The code appears on your receipt much like free themes does.
Are they actually any good? Previous games already had online user created levels (even if they were less of a focus), and man, they really proved level design is a job and an art that not that much people master.I've actually spent most of my time playing user created levels, which bodes well for the potential longevity of the game.

It's the best part of Pushmo: the way Pushmo is designed, creating interesting levels is rather easy (a bit like Picross), but Mario vs. Donkey Kong games really need talent for levels to be any good (not even "really good", just any good).
Still excited for the game though, I'll get it as soon as it comes to Europe, I love this puzzle series, the folks designing them are really talented. Minis on the Move was a masterpiece of the genre.
I have a 3DS code for $10 if anyone is interested...... PM me
I haven't played a Mario vs. Donkey Kong game since the first one, and I'm really enjoying this so far. I've actually spent most of my time playing user created levels, which bodes well for the potential longevity of the game. As long as people keep making content, I can see myself going back to this game every now and then for a long time.
The cross buy promotion is lifetime?
... unlike Pushmo World, then, I suppose, game was a gigantic missed opportunity, you couldn't even follow level creators, and featured levels disappeared forever within a few days. Totally killed the design scene of the game.Hopefully, this is a tease of the great things that can be expected in Mario Maker. The way sharing content and Miiverse were integrated in here is really nice and well done.
Yeah, this is the first game where Nintendo finally understands we have online now.... unlike Pushmo World, then, I suppose, game was a gigantic missed opportunity, you couldn't even follow level creators, and featured levels disappeared forever within a few days. Then again, the studio behind the Minis is a western studio, so they're a bit more involved in online stuff.

Nintendo could give guidelines. We know from several anecdotes and "Iwata Asks" interviews they don't just let studios do whatever they want, especially when it comes to something like online and Miiverse. In this case the "Nintendo" blanket makes no sense. Pushmo is developed by Intelligent Systems. Mario vs DK is developed by NST. How each game handles the online sharing is up to them. Not "Nintendo." These are two very different development studios. This has very little bearing on the details of how EAD will handle Mario Maker's online community stuff.

Pay someone $10 for one code. Also "barely an upgrade" is debatable.
I know they're a bit different, but to those who have played both, which do you prefer: Minis on the Move, or this game?
Am I wrong or is there no progress saved between the 3DS and Wii U?
I just started Wii U and it's starting from 1-1. I'm in World 4 on 3DS.
What's the point of cross buy if this is the case? I don't want to play this game twice. Tools to make your own levels are locked behind the single player game. ...right?
It's not cross-buy it's buy 1 get 1 free. That's the whole point behind giving you a code to give away.
I don't know if that's the "point" but ok. I mean, they could just cut the cost in half and save me the trouble of trying to unload a code. Of course, that's not good business and we all know Nintendo's main drive is the bottom line. Haha.

So, I guess I am not seeing how the crossbuy is really offering any sort of discount...
Mini's March Again - $7.99
Mini's on the Move - $9.99
Tipping Stars - $19.99
It mean sure you are getting two copies of the game but you are also paying twice as much as you usually would for an entry in this series.

I've made four levels so far but how can I get you guys to check them out? I'm very proud of them. Was up till 3am working on a few.
How do you know when people have tipped you?
Each time you boot up the game, go into workshop and if there are any tips waiting for you, you will see them there.

Mario Vs. Donkey Kong - $29.99
March of the Minis - $29.99
Mini-Land Mayhem - $29.99
I'm assuming the 3ds version uses 3d?
If so I'm interested in buying a code from someone, not sure if this is the hot spot to ask this, I'm in NA.
Well, the Wii U version, like Kirby Rainbow Curse, is meant to be played on the gamepad. The tv is only useful for a full view of bigger levels really, something to be glanced at occasionally.

March of the Minis - 83 levels. UGC only sharable with friends.
Minis March Again - 100 levels. UGC sharable with anyone. 120+ Nintendo Levels.
