Thanks for the info I will keep all of this in mind.

Holy shit. Brand spanking new?

FRESH MEAT OVER HERE GUYS.

Haha. Start with attrition first. Get your bearings and some weapon unlocks before you hit the campaign to get your titans. Keep moving. Keep farming grunts and spectres and utilize the vertical plane in the game.

Add me. I'll game with ya. GT: Majjam

Brilliant I will add you as soon as I get all my installs done... going to take a while I hear.

Game seems very close to dead on PC. I can't get into a game in less than 10 minutes. At that point I'd rather go play something else.

Very sad, because I had a really great time with it, when it was easy to get into games. At 70 hours I still consider I got my money worth, I guess.

That does not sound very convincing, and it is actually quite sad. I thought this would be a stellar game on the PC.

I got my 5 Goosers within 3-4 matches, surprisingly. Chaingun putting in work. Now, about those Arc Cannon Doomed Titans...

I sent you a PM, asking for more details if you have the chance.

Because 10 minutes, damn.

Rayme is the man! Not only does he respond to concerns and comments he also represents Commander Keitth. No one can argue with Keith being the best member of Voltron Force.

I now read 'Epilogue: Destroy all Enemy Pilots" and "Epilogue: Get to the Extraction point" as "Epilogue go for them Gen Challenges!"

So they put me in a Titanfall/xbone commercial. Filmed outside chilly Pittsburg.

It was my first visit to Pittsburg. The night before, I found an improv theater and performed with the cast in the post show jam. Turns out east coast improv is a lot like west coast improv.

Haha, nice! You look so damn serious when Aaron is trying to talk to you. Like, "Dude. I'm trying to play. Shhhhh!"

I literally am speechless that we almost lost this, I'm so, so, so, so, so tired of randoms.

Like, what will it take for me to guarantee a victory? Because I'll do it! I guess I deserve it for playing Attrition, usually I do Pilot Hunter but this was my first time playing in a few weeks so I jumped into Attrition :/

Stim + running from point to point in hard point. Went 43-3 in one day doing that.

Titan decals and a new game mode "Marked for Death" being shown next week at E3.Hopefully it's released next week as well and features some game tweaks (Satchel charge nerf please!!!).

Lol @ the last sentence. I'd be shocked if the carbine and satchels were nerfed. Especially if this team does the same crap they did in never fixing the UMP/SCAR/ACR/TAR in the last game they worked on.

Regardless, can't wait to play them in September on the 360!

Their last game had the most balance issues of any, popular, multiplayer game to date, but it was still fun as hell, at times!

I use Stim all the time, I don't even play Hardpoint anymore because I'll end up with 3-4 thousand points of offense and 2-3 thousand of defense and we'll still lose. It's not worth the time anymore.

Dunno where to post this/or if it is thread worthy, but in the last The Patch podcast at the 19 minute mark RoosterTeeth revealed that Respawn will be showing off some Titanfall DLC during RTX (July 4-6).

Should be the next batch of maps if what they're showing at E3 will be the June title update.

Getting the Titanfall Xboxone bundle in the mail today. After downloading the game I am jumping right in for the weekend.

Any recommendations for a newbie to First Person Shooters?

Feel free to add me. GT is ArkkAngel007

As for tips (in addition to the contributions of Jito and TrueGrime):

  • Arc Grenades instantly kill all nearby Grunts and Spectres. A great, low-profile option to accumulate loads of Attrition points and knock off your build time. Combine with Burn cards Urban Renewal and Thin the Ranks to roll in XP and quickly call in your Titans.
  • You can use your burn cards at the beginning of a match, instead of waiting to die. Thin the Ranks, Map Hack, Shock Rocks, and Titan call cards are fantastic options to lead off with.
  • Don't be afraid to retreat in a Titan fight. Use everything you can as cover so you can minimize damage to your Titan. Titan's go down very quickly.
  • Try and tag along with someone to help learn routes, but don't go in blind if they are camping or sticking on the ground/conventional routes.

