Bloodborne is fun. It's absolutely a souls game in case people were still wondering.
See you peeps in a few days!

Nice! Have fun you two.
What kind of cover is that though? No name or anything.

hold me!!! O_O
I am so pretty sure it will not reach the original.

On hand I can understand people to see more but on the other hand, just let it go folks. Its time was back then and it's over now. Look for new stuff. It's very hard to be nostalgic and having connections to the original while still trying to have something interesting and fresh. Very hard to please that way.

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
Funnily enough, I went to Dublin and did see that ad!
My phone had run out of battery so I couldn't take any pics though ;_;
So instead you get the creepy strange Finnish one with the Sasha lookalike.

That's okay, there'll always be this photo of Saoirse sitting in front of the Saoirse ad.

Nice! Have fun you two.

I'd guess it's an alternative cover that's printed on the rear side. I'll probably be picking up the game myself tomorrow (Target AU is selling it for $69).

Edit: Uh, fixed.

ModBot

Not a mod, just a bot.
This is a scheduled automated repost on behalf of madjoki, who is running this raffle.

I am giving away a Steam key. To enter this giveaway, send a PM to ModBot with any subject line. In the body, copy and paste the entire line from the message below containing the game you want to enter for. Confused? Watch this GIF tutorial or ask for help.

ModBot Basics:
- This giveaway has a manual blocklist. The giver has identified members who abuse giveaways and restricted them from participating.
- I really appreciate thank you messages, but please send them to me (madjoki, not ModBot!) via PM instead of in thread.
- Do not trade keys you win off-site to enrich yourself. Don't try to claim games you have no interest in collecting or playing. Don't claim games to give them to friends off-site.
- If the key is already taken you will not receive a reply. Replies may take a minute or two.

Rules for this Giveaway:
- You must have given away a game through ModBot to become eligible for this giveaway.
- If you are a lurker you are not eligible for this giveaway. You need five or more posts in either the current Steam thread or the previous one to be eligible
- This giveaway is a raffle. The winners will be selected by random draw 3 hours after the draw was created. Any games not claimed after that point will be given away first come first serve.

Alternative cover already included? Do many physical games have that? Cool. 69$ seems a bit pricey. How much USD/EUR does that convert to I wonder.
Quick Google: 49,70 € / 54,29 $ That's actually cheaper than here!
JaseC, you should go full console! Looks like that's the place Aussies actually gain something for a change :p

I kid, I kid.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Some stuff I'm trying to get rid of:

Evoland gets old far too quickly to be worth considering.

Once it becomes a full-blown (bad) JRPG, the pacing becomes glacial and all of its charm evaporates.

It's not less than two hours long. If you do all mission, you'll spend 4-5 hours, and this without S ranking each mission, taking all tapes etc.

I beat the campaign at exactly 100 minutes. Yeah, there are also the tapes in the main menu that is almost as long as the campaign itself (possibly longer) and, yeah, you can go back into the main area to do other missions.

but for some folks, all they're interested in is the main campaign. And if that's all you're interested in then it's good to know that you might have yourself a short experience with Ground Zeroes.

fucking vaati vidya taunting me with his bloodborne videos

Psycho-Pass was my AOTY, just like Psycho-Pass 2 was my AOTY last year.
If you're finding yourself sensitive to violent content though, you're not gonna like some of stuff that's gonna come up.

i guess

i can appreciate something despite of violent content/gore/whatever, but i really don't enjoy the morbid violence of some anime

any interesting releases in April besides GTA?

I guess it is about time to get started with next month's threads recommendations. I'll chat with MMBossTones to see if he wants to continue doing them or not. I'm happy to step up - especially since MRORANGE posted his photoshop templates here.

100 minutes for Ground Zeroes alone is not bad, and there are other Spec Ops to do, each with different task. I agree with you if you want say this is just a cash grab, also probably if you are not a fan of the franchise there's no reason to start buying MGS games with GZ.

At $10, i think a 2 hour base experience with the replay stuff is actually fine, that most will feel they'll get their money's worth.

Now, there's a whole 'nother discussion to be had about how they tried to get away with a $40 price at launch. They got shat on for that and that was well deserved.

But $10 is alright. No one should feel scammed at that price. Just be aware that the main game isn't that long.

I got it for £6 from Nuuvem, which was pretty much the sweet spot for what I thought would be a painfully short game. For whatever reason, I've actually spent about 13hrs messing with the game / modding it etc despite the story and main fun of it being only around 2hrs long max. I think I'd struggle to bite even at the sale price if I still thought of it as before, but knowing that I would find such use for it, £8 isn't bad. Still I doubt many people would have messed with it as long as I have

Mortal Kombat X

I have both of these gifted to me, and I think it is going to be amusing to see if either work. GTA V should technically work - except I don't have a true quad core. MKX requires a GTX 460 minimum, which my gt525m is way below. Yet I still haven't found a game to kill this old lappy yet.

Can't wait to be employed and building a better machine

You forgot to specify the year, because we all know it won't be out before this year's Summer Seal.

Good point. And even if it is: given the recent decline in the general quality of the big Steam sales, we can expect to see this game as a daily deal with a 10-15% discount at best.

I spent 14 hours on Steam and I already beated GZ on PS4 during that month I owned it before selling it, lol. I spent 40 hours on PS4 :l

Haha. I don't know what it is with those sort of games, but I can always find a way to entertain myself with them. I think we'll both be into triple digit hours with MGS V TPP

Something tells me the people at Rockstar never heard about the value of making a good first impression.

You see, I've been trying to catch up on all the big releases I've been missing out on over the last console generation or so, so I've been playing stuff like Just Cause 2, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Saints Row 3, and Arkham Asylum. All decent stuff so far (some moreso than others, but that's beside the point), so imagine my delight when GMG has the GTA 4 complete pack for a really good price last week. The game finally finishes downloading, and that's when the good times end.

First thing I see is some really amateurish-looking thing prompting me to log in to something called Social Club. Apparently it has something to do with the online, which I'm not really interested in at the moment, so I hit the "Play Offline" button, assuming that that'll, you know, let me play offline.

Moving on, I load the game and notice how oddly chunky the menus and logos look. Sure enough, the game defaulted to 800x600, and wouldn't let me change any of the graphics options, including resolution, to anything above the minimum. After a little research, apparently the game recognizes too much video memory as way too little, and was protecting me from changing the options. After doing the appropriate fix, I get back in and change the options, ready to start finally playing the game.

I get a message telling me that if I don't log in, I can't save the game.

Now, while it's not the end of the world to make some random account with my spam-magnet email account, it's still an annoying hoop to jump through in order to be able to save the damn game. I have seen some references online to being able to work around it, but I haven't looked into it more yet.

Still, with this kind of bullshit orbiting around GTA 4, it really makes me wonder why people are so excited for GTA 5.

Now I need Night Dive to bring the X-Files adventure game to digital distribution.

I'm still broken up about NOLF.

Rockstar is one of those companies where you worry about the preservation of their games going forward. They are so poorly made and patched together with ludicrous DRM that leaves their future playability in doubt.

The sad part is they continue to make the same mistakes.

  • Carry computer and monitor etc in backpack like contraption
  • Carry daisy chained ethernet and power cables
  • Dig into centre of the Earth (take sunglasses and maybe some water / food, I hear it's warm there)
  • Live in all timezones and regions simultaneously
  • Buy cheap GTA V via proxy or something
  • Download / Play game
  • Seek medical attention
