I can deal with using a computer to sync as long as I can region free my games. Would this hack allow me to play my US store games while on my UK account / stick.

No. As I said, this only allows non DRM apps or demos. If we were able to do what you wanted above, boom - there's piracy on Vita.

Wow they should of waited until PS TV made it out in the US so the new FW would include that system :(

If anything I'd rather have that PSTV hacked.

EDIT: Looking back at the information now, it seems this was never intended to be public, at least not anytime soon but was leaked.

Is the package manager something a future FW update will likely disable?

It's almost a certainty it will be disabled. As it stands it can only use specific unlicensed files, but if the packages are ever cracked this is a super easy entry for pirating games and applications.

Will it still work with transferring from ps3 and (longshot) will it enable local ps4 remote play?

QCMA is purely a PC application to be used instead of the official CMA program. It does not change anything on the Vita CMA app.

You should still be able to transfer between the Vita and PS3 without problems, there is a trick to using it on a PS3 without having to update the Vita to the latest firmware and that is to:
1. Connect your Vita to your PC and connect to QCMA to the point where you could transfer files (you may need to be in airplane mode throughout this entire process)
2. Unplug from PC and plug into PS3 without quitting the Vita app
3. On the Vita select to transfer between Vita and PS3

I have used remote play on PS3 with the Vita being on a lower firmware than the current official one, haven't tested it at all on PS4 as I only recently got one and won't be able to test that until the Vita has a new firmware.

anyone got this working?

It may have something to do with how the email client you use formats the email, SKFU said it needs to be a HTML email and looking on Wikipedia I found this:
Among those email clients that do support HTML, some do not render it consistently with W3C specifications, and many HTML emails are not compliant either, which may cause rendering or delivery problems, especially for users of Gmail.

So your best bet is to sign up for an account on Wololo's forum and use this link to send an email to yourself. The email you receive could be in your junk so be aware of that.

Got the package installer to work and installed Tales of Hearts R & Freedom Wars demos:

Looking for a Destiny of Spirits .pkg, since it's free maybe I can run the different region versions on one account.

Edit: Think I got the .pkg, expanding it...

@FatalChoice: Thanx for the info. I own Gladiator so I went and DLed it incase I want to mess with some emus.

Hey btw when you do remote play, do you need to connect to PSN or is it a direct connection between systems?

Sounds like exactly how OCMA worked for getting stuff on PS3. I used that all the time to get new games after the FW changed. I'll look into setting this new program up. What are the big benefits over OCMA?

I don't believe OCMA is still supported and I couldn't get it working with 3.18, but that could be something I was doing wrong.

QCMA also allows the transfer of packages with the package installer.

On PS3 it is entirely separate from PSN (direct connection), PS4 may be a different situation.

Here's how I just did it:

Install CMA, let it sync with your Vita using the Content Manager on the device, you now have PS Vita/PSAVEDATA in your "My Documents" folder. In it is a folder with a seemingly random name.

Get the exploited save file with the "TN-V" Custom Firmware (uncheck the download manager option, it's malware), either EU or US. The European version is just a folder named "ULES01515SAVE00" with some files in it. Put that folder in the aforementioned PS Vita/PSAVEDATA/*RANDOM NAME* folder.

Download the official PSP firmware, rename it to "660.PBP" and put it in the "ULES01515SAVE00" folder (or US equivalent) which is now located in the seemingly randomly-named folder.

Go to your Vita > Content Management and copy the save file via Applications > PSP/Other after choosing PC > Vita. Exit the content manager, launch Gladiator Begins, load the save file in the game. When loaded, select the "Item Box" option. Your Vita now shows a white or green screen. Hold "R".

You're now in a menu. Go to Advanced > Install 6.60 files. Go back once it's done and choose Exit. Congrats, you can now do whatever you could do on a PSP with a custom firmware on it (e.g. homebrew).

To launch the PSP environment, just do Gladiator Begins > Save > Item Box again. You won't see the menu and instead boot directly into it.

these steps are not working for me. like at all. Get the exploited save file with the "TN-V" when I download that I get a corrupted file.

thank you for your help. but is there a simplified version that I can actually use ?

all I know is I have the Gladiator game in my psv.

thanks again

Well now there is some progress. After doing that, it tries to connect but eventually says "Could not connect to the PC."

