Never change Nintendo, never change. Can't wait for next year's E3 announcement video. Nintendo of Europe should do one too, with Shibata and new characters. Hell, Japan should do one as well, with Iwata and Miyamoto!!!!!

I don't understand the Bill joke. He is fired, he isn't fired? I see that he posted it on Twitter too...but, I mean, what's funny about firing him as a joke?

At least Reggie knows wich Donkey Kong Country series is the best!

But on the other hand, Dumb Drum is the shittiest boss by quite some margin.

Square's hiding after the FFVII thing.

A glimpse of a real FF VII remake and see everyone moving from the Nintendo stream to Square's.

If a publisher/developer can garner as much attention as Nintendo, it's Square Enix. Square is no push over.

The joke is that Reggie fired Bill to keep the kid around since he speaks fluent Japanese and can work in localization. Bill's tweet was supposed to tie into the video but he jumped the gun.

Nintendo World Championships Headline Nintendo's Expanded Lineup at E3 2015
Online Digital Event, Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3 and Events at Select Best Buy Stores Bring More Gaming Experiences to Fans

REDMOND, Wash., May 13, 2015 – Nintendo reaches out directly to gaming fans, media and partners with a dynamic lineup for E3 2015, starting with the exciting return of the Nintendo World Championships after a 25-year hiatus. At select Best Buy locations around the country, consumers can vie for a coveted spot in the tournament finals set in Los Angeles to kick off E3 week on Sunday, June 14. Separately on Tuesday, June 16, online viewers can score the latest Nintendo news as it breaks by tuning in to the Nintendo Digital Event, followed by Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3, daily live-streamed game demonstrations from the Nintendo booth. Finally, Nintendo will deliver a piece of its E3 experience to consumers nationwide, with two hands-on sampling days of the upcoming Mario Maker Wii U game at participating Best Buy stores. This year, Nintendo will go beyond the show to deliver the E3 spirit and inside scoop to a bigger audience than ever via http://e3.nintendo.com and Nintendo’s social media channels.

“Whether you’re tuning in online or joining us at the show, we want to include fans of all ages this E3 with an innovative and nostalgic focus on fun,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “I’m especially eager to bring back the Nintendo World Championships and to crown the 2015 Nintendo World Champion.”
The E3 2015 video game trade show takes place June 16-19 in Los Angeles. Nintendo’s main events taking place during E3 include:

Nintendo World Championships 2015
On May 30, select Best Buy locations in major cities around the country will host qualifying tournaments for the Nintendo World Championships, which were last seen in 1990. The winners from each regional event, plus competitors invited by Nintendo, will meet on June 14, at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles for a multi-round Nintendo game competition. In the end, one player will be crowned the 2015 Nintendo World Champion. Fans in Los Angeles will have the opportunity to attend the tournament, while others can watch online. More details about the qualifying tournaments will be shared in the coming weeks.

Nintendo Digital Event
Once again Nintendo will deliver its main news via an online video program. The Nintendo Digital Event will start at 9 a.m. Pacific on Tuesday, June 16. Viewers will be treated to detailed information about the various games and experiences Nintendo has in store for its systems.

Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3
Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3 2015 is ready to bring fans even more in-depth coverage of Nintendo products directly from the show floor. The unscripted action delivered by the gaming experts in the Nintendo Treehouse and various game developers will be live streamed. More information about the specific times will be announced closer to E3.

Nintendo Access: Mario Maker at Best Buy
On two days during the week of E3, participating Best Buy locations will open their doors to let fans try out the upcoming Mario Maker game for the Wii U console. The game lets players have fun with friends as they enjoy playing through levels in a variety of Super Mario Bros. styles. The events will take place 4-9 p.m. local time on Wednesday, June 17, and noon-5 p.m. local time on Saturday, June 20. Attendees will receive a sweet 30th anniversary Super Mario Bros. pin while supplies last.

More information about the Nintendo World Championships, events at select Best Buy stores and other Nintendo events during E3 will be announced shortly. Keep an eye on Nintendo’s social media channels, or visit http://e3.nintendo.com.

Yeah, I thought they would add a real press conference, but since it looks like that they have nothing big to show this year its better if they do that next year.

Mario Maker seems to be the flagship game which is very sad....

Hahaha, it's like there's people like this every year.

Mario Maker being the Holiday title makes sense. If they truly flesh out the level creator and online share capabilities this should fare well.

It's an ongoing Direct joke.
Started years ago when he insulted Reggie's Japanese.

