I don't agree with making any sort of inflammatory early win conjecture, but it's literally one of the few peices of information we have on what's happening at E3. We are 30 days away, and GAF is deadpan to the event. It could be the Witcher 3 effect though .
Demos are great but I've always felt a good E3 is mainly about the announcements of new games, which is where it looks like MS will be lacking. I'm predicting their announcements will be limited to Gears remaster and a new Rare game.
I doubt they'll be that limited. I see them announcing Gears 4 and maybe a couple other 2017 games with CG trailers, just like they have the last two years. They'll probably have a couple small games to announce as well, Twisted Pixel and Press Play should be working on something.
I doubt anyone outside very few people know what Sony is up to at E3. This isn't the Sony of yore where they would announced God of War Ascencion, GT6, and other AAA exclusives before the event. I feel like Sony is going all in.
I'm going to try to roughly predict the two major conferences in my mind:
Microsoft
- Open with large taste of Halo 5 campaign
- Assassins Creed Syndicate
- The Division Multiplayer "Demo"
- Tony Hawk 5
- New Rare Project (very likely a proper Banjo Kazooie because someone just went ahead and did some poignant market research for them)
- New Double Fine project or some kind of smaller indie love
- Rock Band 4 Probably not with some Beatles level celebrities, but someone
- Bleszinski's "Project Blue Streak"
- Some kind of Minecraft thing that I don't care about, but will likely be huge Minecraft 2?
- Tomb Raider
- Forza 6
- Disney Infinity 3.0
- New Burnout Game!
- EA Visceral Star Wars Project
- Some bullshit with a Hollywood Director that won't go anywhere
- Gears of War
- Long shot, game changer: Occulus Rift Support / MS Facebook partnership
SONY
- Open with Battlefront gameplay. Live gameplay on stage.
- Uncharted 4 gameplay demo on stage
- Rachet and Clank
- Borderlands 3
- Fallout 4 Trailer. No gameplay, but still, some kind of Bethesda siding slightly with Sony.
- Doom 4 Gameplay...(long shot), with Morpheus support. *shots fired* (see Microsoft prediction above)
- Morpheus time. New Guerilla game focusing on Morpheus. Some kind of first person inFamous thing using move controller. Priced at $199. Available by Spring 2016.
- "The next 20 games we are showing will all have Morpheus support" (cue montage of indie games such as Adrift).
- This next game will as well...Long "No Man's Sky Demo" ...will be out Holiday 2015
- Mirrors Edge 2 Morpheus
- New Fight Night Morpheus
- Final Fantasy XV trailer
- Metal Gear Solid V
- GTA V DLC announcement
- Call of Duty Blops 3
- Crash Bandicoot's coming back!
Fallout, Doom, Mass Effect, Mirrors Edge...you really think all of them at Sony's conference. I doubt it. EA and Bethesda have their own conferences and those would be their highlights.

I always like reading the pre-E3 interviews with Shu, where he drops just a very teensy bit of hint towards the kind of 'atmosphere' that their E3 show will be.
He's not Phil Spencer, who's full of bravado and constantly talks up their reveals, but because Shu's more subtle about it, how he frames it serve as some sort of expectation for their stuff.

The problem- is this year, Sony is radio silent. I doubt they'll be blowing out titles for the Fall of this year, but I have optimism that 2016 titles will be in full effect- things we've yet to even imagine. It's such a strange thing to have the PlayStation division going from a boat of leaks to near mute.

They've always been radio silent, until they actually announce their E3 plans.
I feel like you've mistaken their PSX 'loudness' as par for the norm. The pre-PSX build-up was probably the noisiest Sony has ever, ever been at hyping up an event. Otherwise, with E3, we get an announcement, one interview with Shu where he teases their E3, and that's practically everything until day before the event itself.
I don't want this. I doubt it's a smart idea to go this route either. I expect second party partnerships similar to Insomniac's Ratchet or Remedy's Quantum Break. There is a ton of talent and mid tier development team waiting for their chance to break out.
Hopefully Sony opens their show with a new game (Horizon pls) and ends with UC4 or GoW IV. If they open with CoD and end it with Battlefront, I'm not going to be happy.
Assuming they're going first-party, I think they're more likely to open it up with Uncharted 4 and close with another big game, most likely Horizon.
I just hope Horizon gets revealed with a big gameplay trailer that actually shows us how it's going to play. None of this CGI or cutscene trailer nonsense. I'd love like a seven minute in-game trailer showing the environment, herds of docile animals and then maybe ending with a quick look at a giant Robotrex, like how Rockstar often did with gameplay trailers for Red Dead Redemption.
GoW being there isn't very likely. When he returned to SSM in August 2013 he said they were putting together a team for a new game. So there's no way it's had enough time in the oven to really show. PSX is probably the earliest possibility.