I learned some of the spawning spots in CTF. I just had a 37 kills Outpost CTF game. 2 flag returns and no cap. How do you guys feel about CTF spawn campers? I feel somewhat bad about the style of play but I am also helping the team by pushing the enemy back.

Spawn camping is always a complete asshole move that's generally for people who can't do well if they play the game correctly and it ruins the game completely for the other team.

Don't do it. Go back to CoD if you're going to be "skilled" and spawn trap.

Sorry if this is harsh, but I don't want Titanfall ruined by this bullshit like CoD is.

Have to share this view. Breaks the flow of the game, if not the entire match (Killzone games, especially 2 and SF).

Slamming the entire team in can help your team, but it's often much better to play the objectives. In something like CTF, you know where the majority of that team will be anyways. Just control the traffic routes and objectives and you'll keep the match moving.

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
I just got the "I Killed Them All" Achievement. Holy crap. I never thought I would get that one, but now I can actually get all of the achievements.

Please don't ever add another achievement like this one again, Respawn. I really think it's completely based on luck rather than skill, and I don't think many people are going to be able to realistically get it barring good fortune.

Well after the awesome gen 5. I'm raging out In gen 6. It'll be the first gen I didn't complete the challenges before 50. At 49 right now. Still need 23 more rodeo kills (hate this challenge with a passion) and 8 mag launcher dooms.

If it's any consolation, Generation 7 is really, really easy. With that said, Generation 8 is probably one of the worst... >_>

Yeah gen 7 looks like cake. Gen 8 horror stories scare me though. Spitfire really fucking sucks too. Gets beat In every situation. It's only good for brain surgeon

Death from Above is what makes Gen 8 so bad. But once you get everything but the Winning 100 matches challenge it's actually pretty refreshing to just "play the game" for a while and not have to worry about challenges.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for. I love the game but completely changing how I play sucks. Like I'm never about putting myself out there to rodeo a titan. So vulnerable to be hoping around titans, electric smoke everywhere and having to use the spitfire so getting beat at mid to long range by the 101 and short range by everything else

Also in comparison I'd rather do 50 goosers than 50 rodeo kills. I got 5 gooser kills in 2 games in gen 5. When your looking for them it's easy with the chain gun

why hasnt this game set the world on fire? imo, it definitely lived up to the hype. its taken all he best things about cod and added a shit ton of amazingly fun things - mechs and parkour as the biggest stand outs. i could never go back to cod again after titanfall, so why is it a bit of a sales let down? will it just take time/sequels to reach its potential?

it amazes me seeing individuals in the gaming side shitting on titanfall not living up to the hype as if the game was a disappointment.

I'm getting my ass kicked at this capture the flag. I'm playing with ransoms and not one guy has a mic and nobody listens.

This sucks. Every X1 comes with a headset. Capture the flag needs to be played with a headset.

I think because a number of possible reasons:
-It's a new franchise (in a genre that is saturated)
-It's not available on all platforms
-The game does not cater to new/bad players
-The game doesn't have a lot of content or fleshed out multiplayer features
-There are a number of performance issues for a lot of people
-A lot of people are not prepared to spend a large chunk of their time while playing Titanfall, waiting in the menus.

i kind of feel that sci-fi just isnt mainstream enough. most people seem to want/connect with "realism". will be interesting to see how advanced warfare does

Most of those are post-sale impressions which might reflect on the number of active players, but not why sales haven't caught fire.

Out of those, the first two are the big factors next to what I believe is the biggest: poor marketing. Everything about this game was Xbox One. Sure, there were press announcements and a line of fine print on banners mentioning a 360 version, and the PC version had the beta and some attention within the hardcore audience.