Disabled the official content manger?

Got the package installer to work and installed Tales of Hearts R & Freedom Wars demos:

I had a bit of trouble when I first installed it, but it was fixed by restarting the Vita in airplane mode so I am not entirely sure what to do now. Did you completely uninstall CMA before installing QCMA? I also read somewhere that you may need to restart between uninstalling CMA and installing QCMA (possibly after too), but that was not something I needed to do.

I'm trying to think of how I can help without just repeating what spons wrote, is there anything specific you can tell us?
Is the Vita saying it is corrupted in the Content Manager or is it when you try to load the save in Gladiator Begins?
What region are you using?
Have you ever transferred anything to or from the PC and Vita before?

no this is the first time I transfer anything to the vita. I tried everything you tell me but its just not working. maybe having a slim ps vita imported from japan has anything to do with it ? my account is a US account.

anyway.

here is what I did, I downloaded the 660 firmware and renamed it from eboot or whatever it was called to 660.

put it in the same saved folder for the gladiator game.

put the whole gladiator saved file + 660 firmware into the random folder under the ps save data. when I go to content manager in pc tho. I cant find it.

I hope it won't lead to that...
On the other hand I would really appropriate if in response to this Sony simply allowed more than one account on a single Vita system. That would rock.

Odd, I have no clue why it would not show up in there. Try copying a save from your Vita (PSP if you can) to your PC to see if it is placed in the same place you put the Gladiator folder.

Also, you didn't change the name of the Gladiator save folder, right? only the eboot needs to be renamed.

yes. I didn't rename anything but the eboot file and put it in the downloaded US gladitator version based on my gladiator US account download.

I bought street fighter alpha 3 max " psp game before" I tried to transfer the game from vita to pc " save file "

I went to the ps vita folder, saved data, random file, nothing inside.. where did the save go ?

Yeah, the only advice I can think of is to try the actual game, save a proper working save file. Then copy it to your PC then replace it's contents with the stuff from the save you downloaded, then transfer it back.

Sorry I cannot be of more help, if you are still having difficulties you could try the forums on wololo.net, there are people there that know a lot more than I do.

Go to store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com. After you login go here, it should show you all the games you've downloaded from PSN. Find the link with .pkg at the end of it. Copy, paste and go.

Also, Destiny of Spirits (Asia) doesn't work. Trying US version, probably gonna get the same result but at least I'll be able to read the error messages.

Hmm PSO without switching account? Time to really start and play the game if possible.

Does the homebrew allow you to play non compatible and delisted PSX games on the Vita?

Yes, if I'm reading right it's a Kernal exploit.

Can anybody tell me how to go through the email package manager thingy?

I tried to send the "<a href=”psgm:eek:pen?titleid=NPXS10031&#8243;>OPEN PKG INSTALLER</a>"

and "psgm:eek:pen?titleid=NPXS10031"
None works

Copy the "click here to open" in the initial link. Past it to Yahoo/G-mail. E-mail yourself.

Open your e-mail account on your PSP2. Click link.

Open up your cma settings and check to see you haven't accidentally changed your save location.

Whoa that packet manager thing is interesting, let's see what demos there are
And two questions: Did someone already try this with free DLC from another region? I thought maybe I could install the free Neptunia Re;Birth DLC like this since I have a EU account on my Vita and a US copy :p

And lets say I install a demo like this, can I backup the demo manually to my PC via CMA later to install it again whenever I want without the packet manager?

People using any exploits should be using QCMA now, it is basically the successor to OpenCMA and will allow you to transfer between PC and Vita without updating to the latest firmware.

Can I uninstall Sony's CMA after having QCMA?

If I had the previous kernal exploit, I don't need this one right?

If you don't want to update your firmware, yeah.

Uh, Sony is definitely going to shut off that PKG installer soon. It looks like it can turn full-game trials into the the full-game.

For you.

Does it really? If it could I would assume that people on wololo and that hacking forum would be all over that but there's not a single mention of such a thing.

removed link because i don't want to be banned for piracy

Wow. So downloadable trials unlock the full game, and PSP isos can be loaded onto the Vita.

Is that right? Or just custom, created games can be loaded? Reading through the thread now; really interesting read.
