The blue in that screenshot seems to be from Player 2 highlighting the square.

That said, while it is, on the whole, pretty convincing, this last one tips it into fake for me, because why the heck wouldn't they just show the highlighted character? I mean, come on.

Has one of these tilted angle shot pictures ever been real? Especially from an angle like this? Like I could understand if someone had a tilted shot because they took the picture through a door or something, but what must someone do to take a picture from such a bizarre angle like this?

I believe Greninja and Hawlucha were both leaked before Pokemon X/Y came out through "shitty offscreen camera" pics. So it's not outside the realm of possibility (though it really lends to credence to this or any other leak, just as far as sheer volume of faked shots go).

shitty Offscreen camera is expected. But I don't remember either of those being from super awkward camera angles

Legitimacy aside, what do people think of having 51+ characters? Realistic? Too many?
I personally think (hope) the number will probably fall within 48-54

If the pictures are true, there would be 54 slots (probably one being random). It's not out of the realm of possibility, but I would say that it's about the limit.

Anyone who is revealing multiple pictures that only reveal a portion of the screen obviously wants people to analyze their fake leak. Anyone who actually leaked something would take one picture of the whole screen and call it a day. This is so obviously fake it may as well have been drawn in MS Paint.

Brawl's character select screen was first leaked via a Photoshop mockup.

That's because Brawl itself didn't have any ? icons. The character roster just expanded as you unlocked more characters. It's possible they brought those icons back from the original game and Melee (with locks instead of question marks).

Do you really think they'd make you go through all those question marks in a demo? Demos are usually as streamlined as possible.

Even that makes more sense though, because it would imply the person didn't have the ability to take pics at the time when he was seeing the leak (Which makes sense since I doubt many people are allowed to go completely unsupervised to work with these things, and it'd be a greater risk if someone could catch you taking a picture).

They're all at the beginning and right next to each other though. There's no ?'s between characters. Having long sets of question marks between the playable characters is just bad design.

Not to mention there's a difference in spoiling roster size in a game like Smash where each character is an exciting reveal, and spoiling roster size in a golf game

Adding to this, the entire roster of the golf game was already revealed at that point, and that demo was likely made from the final build of the game.

I'd love for this to be real, but there's no way in hell Nintendo would put out a demo and basically confirm the total number of characters in the final build

Edit: 51 characters? Yeah right

Dunno why the guy releases the 3rd image, any chance of people buying it died when he expected us to believe there were unlockables in the demo

This is also about a 2 week too early, odds are Nintendo vendors won't get the demo stuff until next week and they'll be delivering them that weekend before e3
