What the hell *opens uplay*

edit: huh, Everything's there. It appears that almost all my uplay games were bought on steam, or as physical disk.

Can't access the link at work, but I got my copy of Child of Light from a retailer, and FC4 from Origin, are those 2 games affected?
Here you go
Far Cry 4 is not the only game to have gone missing, some players have reported many other games created by the company to have been removed also such as Watchdogs. Not all games have been removed, it seems that Ubisoft are only removing games that keys were bought from third party websites such as g2a, eBay etc.

Ubisoft may be doing this as a countermeasure to insure that no games are purchased with stolen keys and maybe a way of them tackling the massive piracy problem in gaming.

But it would seem that they have not looked into the origins of any keys and just simply deleted any games bought off a third party site. As you can imagine many gamers are outraged as they feel they are being stolen from as they paid the full price of the games, some have even posted images to prove their purchase online.

One players has quoted the situation like ‘buying a hammer in Walmart then the makers of the hammer sneaking into your house at night and stealing it back’.

This move will be seen as a very risky one by Ubisoft and if they don’t post an official statement about it soon they may lose many loyal fans.

there you go

That would definitely be consistent with Ubisoft's line of thinking.

Don't worry guys, I've got this.

This time Ubisofts not digging though. G2A is not an autorized reseller.

Yeah, don't see anything wrong with this.
Valve does the same if you purchase a game with stolen credit card, as does every other company.

Sorry, my bad. I thought "3rd party websites" included Origin, Amazon and GMG, but it really seems they're only revoking keys bought from G2A and Ebay. I'm okay with that.

I just wanted to post the gif :(

The "bought with stolen credit card" is more of a myth at this point. Yes it's a risk and G2A are unauthorized, but they're a big business who can't afford to do that stuff. 99% of the keys sold there are just from cheap regions.

Doesn't work that way. Singapore here and I can buy it just fine

I guess not all Asian countries are covered by SEGA of Japan? Dunno really...
Searched around and this is where I saw a SEGA community manager mentioning that they operate based on territory:
The Chinese territory is covered by our Japanese office, so if you see localizations for these territories its based on Japanese business deals. Our company operates based on territory, which is mostly SEGA West and Sega of Japan. Hope this makes sense.
The quote was not about Valkyria Chronicles, was about the Chinese localization of Shining Resonance, but I thought it made sense about VC being locked because it depended on SEGA of Japan, I guess...

Well yeah, if you buy from third party sellers on G2A it's your own fault. I haven't used them in ages but I'm pretty sure they also sell keys themselves.

Right. I'm just saying that there are cheaper keys to be bought on G2A and who knows where they're coming from. That's the whole problem with that marketplace. They don't throw up disclaimers about how the shit you're buying could be stolen and not everyone considers that sort of thing anyway. Hell, I didn't realize such a thing happened until very recently when a friend of mine had his Origin account hacked and the person who did it bought up every recent Ubisoft game and nothing else. If they are removing keys from Uplay they likely have some sort of contact with Origin in regards to fraudulent sales and the keys purchased from Origin in those sales.

Ugh, two days of drinking... could have just bought a game instead.T_T

By the way, does anyone else have problem changing their profilepic on Steam? I've tried both in Steam and through the website so change it but get "Missing image from upload. Try again!" all the time. Been like that couple of weeks.

So people are now pissed because Ubisoft is removing keys sold by unauthorized retailers? That thread on Ubi forums is just sad.

*opens Uplay, panics because can't see Far Cry 4, realised Ubisoft are stupid because Far Cry 3 comes after Far Cry 4 in the library, order restored*

You wonder how G2A get's such a bad rep when they have (or used to anyway) glorious ambassadors for their services such as this fellow.

But where do they get their keys from?

Also aren't they employing some really shady technique to activate products? IIRC i read that you are required to run a remote-application on your PC so that they can activate the product remotely on your steam/origin/uplay account. If thats true i don't know why anyone would buy from them. But chances are that I'm wrong about this, because this just sounds too weird.

