Could be great, because unlike 'Agents', they have a little bit more freedom with plot without worrying what happens in the movies.

I know this is old but for future reference: Jarvis has always been a butler in the comics, he was never an AI before the movies or some alternate universe I'm not aware
Agents of SHIELD looks good, if not better than last season.
The first half of season 1 felt directionless, but once Garrett and HYDRA were introduced, things got a lot better.

Agent Carter is climbing ever higher on my hype-o-meter.
After seeing her in Cap, I felt said that such a wonderful actress/character would no longer play any role in the MCU by virtue of the time-skip to the present. I still can't quite believe that the opposite is becoming the case. She is a focal point for the whole mythology.

Show looks amazing, thrilled to see Howard Stark and Jarvis, although the name Jarvis has always bugged me for being too conveniently short for Just A Rather Very Intelligent System, not unlike the jab Ward makes at the name "SHIELD".

The SSR is essentially proto-SHIELD, not sure if it will happen in the first season but the show is pretty much going to be SHIELD: Origins at some point. Carter is also involved with things that will come to light in the films soon, she is appearing in both Age of Ultron and Ant-Man.
And yes, she was a main character in Captain America: The First Avenger. Peggy has always been important to the MCU. (Inevitable Cap 3 spoilers
and her niece will play a big role in the present day stories
And if the first episode of season 2 is anything to go by, there's going to be a significant story tie in between Agent Carter and Agents of SHIELD.

From the footage, synopsis, and announced casting, this does seem like more of a straight-up pulp spy series, with much less of the superhero sci-fi/fantasy elements of Agents of SHIELD.
Of course, we still don't know that much about it, so they could roll out the Kree corpse in the first episode. Or reveal that Chad Michael Murray's character is MCU Jim Hammond, I dunno.

The first season will be 8 episodes to bridge the gap between the first and second halves of AoS S2. We'll see what they end up doing if it gets picked up for a second season.
It's already canon. Everything is connected.

It's already tied to the MCU, but yeah the first order is for 8 episodes (it was originally 10). There will likely be ties to AoS and the movies but it should be a pretty self contained story with a clear beginning and end though.
Sounds like they are open to doing another season if this is successful.

And yet people bitch that MAHVEL doesn't have a strong female character. She's been (or going to) in more movies than any other female comicbook character.
No firm date has been given when, but it's scheduled for January 2015. We will probably hear something about it around the end of the first half of Agents of Shield.
