We don't know how well it will perform (and we're not even thinking about the obligatory XBO performance polemic) but i'm pretty sure it will be superior to anything in term of design and artist works.

When i see the the level of production of those monsters, their animation, model (and don't forget the behemoth!) i really hope the game is generous. FFXIII felt so cheap with those monsters reused 20 times everywhere.

A FF should be a never ending festival of curiosity and incredible bestiary. Remember some of the designs in FFX ? The Atma weapon, the first boss in the water.. If we see this kind of thing with this level of detail, we'll die.

If the Leviathan battle is still in, I would wager that we will face some other summons. Can't wait to see Bahamut, and yes, that Behemoth fight looks ridiculously good. I think they're nailing the right aspects of the game. Already looks miles better than XIII, if only for the simple fact that this doesn't seem to be a corridor simulator. Some might find it bland, but I think that grounding this game on "reality" with realistic looking cities you could actually visit, and coupling that with the nature that surrounds them works pretty well. It's different than other final fantasies but somehow feels familiar, in a good way.

Um, damn.

It would be a waste if SE didn't use Luminous for any of their other future titles. This is some next level shit.

Fair enough. I agree with this, the game looks a bit too realistic. I had that feeling when I saw the gas station. Understand I am not complaining! The visual result of the creature design looks great, topping what I expected from a next-gen FF.

Now, seeing this, I can't wait for news about the next Elder Scrolls.

Yeah. Of course there are elements of fantasy within the design. The creatures and certain aspects of the landscape do give you the impression that this is a Final Fantasy game. However, I suppose that only exemplifies in my mind that some things just seem a little out of place.

Like when he is running in the forest and comes across this building.

My first thought was, "Oh! That's a very ordinary looking building". It just didn't seem quite right to me. I kind of expect to see a quaint little cottage with a thatched roof and smoke coming out of the chimney. Or a design that is a bit more other-worldly.

I still think the game looks amazing though. And I expect the art-direction will be of the highest quality regardless.

Now all they need to do is show off some towns, NPC's, mini games, summons, and a fucking release date and I'll be 92.3% confident in this game being awesome.

That video answered what was basically my main concern; that all that terrain they showed at first would be entirely non-interactive.

Thank god.

That looks like a world I want to explore.

I felt the exact same thing there. It looks like they jumped in an other game and marines will arrive soon.

A couple questions I still have though; whether they've been addressed or not, I don't know:

- Is the car on auto-pilot, or can the player take the wheel?

you can both auto-pilot or drive your self.

- Was that the full map in its entirety?

- Car can be auto pilot or manually driven

- You can take it off road

- That was just one area of the game called Duscae region.

I was absolutely and completely speechless during the duration of those videos. I'm not exaggeration, I wanted to squeal like a little girl, but just could't. My jaw hit the ground, made a hole and exited all the way to China.

Truly AMAZING!! The world seems to be HUGE. Animations are FANTASTIC. The day and night cycle is BEAUTIFUL and the forest looks really creepy at night!!

My only issue is that there seems to be some hardcore popping during while driving the car. You can clearly see objects appearing out of nowhere and the environment literally drawing itself as you go. I hope they can fix this in the final game.

However, when the characters go by foot.... DAMN... DAT LIGHTING, DAT SKY, DAT EVERYTHING!!

You can manually drive or let a party member drive for you.

I think it can be taken off road yeah, you can summon it to where you are.

That was just the area (Duscae) from the demo.

I'll be honest, the country side is giving me hl2 ep.2 vibes

HOLY SHIT! That open world looks amazing!!

I just hope the combat doesn't mess up the gameplay.. because that would be an absolute shame.

I can't unsee it now. The house's roof appearing out of nowhere. :Z

I know its nothing compared to how good this looks, but its still annoying me now. Dammit. Perfection ruined.

They are saying that events and such aren't implemented in this show case so the buildings don't have to be just scenery.

Sorry man, had to be said. I noticed it instantly and was like "WTF... I hope the game doesn't load like that while on foot". Thank God it doesn't, but I really hope they iron out that pop-in.
