Nintendo Downloads - August 2014

Ouch @Teamtophat losing his account and coins. :( I think Chopper us right and it maybe wouldn't have happened if he didn't do the giveaways here and possibly someone at NOA is lurking and reported it.

All his coins were legitimately acquired, and Nintendo has no issue with people getting the monthly download games to give away. The issue is that he had wholly separate Club Nintendo accounts at the same address meaning he could get multiple CN annual rewards for the same household, when Nintendo only allows one reward per household. I think the best solution for all involved is to combine all the disparate accounts into one family account with sub-accounts. That will satisfy Nintendo's requirements about annual rewards per households and let TTH keep his coins. Hopefully, the CN support will be able to do that for him...

I also wonder if there was some issue with the Mario Kart free game offer.

I assume that's limited to 1 per household?
Assuming that is 1 per household, I would imagine Nintendo doing some account reviews as a result of that.

Probably. There were a lot of people buying multiple MK8s, using the CN code, returning the game/trading it in for near full credit, and keeping the free game. Would imagine Nintendo would want to crack down on that.

How does DK Jr. Math work? You are having to do a calculation while jumping and avoiding obstacles?
Chrontendo gives is a shake-down. It is 2 player only and the only obstacle to avoid is the other player. Also it seems player 1 has the advantage starting nearer the almighty multiplication symbol (although adding is handy too).

I guess in 2 player it can be fun but the same can said for lots of things.

wait.. I don't get it.
so even if you own a family account, you still get nerfed? what's wrong with a family staying together and getting different rewards?
From what I understand a family is one pool of coins and only one elite membership while separate accounts can have you hit platinum multiple times in theory (given how much it costs them hence how bad the prizes were this year). If only there was a Club Nintendo USA thread...

I think it specifically allowed and stated that each member of a family account would get one in that case.

Though I do a Club Nintendo of someone getting banned for getting the $30 eShop credit from SMTIV & FEA twice (I'm sure it was a family account there also). They do tend to have a short fuse though. For example as soon as they find out you don't live in America, that is it banhammerr.

Fixed and wholeheartedly yes. The Wii game is a continuation of the GameCube game, so it may be worth your while to hunt that one down first.

Most definitely, yeah. Keep in mind that the Wii game is a direct sequel to Path of Radiance, the GameCube Fire Emblem, so check that one out as well if you can. These two are excellent games, but any Fire Emblem that you can get your hands on is very much worth your time.

Thank you for your replies!
The Wii U is my only Nintendo system. It seems like I'll have to wait for the second GBA to be released on the VC or for the Gamecube Virtual Console...

Maybe the new 3DS revision will make SNES and GBA Virtual Console games possible thanks to the faster CPU.
I would hate Nintendo if it did this. At the same time, I would love Nintendo if it did this. Guess this is better than nothing, so I'd go with the latter.

Kirby Fighters Deluxe & Dedede’s Drum Dash Deluxe are out TODAY for $7 each when the eShop updates.
I don't get NOA. They had a press release yesterday. They could have either held the game back a week or mentioned it yesterday.

Stealth launches are just about acceptable if a direct is where they are mentioned but this is outright sales sabotage.

With all the announcements from Nintendo today (and not just from NCL), I wonder if they originally had a worldwide direct planned.

Someone recommend the Dedede game? I don't own/want the Kirby game.

For $7, especially if it includes the original stages as well (no idea if it does), I think it's a good value. It's a rhythm game and probably a tricky one to 100%. The Kirby iteration was a lot of fun.

Surely one of the main focus points of the new 3DS as far as online content goes has to be the ability to play things the original couldn't.... surely SNES+ has to be on the cards?

I can't wait to start waiting for this shit all over again. :lol

The thing I don't get about the Kirby/Dedede game is how they are both enhanced versions of the minigames from Kirby TD but need Kirby TD to unlock everything (well streetpass active so if you had the game you might be in luck). It is like the worst situation of own Kirby TD, not enough new to justify buying again but don't own it you might prefer to own it.

"Here is the New 3ds. NOW it can run SNES games" they better push at least N64 games otherwise it will sound pretty lame....
Forget N64 VC for Wii U, got to get it for 3DS...sounds exactly like what Nintendo would do :(

Hope the New 3DS has NWF/Unity support, I'd love to make games for it.
This was the first thing I thought of when they talked about an improved CPU. I'd bet it's happening, both Nintendo and indies wanted it on 3DS but the hardware just wasn't up to it.

Kind of a cross-post from the new 3DS reveal thread, but...

My first thought on seeing this...

That was my first thought as well. Really hope that's on the XL as well, since it only seems to be for the OG model.

& yes, let us hope this is teasing SNES VC for 3DS.

Azure Striker Gunvol seems....weird. I'm not liking it so far.

Will play more for futher judgement. I really hope I'm wrong thinking this game isn't so good.

Just finished my first Mighty Gunvolt playthrough. It's super short and rather easy, but I had a lot of fun. I love how 8-4 localised the game in an authentic NES way (which means that the story is told in Engrish). Still haven't started Azure Striker Gunvolt yet.

How do you get Mighty Gunvolt? I thought it would be released later on?

Wait, these are coming out in NA? I could have sworn they were Japan only... and just when I was thinking I wouldn't be that disappointed with my lack of 3DS wi-fi for the next few months.

I assume Kirby Fighters isn't really worth it if you can only play Single Player and already have access to the version included in Kirby Triple Deluxe?

I think it has 5 extra stages over the one in Triple Deluxe. Maybe an extra fighter or two? I forget exactly b/c I don't own Triple Deluxe.

You get some bonus stuff, like more another stage & 2 more abilities, if you own Kirby Triple Deluxe. I think there's also a few more stages & items not in the KTD version. What sucks is that I USED to have it, but I don't think it'd know that I previously had the game on my system.

Otherwise, I guess if you liked the original version and feel as though you want the extra content, it's worth getting, but otherwise, if you think you've gotten the most out of the original & are content, then yeah, stick with the mini-game version.

Personally, I found it to be alright, but yeah, if you can play only single player, it's not as fun. Maybe I'll wait for a sale, but I don't have much desire to own it as a separate game, even with the bonus stuff.

Apparently if you still have SP active for it, it might actually think you still have the game.

Sadly, I don't. I deactivate all StreetPass titles once I don't have them anymore.

Then again, I DID rate the game on the eShop since it knew I played over an hour, so maybe it'll know that way?

What the hell is nintendo doing to me? I've called and they said they would call me later to explain everything.

In the mean time, they've removed the following from my Wii U and 3DS. What the fuck? I spend thousands of dollars just on nintendo products and they're treating me like I scammed them. I even sent them all the receipts.

Dr. Luigi - The gift I chose from Platinum Reward
Kirby's adventure - Club Nintendo monthly reward
Metal torrent - Club Nintendo monthly reward
Puzzle league express - Club Nintendo monthly reward
Super Mario bros 2 - Club Nintendo monthly reward
Excitebike - Club Nintendo monthly reward

Anyone who I've given free codes too might want to check their eShop account activity. Your titles could be getting removed.

3DS software just disappeared.

Wii u software is "there" but can't be played
