Battlefield: Hardline Gameplay Trailer leaked [Up: 6 month old build]

Good way to handle it:
"EA let DICE push out a piece of crap. Even if it's fixed now, it took months. I'll take a wait and see approach on this to see if they learned their lesson."

Bad way to handle it:
"EA let DICE push out a piece of crap. Even if it's fixed now, it took months. As a result, EA and every other studio that is published by them can burn in a fire until the ends of time. I shall never consider them again!"

Seriously, is this how you people argue? Putting hyperbolic statements in other people's mouths? Where did I even imply any of those examples?

Also, do you hear yourself? "Even if it's fixed now, it took months", how isn't this wrong? And why would any self-respecting customer not have the right to refuse to buy or at least be highly skeptical about a company who lets products out in such condition?

And DICE Sweden made BF4, not Visceral. How can you say it's Visceral's fault for the BF4 issues?

Is EA supposed to blow up the studio and move them all to Sweden? That doesn't make sense at all, dude.

The fact a portion of DICE Sweden's workforce now works with Visceral in BF:H is precisely why people are skeptical. No one said it was Visceral's fault. Where did I say that? Again, you people are just saying what you want to hear in order to rationalize your own decisions. You can buy the game for all your family and friends for all I care.

And (again), I didn't say move them all to Sweden. You said they were a different studio, I said that a chunk of the DICE studio is now part of Visceral; to think this has no effect on the game is gullible at best.

That looks fucking awesome!

Not the best graphics in the world but it looks like it will be super fun to play with a shiton of different modes!

I am on the hype train!

Is it just me or does this guy from the trailer look EXACTLY like Reggie (Delsin's brother) from Infamous Second Son? I mean it's identical. He even sounds like him.

To be honest, he kinda looks like Christian Bale's character from American Pyscho

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Well it looks like the tools are there to play tactically as long as they allow private lobbies unlike the evil DICE overlords that is

Not to sound like a dick, but shut it:

Thi hasn't been relevant since BF3 and the introduction of "rent-a-server" on consoles nor has it been relevant on PC ever.

Get a server, password it: Let other people know the IP/name to look for and the password. "Private Lobbies!"

Hell, it wasn't relevant in BC1 or 2 either, but you had the stupid limitation of getting a full 16 players to "make a private server"/make a private game.

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat didn't have that restriction (IIRC) it was similar to BF3/4 where passwording your server meant it was "private."

No, you shut it.
I shouldn't be forced to pay money to play privately with friends when I already gave them 110$. Not when almost every other AAA shooter lets me do it for free. I don't need dedicated servers for 10v10 or 5v5.
It's greed, it's pathetic, and there's no justification for it.

That is almost definitely Travis Willingham at the 2:20 mark. They seem to have used his face for the character on top of his voice being pretty distinctive. Between Infamous and this hopefully that means he's picking up bigger video game work, he was awesome in Fullmetal Alchemist.

Here I was hoping I'd finally be getting that SWAT 4-style FPS I've been waiting for since SWAT 4, and instead I get this shit directed by Michael Bay!

A million rounds being fired a second; explosions everywhere. MORE ACTION THAN ANY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY HAS SEEN IN THEIR ENTIRE HISTORY PACKED INTO THE FIRST FUCKING MINUTE OF FOOTAGE.

Sorry, I just had to vent.

I'm out.

I guess you haven't seen this:

Learned my lesson after BF4... but if this ends up playing well and is mostly bug free... i'll most def be picking this up. Waiting on others to be beta testers this time.

Looks good. Only thing left is to see if they managed to top themesleves and make the battlefield theme even shittier by evolving it into pure sounds of Skrillex shitting himself.

I think it looks too much like battlefield 4. I was expecting something a little bit different.
Something like the bad company games. Smaller maps, no airplanes. More focused combat.

Huh. In games the character models are protected by law, and you can't use anyone else's in your game. But now that we just turn actors into models, does it work like movies? They can't be the same character, but the actor looks the same? How do we feel about all games having the same set of actors now?

Magneto is the main villain?

Dang man, you got that in fast! The movie has been out a week right?

I will wait 3 months to buy the game, Open world esque games have several issues in launch day and knowing DICE they would say "Oh we didnt expect to see so much players playing our game! Thanks for playing our game" before the servers chrasing and people getting about about the game, again

more focused combat? I think that's because bc2 caters to rush while bf4 caters to conquest

Trailer looks fun and different.

The press on this title has been botched completely though. They should have done a full reveal once the first leaks started.

Right here. Took the words right out of my mouth. BF4 hurt and it hurt really bad, so bad in fact I wouldn't buy any BF game ever again. Till I'm given evidence that this game(or any others) is not the same abomination of BF4 release, I shall not get hype in the slightest degree.

When I first heard the rumours about a Cops vs Robbers Battlefield game I was picturing something a little more tactical like Rainbow Six. To me this looks like Battlefield 3 with some new game modes.

To me it just felt like two armies fighting against each other instead of law enforcement versus criminals.

?? They're paying for likenesses when they use the actor's face. That likeness is the actor's to sell so that actor can sell it to someone else (unless they signed an exclusive contract). It's exactly the same as movies. Also, I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of different actors this generation.

Vehicles, for one thing. Playing as cops would be another. Did you watch the trailer?

Yes I did already.

They are changing a co-op experience into a competitive experience.

I really liked the close quarters expansion for BF3.

Is it logical to have 32 robbers vs. 32 cops? :S

I expect MP to be broken for months but I'm pretty excited about single player campaign. Hopefully it will be better than that silly Call of Juarez cartel game.

Why are we seeing military weapons and vehicles in this game?

I'm not really impressed by the trailer. It looks just like Battlefield 4.

Too many explosions and rocket launchers for this to be a 'cops and robbers' game. I was hoping for a SWAT/Raven Shield style game; close quarter battles set out in urban settings. Blergh.

We don't know if it'll be 64 players. 16 vs 16 would make more sense to me.

Guns and animations better be placeholders, even the vietnam dlc for BC2 had more work put into it. So far I'm still sticking with advanced warfare this year as my multiplayer fps of choice...

Whenever you complain about a CG trailer...
Whenever you complain about devs/pubs not being open enough with their information...
Whenever you see a super highly edited trailer that doesn't look like the final product...

Remember this thread. I'm sorry but how dumb do you have to be to think a video that says do not distribute and constantly refers to the game using its codename is completely representative of the final product? I swear this is a perfect example of why we get spoon fed bullshit all the time. Because apparently people bloody need it. And if a thread on GAF looks like this I can't imagine what the rest of the world will think. Sucks for EA.

That being said the concepts they talked about in the video got me very interested.

Interesting twist on the BF series. Still don't like how the guns look from the first-person perspective. That's always been a weird thing with BF games though.

My thoughts exactly.

I think the game looks like a clusterfuck tbh. Explosions... explosions everywhere.
