I saw that too and wonder why they're doing this so early when all we have is a "later in 2015." I want to say we'll get a release date this E3. I have no doubt we're getting more streams to talk about more details about the game too for western audiences who didn't keep up with JP stuff.
Maybe they're going to drop a stealth release bomb on us.

Make it the centerpiece of their E3 presentation, Reggie will come out all smug and say "We've been told you've been hoping for a release date for Xenoblade Chronicles X and while I would like to say that it's coming out this summer or this fall, I'm sorry. I can't do that."

"What I can tell you instead is that it'll be out in stores everywhere THIS Friday, June 19th. And if you want a taste of what's in store, you'll find a demo on the Wii U Marketplace right now."

I saw a lot of people getting wrecked by bosses and some field monsters in streams.

Could just be that they sucked though

I remember an Overed that was 2 levels higher getting destroyed. And then that streamer took on an Overed one level lower.... couldn't take down 30% of the HP without losing his Doll and getting wiped. So it varies depending on the creature probably.

Good to know

Being a level higher guaranteed a win in Xenoblade

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before but can you edit/change your characters appearance after creating him/her?

I feel all RPG's of this scope should provide the player with the option of tweaking their characters appearance at any point in the game.

According to dengeki review, yes

Are the side quests more fleshed out this time around?

In the first game the background story was so superficial i just ended up hitting the A button as fast as possible to skip the text. And in the end the most of them amounted to kill/collect x amount of something.

It's better to have less but more involving ones than hundreds of shallow repetitive works.

Remember
Melancholy Tyrea?
Kizuna Quests are kind of like that in that they're quests where you see the characters (and your PC) interact with each other. It seems like there are a bunch of Kizuna Quests judging by streams (if only I could play the game myself.... Then I could explain more)

They did say more emphasis on side quest this time around, involved with the main story, also much, much more than last game.

By much, much more than last game. Do you mean there is more side quests then Xenoblade?

I think Xenoblade had roughly 400 or so side quests total.

If Xenoblade X has more than the 400 quests the previous game had, I got no problem with that. It just means I'll get another 120 or so hours out of Xenoblade X too.

They said same amount of sidequests in Xenoblade in the Iwata Asks, just that the ones in X are deeper and longer.

From Iwata Asks:

Iwata How much more depth did you put into the quests?

Kojima: Let's see...maybe 3,000% more than the previous game? Iwata 3,000 percent?! That means 30 times more.

Yokota: That's right. During the first stages of planning, we discussed increasing the number of quests by 3,000%. However, this took place before the development process, so in the end, we ended up creating a similar number of quests as in the previous game. But we did put 3,000% of our hearts into creating them...

Iwata: So you're saying that the quests are much more condensed.

Yokota: That's correct. It's very different from Xenoblade Chronicles. If based on the play time, I believe that players can enjoy the game five times longer if they try to complete everything.

Iwata: In the last game, there were the players that loved the world so much that they replayed the game over and over again and never wanted the game to end. I believe there may be even more players that'll feel the same way about this game.

Yokota: Yes. I hope the players will enjoy playing through every detail of this world, too.

Takahashi: Right. I also think we were able to express a game with a great sense of abundance. For example, the main story itself is actually shorter than Xenoblade Chronicles. But when you combine all the story elements including the side quests, the amount of text in the new game far surpasses that of the previous game.

Iwata: The two writers were able to help you with that.

Takahashi: Right, and on top of that, each of the characters became really unique. All the adventure, exploration and leveling aspects add to that, and because of that the gameplay experience will be different for each player. Even the memories that are going to be created as you play will be different, so I hope people play the game exploring those aspects.

Hope that helps!

i remember more than Xenoblade, but shorter story, but yes, more depth. edit: or maybe not.

lets see what this means, i liked that some of the sidequest were short and you were rewarded inmediatly.

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own

I also like that alot of side quests ended or started with voiced cutscenes.

I already took two days off for this game. LOL

Any way, I finished one of the side normal quest, it gives one new playable BLADE member just like Elma and Lyn, he has his unique arts, too.

thats a niche touch, i barely remember them though :p

With they way they worded it, do we need an story chapter disguised as a sidequest? because thats kind of their goal, not that the game isnt getting enough story, but what if the sidequest contain vital information to the main plot?
