would have looked bad on him either way.

Looking through those posts at TheForce.Net.

Yikes @ this one:

George Lucas Making Changes to Star Wars Saga... Again

What a dumbass.

The Internet never forgets.

Then throw him a bone and delete his account before all the screencapping is done.

I doubt his opinions on the prequels and such has changed. Like many people on this thread has said, he probably did this for job security. I agree with his opinions on Star Wars. And having good knowledge of past mistakes definitely would help on future decisions. I have no idea if he's gonna do a good job, but I'm pretty sure he'll do alot better than those prequels ever did.
