Where's the moral outrage for the KOF stabbings in Hong Kong? Isn't this the paragonic event of the FGC not just tipping, but outright knocking the whole PH scale into acerbic territory? Did Alstein forgo an opportunity to demonstrate just how dangerous FG culture singularity is? And that it's best to stay home and peek through the venetians (whilst they cast parted shadows on a lone Virtua Fighter 4 cab in the background of his apartment, noir-style) until the snake eats its own rattle?

...huh.

LOL!

As a member of team NAH tho, I think its only a matter of time before you all join. Best of luck to everyone finding other things you enjoy as well.

Square Enix vs Capcom is a thing I still want.
Namco vs. Capcom is much more desired for me considering both companies pretty much lead the fighting game genre.

But after bad publicity from SFXTK, I don't know if Namco will want to lend their properties.

I'm so confused. What in the hell does Square Enix have to do with Street Fighter V?

My favorite guess people have had

" Hey square you are super good at making people like convoluted narrative for reasons human minds can't comprehend , could you make one for the new street fighter"

" We already have 5 plot lines ready and time travel and the best CG you have ever seen we took some people of XV to do this, they can wait a little longer"

Communicating with JP Persona players on twitter is a bit new to me but I've managed to see some cool stuff, as well as have some amusement. Anyways, I got Aguro to agree to let us use the Shikki vs Denpa FT10 to analyze and have English commentary over. Bace And Doonpa(best NA Naoto) are going to be going over that with me on my stream Thursday night so that's a thing for people interested in Persona. We've also been studying and talking to JP players about 2.0 so far so if you're interested in that lemme know cause there's lots to say.

I need a Shouta signal for when I need to take care of business stuff with them because there our times when our JP sucks and their English understanding isn't great orz.

Awesome, Anne. I'm looking forward to it. Going to check the defense OS YT vid (since my computer has issues with twitch archives) after midterms. Was the Shikki vs Denpa set in 2.0?

No, it was a 1.1 Match from December. We're going to be going over 1.1 for now since the goal is to educate American players and we have the knowledge for 1.1. It was a super fun set and there was lots of high level happening.

I'm going to be streaming a lot with myself playing casually and with high level people and stuff like this. We're going to be trying to help get the game ready for Evo. I'm in a group of the strongest and probably most well informed P4U players (minus LK) and I guess it's time for us to do something with all this. We're in a position to support the game really well so I might as well try.

Edit: As far as 2.0 goes we have some notes. I have a pastebin on Aigis in 2.0 and where I think she's going to end up.

Also don't wanna just self promote super hard but the stream is here http://www.twitch.tv/anneifrank This week I'm doing casual stuff until Thursday but a decent amount of that casual stuff will be P4U2. Only going on about it because hopefully at least once a week we can do something to help educate people.

I'm pretty much expecting this SFV Squenix thing to be them shoehorning fucking Lightning into the game in yet another attempt to make folks give a damn about Nomura's fanfiction waifu. Hope I'm wrong, but I seriously see it as this...those folks wont stop shoving her down our fucking throats.

When a company has to make a public apology to FF fans for 14 and then form a committee to put the main series back on the right path its time to start backing a different horse. Hopefully, they stop backing Lightning. I know Nomura isn't on the committee due to other commitments (same reason he isn't a part of 15) but Nomura not being part of the committee gives me hope considering his love for Lightning and his heavy handed emphasis on cutscenes over gameplay being one of the core reasons I stopped giving a shit for FF...that and the stories got muuuuuuuuch worse as it went on.

If there is any justice Lightning wont be what this SFV thing is about...
It's Lightning :(

Fucking amazing. I'd buy both.

now if it was Marvel.. I could understand but..over kof?

Seriously though, I hope the guy will make it.

Folks don't seem to get this but King of Fighters has an ENORMOUS world following. From all accounts, Marvel isn't really as big as KoF outside of America...especially in China where KoF is one of the few things that made it into their country. Its huge there. It never took as strong of root in the states, but King of Fighters is to fighting games what Soccer is to sports...something enormous that only seems less popular than something else if you are in America.

Is there "THE melee guy" of the GAFGC? Had a half-baked side thought to host a Neogaf Melee (Dolphin Netplay) meetup/workshop to play with eachother and teach the beginners stuff, I'm not the best at executing in Melee especially since my competitive deep diving into Smash was at first a PM exclusive character, but I have a good knowledge of what, when, and why and would love to bring people/get brought up to speed with other players. Still pretty new to GAF so wouldn't know what the best way to do so is.

Revven or Anth0ny. I don't know if either of them bother with Dolphin.

I'm washed up, and I have no computer to setup Dolphin.

I'm going to try and get back in for Evo though.

in order for KoF to be like soccer it would have to be more popular than Street Fighter though :p

Naw...it'd have to have easier execution on par with that of Street Fighter though. God Damn the execution level required to start playing KoF 13 is harsh. Most games have a ladder of skills you can climb up to get into the serious stuff and you can stop at any rung and still enjoy yourself at that level...KoF makes you climb the ladder with no hands using your teeth and a single foot with wolves prowling the lower rungs promising that if you don't keep climbing you will come to a very abrupt and painful stop if you linger too long.

You ever seen a casual masher try to touch KoF? Its like watching someone getting the equivalent of a swirly in high school...nothing but fear and flailing that you hope their assailants feel guilty for inflicting on him. Its that painful to watch.

Unfortunately, the computers I have (my desktop and laptop) can't handle Melee in Dolphin at a consistent framerate (it drops wayyyyy too low) so I don't bother with Dolphin. If I had a better computer and such, I probably would try to work out something. Not sure about Anth0ny's situation.

I play Melee netplay pretty regularly. I'm not sure I would be a very good teacher, but I'd be down to play whenever. It would be cool to see more people get on it.

Ah. It does sounds like a fun idea for anyone that wants to get into Melee, especially with Evo.

I won't be getting a new computer until April or so, so I wouldn't be able to help for awhile. Teaching it sounds like fun though.
Not sure who else here is Melee-heavy that's interested.

Evo registration is up it looks like. 70 bucks for the 3 day package then 10 per game it looks like. No shirt either. >=(

We were the last game in town doing free tshirts. Way too many problems with that last year and going forward.

how good is melee netplay? is it a good way to lvl up? does the connection throw you off when it comes to executing combos?

I wish I could help out with the new Melee initiative, but I've a Project M boy and surprisingly enough there's a lot of tech that either has totally different means of access in Melee vs Project M or just flat out doesn't exist going backwards to Melee. I'm over here messing with techskill and wondering how I don't have my Marth tippers down pat only to remember that even simple things like the Brawl sword swipe visuals really helped me see certain things better. :lol

Game sucks and you know it.

Why does it suck though? Besides the obvious/oft pointed out things, it hasn't done anything insultingly stupid mechanically and the cast is competitive (save Potemkin who isn't even bad, just a struggle character).

i hope you guys all noticed that elphelt combo was done with a full RISC bar

Shhh, don't spoil it.