Is G2A still doing that thing where they buy bundles for $1 and then reselling each key for more while basically fucking everyone involved? Can't feel sorry for those buying there and losing their games.

Really, the poker chips crack me more up that PewDiePie. You want to advertise your business with gambling that usually ends bad for most players?

Wasn't this the story about the people who were asking the devs for review keys and sold them?

Is gamesplanet region free? Thinking of getting Blackguards 2 from them

I imagine the deals on G2A's main page are from them? Evil Within season pass for 6 dollars is awfully tempting......are they completely untrustworthy?

Has anyone had an issue with Norton Security (the newest version) and Steam In-Home Streaming?

In-Home streaming has always worked well for me, but starting this weekend I have been getting slow encode/slow capture messages (and <10 FPS streams) constantly. The only real change I made to my laptop and desktop was upgrading from Norton 360 to Norton Security.

Is Dungeon Siege 3 good?
It's €2.5 on GetGamesGo, and I'm always open to a good gamepad ARPG.
Most of the negative reviews I've read complain that it's not DS1/2, not really stating what else is actually wrong with the game...

Twenty dollars? High profit margin on those AA prints.

It's got 4 colours though. That makes it quite a lot more expensive to print (the mold itself) than the standard print tee.

Probably doesn't matter much if your print quantity is large enough, but its enough to cost 5 bucks more if you order something like ~20 shirts from a printing company.

From what I played of it (15 or so hours on PS3) I'd say it was definitely worth it. I'm no expert on ARPGs though, so maybe compared to others it's not all that good. I enjoyed it though.

Unpopular opinion time. I'm really digging Ryse. Sure it's a bit simplified in terms of mechanics (although more engaging than Mordor was for me) but you do have to mix things up and can't just wail on the attack button. Plus the swords and sandals setting lends itself to the perfect Sunday afternoon (which it is over here) jam. Oh yeah and it's a looker too so it certainly scratches that itch. Shock horror when I've finished the single player might even try out the multi, with randoms!

I don't really need a tag, but I figured I'd get one to make people jealous. Is it working?

This is what I said about it when I beat it awhile ago:

Just beat Dungeon Siege III. You can add it to the pile of evidence of Obsidian's many frustrated ambitions. Very open ended ending that basically said "Hey Square Enix, how about having us make this a regular thing, huh? Can you say Trilogy? Or maybe just more DLC?"

It's a weird game. Compared to DS2 it's very consolized, reminds me a lot of the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games. But maybe even a bit simpler? But it also has Obsidian's storytelling chops all over it, even reminding me a bit of Alpha Protocol in how all your decisions come together for the ending reel.

Which is a bit at odds with the multiplayer aspect of the game, in my opinion. I guess I can't fault them for trying something new, but in my experience anytime you play with more than two people cutscenes tend to get skipped. So all the achievements for agreeing or disagreeing on dialog choices seem...Optimistic, I guess.

Role playing game, but designed heavily around multiplayer. Role playing game, but ability and gear management is pretty shallow. Weird game. Sad I won't see the consequences of my choices in the future since Obsidian's writing makes them seem interesting and...Consequential. Ah well.

I haven't touched it since. I don't think I'd rate it very highly compared to other games in it's genre, but if you had someone to play it with or had a particularly strong urge to play an Obsidian...ish RPG, then...You could probably still do better somewhere else. I dunno. It's not bad, but it's hard to think of anything about it to be particularly enthusiastic about.

Well now, there's two of us now. 3rd person action/adventure isn't a genre I enjoy thoroughly, usually only the very best (Arkham series etc.), but every now and then a game manages to surprise me. And Ryse was one of those games. It's not groundbreaking or special, but I enjoyed it for what it was. Should have been a $40 title on Xbox One though, like it is on PC.