But to the general populace, that COD audience that is being targeted, it was an Xbox One title requiring purchase of a $499.99-$449.99 system in the US that just went through 6 months of PR hell and losing a lot of mindshare to a cheaper and more focused competitor. That's also on top of requiring the use of Xbox Live Gold, another $59.99 investment (what the majority pay, so buzz off with the $40 sale tag arguments to those who do so) for the unknown.

Maybe Titanfall wouldn't have done much better if a fair shake in marketing was given to the other two platforms supporting it, but given the last few NPDs, months of silence, and shaky player pool I'd say someone dropped the ball. I'm not sure how a second installment will fare when by the time it releases, a certain established franchise could adopt plenty of mechanics to make it a moot point in uprooting to the newcomer.

The one nice thing about that challenge is you can often get a few critical hits on a single Titan, I think even after it is doomed. Just pay attention to the people you are playing against. Some really pick up on the charge lnducator and go after you quickly so you don't have a chance to get many shots off. But in those games where nobody notices you can really take advantage.

During the match epilogue is often a good time to get some in.

Rodeo a Titan and use the Charge Rifle. You can hit it multiple times, the challenge is extremely easy. However, the detection for progress is very wonky in that regard.

That only works on Atlas Titans, and with how most people play now I wouldn't attempt it with a regular Charge Rifle. Use an Amped CR card for this, but honestly I had little issues completing this challenge by just shooting at range (save maybe 2-3 rodeo instances).

Exactly half of my points are. And I think the number of active players and impressions from players can be important for potential buyers.

True for the long term, though once again numbers are only really apparent to those already invested in the game, while impressions in such a short term would affect largely those who have their ears to the ground in places like this. Not to sell folks like us short, but we are a minority in the scheme of things and that sort of domino effect takes time to spread out to the rest. It's a major factor likely now that the game's been in the wild for nearly 3 months, but that first month or so had larger factors preventing the title from taking off.

5 more rodeo kills then I never have to use the shitfire again. God that gun is just horrendous. No range, no accuracy, takes time to get going so gets beat close up, mid range, and long range by every other gun in the game.

Very good point and sad but very true. I hope the game picks up steam as more pick up Xboxone.

What do you mean it only works on the Atlas? Like, the challenge doesn't count it unless you specifically do it on an Atlas? That's kinda bs, if so.

No that only atlas titans count that as a critical hit.

Looks like gen 7 will be a bit more difficult than I thought. Already finished the g24a that was easy and 25 more titans with the chain gun that's will also be no problem but I'll be damned if every titan I've doomed going for the terminations doesn't have nuclear eject :(

I got the red markers from rodeoing a Strider just yesterday, I'm almost positive!

I agree, at range I've been certain that I landed a crit, but just got the generic hitmarkers. Makes me sad.

Oh I understand you should have heard me when I was playing that challenge. I reverted to 16 year old me cursing up a storm of hate and unintelligible malice.

To clarify, using the Charge Rifle while rodeoing a Titan will generally only net critical hits on Atlas Titans. For whatever reason, it does not work on Stryders and Ogres to the best of my knowledge. Shooting with the Charge Rifle at range and hitting the critical spots works fine otherwise for all Titans.

It's possible Respawn patched it to work across the board, but I don't recall anything of such in the patch notes. Would explain why it works, or maybe it's like the case of Brain Surgeon where just about anything will muck up having your actions count towards the challenge.

And I feel for you MaGlock. I got lucky in my last couple of matches to where I'm 14 or 15 down on Freshly Squeezed, but so many people use auto-eject, nuclear ejection, or ditch their Titans before they doom to where. Also have run into a funny bug a few times where a Titan will be in doomed state with no ejection actions being taken, but I can only melee it and cause damage instead of executing the pilot. Will record it the next time it happens to see if anything else is going on at the time to cause issues.

Yeah its upsetting. I've also had issues going 1 vs 1 titan battles with the styder chasis. It's just not what I'm used too. Dropping my K/D like a mo fucka

The stat I'm most proud of is killing more titans than I've dropped and using the stryder is putting that in jeopardy
