So glad that they apparently used a not-horrible-looking model for Pac-Man. I've accepted his inclusion and I'm honestly indifferent at this point. Hope we get a little more info about other vets aside from G&W, though!

The difference is that those characters have different identities (Zelda, Sheik, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, Samus, Zero Suit Samus), Miis are just Miis.
Old and fake from months ago.
If you look at his eyes even, it's not the PacLand design description tweeted by GameXplain.
Just wait on official renders/trailer from Nintendo.

Yeah, the game is more like brawl than melee but it's faster at least. Hoping the competitive scene reaches out after E3, atleast give us dash dancing.

That was a finale between what can be considered the two best defensive players in Smash.
Combine that with it being really hard for Kirby to approach and ZSS lacking any incentive to approach Kirby since she has a very safe Side+B and you get... that.
Sakurai explicitly called them 3 separate characters during the NDE earlier.
That finally debunks the RosalinaX 48 characters leak.

Zelda/Shiek and Samus/ZSS are literally the same character though by that logic, Miis are 3 unique roster slots like it or not

Also consider that there are less movement options and approachs/baiting because of no Wavedashing and no dash dancing and you get that.

They still took the development time of 3 character slots even if they share some crazy mii fighter -> pick your style slot on the screen

Palmer Luckey, (creator of Oculus, new billionaire) is apparently on Giant Bomb's stream talking up a storm about how much he loves Smash Bros, especially competitive Smash Bros.
They appear to be banned because they're all about customization which they're not letting you use in public lobbies.

We just need to accept that Sakurai is insane, though usually in the best way possible.
It baffles the mind. Should have swapped the Pac-Man and Palutena reveals.
It wasn't just the play styles and character match ups though, a number of times (especially with ZSS) it looked like a combo just dropped half way through. Kirby was always just out of reach for a follow up attack in the air.
I still have my fingers crossed though, especially with how Nintendo is reaching out to the competitive community by holding this type of event and suggesting more may follow. I just don't want to get my hype off the charts, because I did that for Brawl and was crushed.

I agree, but largely because I don't know who Palutena is.
I think the idea of Mega-Man, Sonic, and Pac-Man all being in one game is incredibly awesome. Too bad Snake isn't returning (as far as we know anyway).
