Although others have probably done it, I've been cataloguing things for the site and was just finishing Kirby hats

He's a zoning type character who can throw a ton of hitboxes on the screen. Generally those types of characters have lower damage to compensate for how well they protect themselves, but Duck Hunt actually has pretty high damage among the cast from what I can tell. He's probably gonna be good.

I went up against a good DHD who was making it a challenge to even get near him with his stupid can and what I assume is a flying disc. Was probably my favorite match of the night cause I ended up rushing him when he made a small mistake and kept pushing him back with my gun and whip (was zss). He made me work for that win.

Dunno what to do right now so I took one :lol

omg they should of gave him gloves too lol
Man, people really have a hard time adapting to new controls. I played the demo for like 3 hours and the controls are fine. I wonder if people would just skip Smash 4 if it was a 3DS-only game.
In my experience it has more to do with 3DS itself. Like its a bit difficult for me to up-tilt with the control pad.

Someone explain this aspect of Smash Run to me.

1. When you pick up items such as bag or coins with the Smash logo, they are listed on the top of the bottom screen. However it only lists ten or so at a time. Can you only get ten per run? What happens to these items? Do you get them permanently?

2. At the end of Smash Run you are given a choice of one item to take. Sometimes there are backs with a question mark on them with random names like "Power Belt LV. 3." What are these?

3. Explain custom characters for Smash Run. When I turn customization on, it doesn't let me pick from my created characters.

It is his best KO move, and yeah, it is hard to do those tilts.

Also, 're: Leaf Shield. There was a demo tip that said Leaf Shield can be used to combo out of throws for Megaman if it is up when you grab the AI. I haven't figured it out yet, though.

Interesting, but probably still useless in the long run. I can't believe it locks down all of your attacks when using it. It's astoundingly bad. And it could've been so cool.

You're making assumptions about things I say. No, of course the netcode guy wasn't working on Doctor Mario's balance. Game development is broken up into different departments with resources changing as development progresses. Departments like art finish before debugging starts. Once people finish up their work they go on to their next project. The money used to work on Doctor Mario's balance could have gone to a different person to work on netcode.

See what I said above. Time and money is budgeted. Companies outsource all the time, which is what Nintendo has been doing with Smash since Brawl. There is talent out there.

1. How do you know the netcode isn't already optimized to the fullest extent the development team could reach? Online has just started and I believe there have been positive reviews so far. Obviously no need improving what's already solid.

2. We don't know how money and work is distributed within the development team in Smash, and just like every company has commonalities, there are also differences. I asked for distinct evidence of this happening, at least within Sakurai's time at Nintendo since you are criticizing him and he can't defend himself.

3. Maybe it wasn't worth it. More hypotheticals: if Sakurai had an idea to come up with a new amazing feature and evidently did not go through with it he obviously then did not think the idea was worth seeing through. It's as simple as that.

4. You didn't mention it in this post specifically, but I think you complained about Ice Climbers being cut for Dr. Mario and Dark Pit. I think rather, it was that the Ice Climbers were literally impossible to put into the 3DS version of the game (which Sakurai discussed in an interview previously) and decided that having two clones was better that just not having Ice Climbers and nothing to compensate at all.

OR

And I'm just spitballing here.

Dr. Mario and Dark Pit being in has nothing to do with the Ice Climbers and you're drawing connections where there are none to fuel your frustration or criticism against Sakurai.

Now I know you may say to me that I am unfair for criticizing you based on assumptions rather than what you are actually saying (though I do not think I am), but if so I believe you are doing the same thing to Sakurai and his development team.

No Chibi-robo trophy. Confirmed DLC.
I wish

Nice list though.

Please aware though that I don't have the game so these is just picked up from streams and stuf. Based on the leak, its only a little more than half the total trophies

I thought the 3DS Final Destination was the one where you face Master Hand/Core. Is this a different version?

Master Hand (and Master Hand + Crazy Hand) and Master Core have their own themes this time around, if I was listening right. Final Destination has its own set of themes for standard matches.

Does anyone else's 3DS completely reset when you close out of the NA demo? I close the software with the Home button and X but then the whole screen goes blank for a few seconds before the home screen comes back.

That's common for big games like monster hunter 4 and smash.

You know, it looks like Star Fox really got the shaft this time around.

Lost a character
No newcomers, only two clones
Only one new stage (in WiiU)
No Smash Run enemies
One Assist Trophy

Is there any other series that got it that bad?

Pocket being able to negate Final Smashes is so dumb. I'd hate it if it were any other character than "player character from the weird game where you do plant flowers and have a mortgage"

Hopefully one of the custom options makes it worthwhile.

Are you familiar with Wiimote controls? It's super easy honestly. Dpad + Attack at the same time = Smash attack. Dpad then attack = tilt
Gotcha. Makes me wonder if a fight stick could work.

Stop hating on Doc.

He's a vet from Melee who was planned for Brawl but cut because of Sonic. His inclusion really isn't all that strange or out of the ordinary and I'm actually surprised he's in the clone corner because he seems like he was planned early on.

He has one of the best character introductions in the game. His final smash might use Mario's animations, but in a clever, fitting way with cool graphics. He has a more unique final smash than some actual unique characters!

Things could have went very wrong with Doc. But I'm glad they took some development resources to make him unique and like he was in Melee, versus some obnoxious Fludd variant.

I don't even think he was a costume, or at least, was never developed very far as one. He might have started in the concept stage as a costume, but he's so much more than Dark Pit and Lucina, he's clearly a different case.

I really like that they made an effort to bring him back as best they could.

Unlocked the third page of Challenges. It has stuff like "Clear Classic on 9.0" and "Clear Classic with all characters" so I'd say it's probably the last one.

DK and maybe Mother? Metroid I guess as well.
Someone's going to mention Wario Land because Wario lost his ONLY REAL CONNECTION TO THAT SERIES for some reason.

Mother lost a character, but it also has that amazing stage and a lot of smash run enemies and stuff. I dunno, it doesn't seem as bad to me.

DK also has a lot of enemies, and assuming it gets a stage it didn't really lose anything, but it still does kinda suck.
