New Dead or Alive 5 Last Round character revealed

HawthorneKitty

Sgt. 2nd Class in the Creep Battalion, Waifu Wars
Oh my god! It's a young, pretty school girl in a skimpy outfit. Who would have thought?? Knock me over with a feather. I've never seen such thinking outside the box from a fighting game dev before. This is really unprecedented.
Her school uniform isn't skimpy...

I'm putting in my vote for Vanessa from Virtua Fighter 4. Not exactly bulky, but pretty swole and super ripped. And a brutal style characterized by steady footing, heavy blows that crush and stun the opponent, simple and painful throws and reversals, not flashy / floaty / poky stuff we've come to expect from female FG characters.

(Especially since she's not in Virtua Fighter 5. Yeah, yeah, there's a white-skinned botox-faced boobmonster doppleganger in the game with the same name and fighting style, but I refuse to recognize that as the same character...)

Really stupid what they did to Vanessa. She was a great looking character in VF4.

As a reference to people who may have missed this superlative game and character, this is what me and Endo are talking about.
If DOA brought her on board, maybe they could use the jiggle physics for a slow-mo close-up of her back muscles when she lands one of her face-breaking counterpunches...

VF4 Vanessa was very cool.
Too bad for VF5 Vanessa.

As for this, even for DoA standards she seems pretty bland.

Bottom of the barrel even for DoA. By that I mean, generic even for DoA considering they somehow got this far without having one.

You already got school girl costumes for everyone after all.

No where near as good as Mila, but her design doesn't bug me like Marie Rose's did.

Just make her fun to play with, and we're good.

Probably should have said "as" instead of "with".

Those were just the girls cosplaying; this is a genuine schoolgirl.

They also loli'ed Pai hardcore. I'm still bitter about that. I don't think I'll ever be able to let it go.

Didn't really do anything to increase sales so I hope they go back to the superior character models for VF6 and think of others ways to make VF a bigger franchise.

I feel every iteration on DOA5 brought bottom of the barrel genric characters just meant to pad the library and excuse to sell it again, until we get a proper sequel with actual thought put be behind the characters. I'll give credit for the f2p version, best implementation in a fighting game, allows you to continue playing with new balances and such without buying super/hyper variations.

Kind of strange. Would have expected something a bit more different.... but still want to see her in action.

With all the different directions the new female characters went in DOA5 aside from maybe Phase 4, this is a bit of a let down. Though it might have been a guest or some other weird concept.

You know, I was going to say Leifang Kasumi and Hitomi and others were old enough to be in High School but I forgot that DoA 5 made their canon age all like 19-21 at this point. I guess you are right.

I love DoA 5 Ultimate, got the platinum, and played more than 100 hours of it and most of my Download history on PSN is DoA 5U costumes but the characters they are adding now is kinda bland. I liked Phase 4 and she was different enough from Kasumi and Tengu being female now is okay. I don't hate Marie but I don't care for either, but Honoka just doesn't interest me at all.

Marie Rose may or may not be a small jab at Sweden back when they banned DoA Dimensions due to "child pornography"
She is is an 18 year old, flat chested blonde girl, that doesn't look 18 from a distance (maybe not even close up), with a Russian fighting style that is also
Swedish
Which is more hilarious than this character they announced today, at least to me.

Yes, Japanese schoolgirls wear skimpy outfits. This is widely known.

What about that looks 'skimpy' to you? It's pretty typical. This being DOA just means the skirt will be flying up all the time.

Yeah in a game where pretty much every character has a schoolgirl alt, having that be the default costume is pretty uninspired.
