They will not.Looks like Suikoden 2 resale prices will finally drop like a rock.

Wonder if they fixed the music glitchs and translation errors in Suikoden 2?
Are they coming as PSOne classics/straight ports or are they enhaced/remade/similar?
They will not.
Basically. A lot of dragging feet across the pond, but in particular a new hire from the last few months has been key to making it happen.
The same dude who's job it will be to get those other titles out on other platforms, so let's show Japan that there is a real thirst in N/S America for these legacy titles with S2.
Straight ports for now, but we'll see where it goes after the first 3 mo. of sales come in.

Ok GAF I need to know two things:
1. Can I play Suikoden II without playing I without seriously compromising my experience?
If no...
2. How long is Suikoden I (I have a backlog I need to get through so not too much time to add an extra game) and will the time I put into Suikoden I be worth the amount of extra enjoyment I will get out of Suikoden II?
I am bummed that there is so much traction for digital releases of these games when there is not an external factor involved (ie: licensing an outside property).Basically. A lot of dragging feet across the pond, but in particular a new hire from the last few months has been key to making it happen.

Wait, so they'll have trophy lists? Yes!
The only thing that could make this better is if Suikoden III were ported as well. I'm still annoyed it never got a PAL release.
Trophy lists? It will be a PS one Classic.
Or SaGa Frontier. Now if only SE could put Valkyrie Profile on PSN.

Is this for PS4? or just the crappy Vita?
1) Yeah, it's a stand-alone story! The main plot revolves around the protagonist Riou and the political strife between the Highlands and the City State of Jowston. You don't need to play Suikoden I to understand the plot presented in Suikoden II.
HOWEVER, the experience is greatly enhanced when you play the first game because you'll see several characters from Suikoden I returning. Plus, some of the characters expand their character arc quite a bit. Finally, not to spoil it too much, but you'll see several Suikoden I cameos and references thrown in. Even so, you can still play Suikoden II without playing I. You are not going to get that "OH SHIT, moment!"
2) About 15-20 hours.
You can play suikoden II without playing I, but it's not reccommended. You'll miss out on a VERY powerful returning character that can only be gained by importing a saved game from suiko 1, and returning characters and quite a few references will be entirely lost on you. You COULD do it, there's just not a good reason to do so. II is a better game than I, but I is still very good.
I vaguely remember getting through it in 20-30 hours at the most, but I did use a FAQ for that one to recruit all the stars of destiny. Both Suiko I and II have bad-good-best endings that can only be gotten depending on how many people you recruit- and "best" generally means all of them. The "best" ending in suiko II in particular is impossible without a guide, there's a whole mess of obscure things you need to get in addition to a full army.
Seems like there might be a chance. I tweeted them that I would prefer the English US version. The German one is a mess.
Not just Yuichi, but I and many others (particularly the digital software team) have been working for years to get this up and it is incredibly relieving to finally have the single most requested game in Konami's library available to fans old and new. I even called out those that joined us for the journey in our PSBlog post (on phone right now). Can't wait to talk to you all about what you think of it in the months to come as I replay them on my own Vita.
Now if only SE could put Valkyrie Profile on PSN.
I guess it was just PR wordplay meaning that you can actually buy it on a Vita now without requiring other PlayStation hardware (even though that should have been true from day one).I found it rather odd they mentioned Suikoden 1 again even though has been out for years.
Weird question, but most of the recent PS1 Classics releases have still been downloadable to PSP, right? I recently bought a PSP Go for the express purpose of using it as a portable PS1 (I have a Vita but prefer the Go's size), and I'd be great if I could still get a little mileage out of it.
I wouldn't count on it, Sony was spitting on PSP owners when it came to PS1 games when the PSP was still on shelves.Weird question, but most of the recent PS1 Classics releases have still been downloadable to PSP, right? From what I gather PSN releases have to be the ISO as is from the day. Unless Sony have changed this policy you are stuck with those glitches forever.Wonder if they fixed the music glitchs and translation errors in Suikoden 2?
