I don't even play Ice Climbers but I agree they shouldn't be cut.

I can think of 2 reasons why they'd be cut, and both reasons are so dumb that it's super dumb if they're cut.

1. Sakurai thinks people don't like them
2. 3DS couldn't handle it

Both reasons are dumb. Pretty sure we've debunked reason 2 on here tons of times, but then again, nobody here is on the smash 3DS dev team, so it's hard to say. No way reason 1 is real.

So im sure someone has already done this but does anyone know what all the stages in the leak are? It obviously looks like there is more to unlock and that the leak doesn't have all the stages. It looks like it goes like this:

Battlefield, Final Destination, Super Mario 3D Land, Golden Plains, Paper Mario, ???(rainbow road?)

Wario Land stage?(looks like GB graphics in a desert so idk), ????(Kong jungle maybe), Gerudo Valley, Spirit Train, Yoshi stage, Brinstar

N's Castle, Lumiose Tower, Corneria, F-Zero stage, DK Stage? (Looks like one of those platforms you smash down on in Returns), Tortimer Island?

it's been shown the Stage Select Screen has a photo of a pic from the Tomodachi Life stage that was only shown to the public today on Famitsu leaks.

That seems bizarrely close, but I'm still holding out making a decision until we get another vet reveal.

No, they wouldn't have to show every character, just examples of the most 'extreme' stuff that ratings need to cover. The other characters and their appearances (for nudity purposes or whatever) would all be part of the documentation submitted alongside the video footage.

The footage isn't meant to stand on it's own, it's just part of the submission process, and likely very short. It may or may not include all the characters.

I agree. Ridley was already shown to be a stage boss anyway. He's probably in other segments of the footage and not playable.

I think the "OH BY THE WAY, ALSO THESE" stuff people are tacking onto the images is highly suspect. Trust what you can see, not what you're told. They can claim there's more fighters and DLC stuff planned but unless we see some of it there's no reason to believe those claims.

Near as I can tell, this whole "Ice Climbers are cut!" hysteria that's been enshrined in all these "leaks" is something completely manufactured on forums like this and Smashboards. I can't find a single piece of evidence in anything Sakurai has revealed to suggest this. All there is is Sakurai's quote from way back that there were some technical challenges in designing the 3DS version. Somehow that ballooned into "ICs are cut because the 3DS can't support them."

The only thing we've seen that's even related to the ICs is the Polar Bear enemy, which is better evidence for their inclusion than their exclusion.

The more I'm thinking about it, the more I'm kinda ok with this leak if this is the roster + DLC, the only glaring flaw I'd say is Mewtwo still AWOL. The big problem I have is the stages being 10% Mario, and no new DK or Star Fox things at least on 3DS.
