it sure is going to be odd when MGSV releases and Kojima is not doing interviews or making appearances to promote the game...
Yeah, how does this play out come E3?it sure is going to be odd when MGSV releases and Kojima is not doing interviews or making appearances to promote the game...
"Hopefully Rolling Stone or Vanity Fair will do a story on the whole thing once the dust settles"
Sarcasm?
Yep, exactly what I said.
He is working on the game and is a contractor at Konami untill December.
Did people not realise this with the previous statements from Konami? It was pretty clear.
Nintendo is in the black. I'd say they're managed quite well.Just like SEGA, Nintendo, Square and Capcom.

How is it spin?
Fired means the person is no longer there. Kojima and his team are still working on the game. He is a contractor untill december.

Geoff, we need a "The Final Hours of Hideo Kojima" asap.
Aren't they already?Kojima could single-handedly make Sony's Japan Studio relevant.
I thought so too. But probably not.
Aren't they already?
All of this "fuck you Konamiii!!!" going around.
None of you have any idea what he was actually sacked for yet. May be smarter to wait and see what actually happened (if ever) before y'all spin a "genius being bullied by soulless corporation" narrative.

So the question becomes, "Does Kojima start his own studio come December (KojiPro!) or does Sony, Capcom, Namco, Nintendo or even Microsoft attempt to hire him and actually get him?"

i'd agree if they weren't doing the whole petty name removal shit. they could have easily spun this as a "mutual parting of ways" and "the last MGS game from acclaimed director Hideo Kojima," etc etc etc. instead they handled it in the worst possible way.

Who's wife did he sleep with?
Far too late for that.I agree to an extent definitely, they shouldn't have started messing around with stuff that already exists.
For all we know (which is nothing), some real serious shit could have gone down. Let's paint a full picture before the stereotypical GAF righteous indignation kicks in is all.

Yeah, poor Konami.
Remember how well they handled Hudson?
Can't believe people are canceling pre orders over this. I guess they don't want to give Konami money but they're hurting Kojima in the process as well.
No one is saying Konami doesnt have blood on their hands. We are saying no one knows who is the devil in the pale moon light in this situation.
Yeah, all that work with this pretty cool engine and now it's back to square one. Sucks.Tomato-tomahto, man.
One thing I wonder about is if Konami has the rights to the "Kojima Productions" name. Maybe that's why they're taking down all refrence to the studio and Kojima himself, cuz he will be opening an independent Kojima Productions shindig.
What's really sad is the loss of the Fox Engine. No more 60fps games from Kojima this gen, I guess, if he actually releases any.

I didn't know kojima was out if konami. I must have been hiding under a rock. Why'd they can the golden goose? He asked for too much money?
