Lest we forget: this is preseason.

I love the 45% XBL statistic. I mean, I have to imagine there been at least a 50% increase in total Xbox Ones in North America since last March so sort of weird statistic to throw out. And Twitch minutes. Ha. I wish they did something about number of roller coaster rides in Screamride like the silly game statistics they gave around launch when Sony starting winning every month.

Eh... Sony would need to be quite dumb to let MS run away with the holiday season again... but you're probably right.

I doubt it will really matter. Sony will win in the worldwide scene and as long as they remain competitive during the holidays, the US loses of a month or so are hardly worth quibbling over.

That said, a $299 PS4 would probably not lose at all, regardless of Halo.

3 old games vs a new game which happen to be one of the biggest games of year? Halo 5 will win easily.

Halo 5 has the "disadvantage" of releasing on October 27th, though, so it just counts for a couple of days towards the October NPD. And I'm not quite sure just how much pull Halo has in 2015 anymore, especially now that it doesn't have the benefit of being on the best-selling system this gen.

But a MGSV, Batman, Bloodborne PS4 bundle would probably be more appropriate for the holidays, yeah. :p

Mario Party 10 released in March, though.

True. Point is: any growth is good for Wii U. It may not be lighting the charts on fire but it's steady and going up slowly.

The New Nintendo 3DS XL system continues to inject growth into Nintendo’s hand-held business, and the momentum created for Wii U in 2014 has carried over into 2015. Take these two elements, add in fun, exclusive titles starring some of the biggest names in gaming, and overall sales of Nintendo hardware systems so far in 2015 have increased by nearly 60 percent over sales during the same time frame in 2014.

Other Nintendo sales highlights include:

Nintendo 3DS

Total hardware sales in 2015 have increased by nearly 80 percent over sales during the first three months of 2014.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D added more than 184,000 total units in its second month, bringing lifetime sales to more than 730,000 total units.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS added more than 110,000 total units in its sixth month on the market, bringing its lifetime total to 2.4 million units.

Wii U

Total hardware sales in 2015 have increased by more than 20 percent over sales during the first three months of 2014.
Mario Party 10 launched on March 20 and sold nearly 290,000 total units in its first two weeks.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Mario Kart 8 continue to sell well in their respective fifth and 11th months on the market, bringing their lifetime totals to nearly 1.6 million total units and more than 1.9 million total units, respectively.

I would say that it works both ways as I could see a decent number of PS4 owners getting an Xbox One for Halo 5. #ItShouldBeInteresting

Twitch...? Wow lmao. I really wonder what was going through Mike Nichols' head when he wrote that. No way he wrote that with a straight face.
