Playing Bloodborne with inverted colors is trippy. Just tested out the suspend feature and it works like a charm though I don't like that the top overlay of the ps4 background remains for like 5-10 seconds when you're playing.

Just placed myself in the middle of a mob and put it in rest mode. Hopefully when I wake up I will remember the predicament I just put myself into.

Holy fuck. Resume works flawlessly. I just used it on GTA V, and it booted in 8 seconds from complete rest mode. I have upgraded the drive to 2TB but its still only 5400rpm.

This is actually a useful feature. Well done Sony.

Killzone: Shadow Fall has a bug with 2.50:

Unfortunately, we’ve discovered that Killzone Shadow Fall players may encounter issues with the Suspend/Resume functionality, particularly when accessing the suspend function while the game is loading into different modes, when saving the game, or while playing cinematics.

We're currently monitoring the impact of the issue; in the meantime, please reset the game when you encounter these issues.

Holy shit. I just put my PS4 into standby with Driveclub running. Once it had fully powered down and I'd left it a minute, I pressed the PS Button on the pad and started counting in my head "1.. 2.. 3.. 4.." IT WAS BACK READY TO GO!

4 seconds. Holy sweet jesus. I still expected it to be slightly laggy and take maybe15-20 seconds til I could play again so that surprised the hell out of me. I will definitely be playing games like GTAV more with this, that really makes a huge difference knowing I can suspend and come back hours later and not waste 3-4 minutes getting back into the game!

Bloodborne does support the newly launched Suspend/Resume feature of PS4 firmware 2.50, but only when you're playing Offline Mode.

Checking out the new feature this morning VideoGamer discovered that those who choose the Online Mode - which allows other players to enter your game - will be chucked back to the game's menu when attempting to resume after suspending.

It you want to make use of the handy resume function for Bloodborne you'll need to choose Offline play.

Update is great for me. Not tried suspend yet, and I've had no writes or other issues. There's some nice little features that I didn't know we're going to be in this update too.

More trophy sorting options is great and more customization for automatic uploads/downloads is what I'm really glad to have. The biggest for me though is that I can finally pause downloads and not have them resume when I put the system in rest to do other stuff. I had to turn off automatic UL/DL and whatnot because of that.

So, I've wiped my 0% trophies. So on the PSN server, they're gone. That goes for PS4, PS3 and Vita. But of course, the second my trophies on Vita or PS3 sync, I"m fucked. So my question is, if I wipe both my PS3 and Vita, restart them both from scratch and then sync my trophies, won't that ACTUALLY remove the trophies forever?

I get what you mean, and I think for people who has suspend features turned off, they SHOULD be still on the same menu. I think Sony did this to prevenet accidental progress loss because now suspend is different from turning off with regards to application being actually turned on.

If you have the feature off, it should be on the same menu indeed.

Suspend/Resume works flawlessly, just tried it. Pretty cool not having to load into a game anymore and just being able to resume where you left off and skip the loading screens.

EDIT: They fucking added drop shadow options for the text on the XMB. Fucking megaton. Now every theme is usable.

Yeh, thats annoying. I've always found it annoying how you have to go through 2 menu layers to turn off the controller as well. I hope one day a future firmware update lets you customise the quick menu

I was looking into the Vita stand, but I see that you still need the original charge cable to use it, but it also has a USB input... can I connect it via USB to charge or do they mean the Vita USB cable?

For those that care about such things. PS4 firmware:

Rest mode with these settings now has an electricity usage cost of 4.5 Watt:

• Supply Power to USB Ports: Disabled
• Stay Connected to the Internet: Enabled
  - Enable Turning On PS4 From Network: Enabled
• Keep Application Suspended: Enabled

"Keep Application Suspended" set to Disabled makes Rest mode have an electricity usage cost of 3 Watt, as it was before the Firmware update.

The new Application Suspend functionality costs an additional 1.5 Watt.

can I assume that the console wont use the 1.5W when there is no app/game to suspend?
