This just reminds me of all those screenshots before Brawl's release with Wolf, Falco, and I think Toon Link's FS and nobody wanted to believe that they were the same as Fox and Link's respectivelly.

Awkward angles always make pictures seem fake, but that is a damn solid effort if nothing else. The transparency of Marth is akin to the other games before a character was locked in, and the smash symbol on the locks is a really nice touch.

1. Took 3 pics, but none straight. Clearly doesn't want us to see the big picture.
   
2. Suddenly 2 new characters are unlocked in the third shot for no reason whatsoever.
   
3. Ridley being in, yet he doesn't show the picture itself but only the Y, because he has no freakin' original render to put there. It'd be spotted immediately as a fake if he showed a custom model or an old one.

That's not the point.

Smash 64 was 100% question marks.
Melee was 50/50 question marks, with actual unlockables being shown off, and clones hidden
Brawl was 100% hidden with the roster adjusting until everyone was unlocked, where it lined up thematically.

Clear transition towards what brawl was doing, and I don't see them going back, especially NOT for a DEMO. Why would you want to reveal final playable roster at E3 unless you don't plan on doing unlockables?

If the final game has 'locks', whatever, the whole internet will know how many characters there are to unlock by then. I don't care. The best buy demo!? No way.

Wolf,lucas and Ike were on my out list, after the ike reveal i'm not sure anymore but I still have a feeling wolf and lucas might get the boot.

Wolf was supposed to be in for a while , and he is quite popular. And Lucas is the last mother protagonist, like the last one . There will be no more mother protagonists ever.

So that fake UI reminded me that they're gonna have to change how teams are selected. It used to be with the alt color select button or just clicking on the character. Yea, nothing that important lol.

Minor nitpick regarding Pit

His old Up B definitely wasn't overpowered. Pit couldn't recover after being hit in the midst of it, and there was a delay before he could travel.

His new one looks significantly better.

I don't think there are many times where you can find Pit low enough that he can be hit and fall to his death.

It was known before Ike was revealed, 2 days I think.

I don't think many people are interested because it is a 3rd-party doing it and it is connected to the Wiimote.

This is factually wrong. Smash 64 had all hidden characters in the roster, and Melee all non-clones.

And transition or not, Melee's 50/50 thing also is arguable because the clones were, well, clones, not full-fledged unique characters. I doubt that Smash 4 will have any clones like Melee did, and I'm sure there was an effort to further declone the clones that survived the cut to Brawl.

I feel almost as often as Ridley gets brought up we have to point out in fact Brawl was the odd ball again by being the only game not to have ? blocks with it's starting roster, same as it being the only game to put franchises vertically.

I don't think there are many times where you can find Pit low enough that he can be hit and fall to his death.

Well, it's not just about being low; his opponents can chase him down can prevent him recovering with his Up B. It's not a huge problem, because Pit usually recovers with his glide / jumps.

Though, I guess his vertical recovery ability was pretty incredible.

Agreed. Anything else would be a pleasant surprise. Not to mention, aug 14 is hyrule warriors in japan, which should be a relatively decent selling game. If smash 4 has 'global launch' like pokemon, we definitely won't see it mid august.