I wonder what they'll have for the World Championship. Smash, Mario Kart and Splatoon are obvious, but I'm expecting surprises.

Mario Maker at Best Buy sounds interesting, but it's not enough to make me wait in line. Maybe there'll be more?

Oh...I forgot that he spoke fluent Japanese and headed up localization. All makes sense now, thanks.

Thanks for confirming. The only big games are Zelda U (with nearly no footage) and Splatoon. Starfox seems to be a low budget game.

So in regard to game announcements, what exactly did Nintendo amazing last year? The thing that did they right was the humor and Treehouse Events, except of that it was a pretty lame E3

They also did a pretty nice Smash Bros tournament. Announced lot's of games and focused on showing each one in depth with actual gameplay instead of CG trailers wich nowadays is assure it will totally don't look like that on the final product.

The other thread was closed when I hit Post comment, so here is my actual post I wanted to post. Post.

"not my problem" pt. 2

More like "Not My Problem, Jr.", amirite?

Unrelated to that, my guess is (and I'm calling it now) that they will announce the following at their E3 stream-thingy (among other things), (reasons in italics):

- Downloadable GameCube games for Wii U (Probably a comparable promotion as with the Wii titles where the first three games are 50% off for the first week) (Reggie training with GameCubes, duh)
--- related to that my guess is the first three games will be Luigi's Mansion or Super Mario Sunshine, F-Zero GX and Pikmin (no Metroid Prime, because of MPTrilogy), price is probably $15-20 or so. (LM because it was the first GC title, F-Zero because of MK8 teasing it all over its DLC, Pikmin because there needs to be a third successful Nintendo IP that makes sense)

- Virtual Boy VC for 3DS (hopefully in grey/black, not red/black), though with only Wario Land VB, Mario Clash and something whatever who cares about any other game for Virtual Boy seriously you must be crazy if you think that there is any other good game on that thing aside from VB Wario Land (VB featured quite prominently in the video; Games are just guesses because, come on, there is nothing good on VB except for Wario Land)
--- probably at $5-7 or something, I don't know (GB(C) games on 3DS are $4-5 depending on the game, so it makes sense if VB games are just a little bit more expensive than that because it's a younger system and stuff)

- More fucking Donkey Kong (Reggie eating bananas while watching someone good play DKC)

- Also more downloadable Wii titles for Wii U (Reggie training with Wiimote+Nunchuk)

- A new Punch-Out title (Reggie wearing pink trainers, just like Little Mac)

- Still no Mother 3 for western audiences (lack of anything Mother/Earthbound related in that video)

- Nintendo World Championship 2015 (...)

So I really hope that this World Championship really means WORLD Championship in the sense of "Everywhere where you can buy Nintendo stuff" instead of "America and some people who happened to be in America at that time because America".

Gummb

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about Rayman Legends Wii U.
This could be a clever ruse to announce a new Mario game as a surprise final game like in The Wizard.

Reposting from locked thread,

I'm a foolish man who would very likely be eating crow on this, but would they actually tease possible releases like this?

Those lyrics are AMAZING!

When you're playing with power, you've gotta give it all your best
When you're training for tomorrow, there's no time to rest
And so high in the sky you will fly don't you cry
You gotta hit 'em with some zest
You're a virtual tiger on the back of a big lion
That is riding a falcon that is flying through some fire

Nintendo wins E3.

1) Wii U RAM expansion back, Retro confirmed Donkey Kong 64 Returns
2) Punch-Out!!
3) StarFox (x Platinum Games would make many a grown man weep with joy)
4) Cooking Mama
5) (This is on the tip of my tongue it sounds so familiar but I got nothing)
6) MOTHERFUCKIN' F-ZERO

It was all a joke Bill just posted it too early on Twitter!!!

The joke was used as a way for Reggie to get his job back after training and as the kid can speak Japanese then Bill no longer needs to be a translator for them!

If you belief the joke to be mean hearted due to it being about Bill being fired then lul wut...

They also did a pretty nice Smash Bros tournament. Announced lot's of games and focused on showing each one in depth with actual gameplay instead of CG trailers wich nowadays is assure it will totally don't look like that on the final product.

You guys are mixing game announcements with presentation of games announcements. It is indeed true that they did a great job on delivering the news, without going for CGI like many companys. However, that does not mean that there were a lof of game announcements.

As I stated in the post above, there were only Zelda U and Splatoon as big games.

everything

Please read my entire post.

Treehouse live is back and that's what matter, for the first time I finally was hyped all 3 days of E3 instead of conference day then it's over for us who can't go there.
Good thing if they improve it!