I hope so too, but Sony has a habit of doing in-engine or CGI trailers for their game debuts, from UC4 to The Order and even Bloodborne, though at least we got gameplay for that almost immediately after.
Honestly, I'm at the point now where I don't want games announced anymore unless I can play them within 12 months. They announced Uncharted 4 at a PS4 launch event in late 2013, and now it's coming early 2016, almost two and a half years after announcement. That's a bit much for me. With Sony's silence, I feel like they're starting to feel similarly.
My predictions:
Rumors put Horizon as a Spring 2016 game. They show a trailer at E3, full hands-on at PGW. Launches May.
Weren't there rumors of Bend's game being Morpheus compatible? That's early 2016
After the GT5 fiasco, Polyphony pulled the curtain on GT6 relatively close to launch, if I remember correctly. I expect them to do the same with GT7.
Cambridge? Who knows. I couldn't care less about a new Killzone, which is sad because from what I hear, this team is quite talented.
Santa Monica (and as their weak 2014 Holiday showed, Sony as well) was really thrown off by the cancellation of their major new sci-fi IP, so I don't know when to expect God of War, but I would think Holiday 2016. Another shame, because unless they put it in a new mythology, I have no interest in a new God of War.
Studio Japan won't announce Last Guardian until 3 months before release,
so they'll announce it at E3, as it comes out in September
and Gravity Rush 2 seems like a TGS game, after it was unveiled there. I would love to see their JRPG, though, and that seems like a solid Summer 2016 title. They also announce another Vita title; either Freedom Wars 2, another Soul Sacrifice, or something new entirely. Launches Holiday in Japan, Spring in the West.
Media Molecule will almost certainly pull the lid off their game at E3. If not, I expect to see it at PGW, but that's where they'll announce the Parappa game from the Sound Shapes team in collabo with MM.
I wish. That rumor got me so excited.
PixelOpus announced Entwined last year to minimal fanfare, but given the scope of that game, I can see them putting out another title this year. Launches in July.
Sucker Punch will probably tease their next title at PGW or PSX, and I bet it launches Holiday 2016. I'm 50/50 on if it's another Infamous (which I would love) or a new IP (which I would also love to see). They're a crazy talented studio, and I wish they would expand to Naughty Dog size.
XDEV will finally give dates to Rapture and Rime. Rapture launches early December, Rime in August.
Supermassive dates Until Dawn. Launches in early October, and is smothered. Studio shuts down afterwards.
Quantic announces their next title; it's based on the Kara demo and is called Singularity. Chance it's a Morpheus game, but probably not. Launches next summer.
No Man's Sky launches with Morpheus alongside Bend's game. After its success, Sony buys Hello Games.
GoW being there isn't very likely. When he returned to SSM in August 2013 he said they were putting together a team for a new game. So there's no way it's had enough time in the oven to really show. PSX is probably the earliest possibility.

I think so too. Maybe just a really short teaser showing off a new Kratos/setting without any gameplay.
Also super early PSX Prediction: Playstation Allstars 2.

More announcements than MS since most of their studios haven't announced anything, plus they haven't announced much into 2016, one new game announced will probably hit 2015 for the fall. God of War will be absent, will show up at PSX, Media Molecule will be at Paris Games Week or whatever that conference is.
I think aside from TLG, which I really do believe will show up, this is the most likely way the conferences will pan out.
They certainly could, but that doesn't seem to fit Sony's current strategy. They showed a CG trailer for Bloodborne, but they already had a playable build of it at the show. It just wasn't in the shape that they wanted it to be in to show it publicly. But it was fully playable on the show floor at gamescom and released less than a year after its announcement. There's no way GoW is going to be ready to do that.
Nope that's pretty much the only thing people are relying on. Thus people will be disappointed if they don't announce it because of their own stupidity.
The closest thing to a rumor would be if we assume that Bluepoint's March job listing was for Uncharted. It was for a "highly-acclaimed franchise on a current generation console". It was also apparently about a game that used a propriety engine. So it would fit.

But QB, Fable and even Rare can easily not make a appearances till Gamescom. You should take that in to consideration. Just because they announce a new game doesn't automatically make it 2017

MS is a non-player at Gamescom. They show up and basically do an E3 directors cut with a few downloadables/indies thrown in. The biggest, and only real notable announcement last year was that a previously announced game was now a timed exclusive. The year before that wasn't even streamed. And the 2 years before that they didn't even attend. I don't expect anything from Gamescom on their part.
We don't even actually have confirmation that they're having a conference at all. Just that they'll be there.
Lol, i can't see that happening.
Speaking of Scalebound, i hope you can create your own character, the dude from the announcement trailer looks like a douche.

My point is that they are capable of announcing or keeping things for Gamescom. Fable Legends was announced at Gamescom and first gameplay of QB was showed at Gamescom.

Phil Spencer confirmed it on Twitter. It's happening.
And I suspect they'll be smarter about it this year. I could see some 'gameplay reveal' and more 'smaller game reveals' be reserved for Gamescom, instead of having only Quantum Break (gameplay reveal) and Screamride last year.
It's kind of sad that most of the games I want announced are remasters. Uncharted, Mass Effect and Ratchet Future Saga are the ones I want. I might get 2 out of the 3.
Thuway and others see Microsoft "winning" E3 but want counts as a win? People look for different things so a win for one person is nothing to another.
I consider it a win when they announce a lot of new games we haven't heard of before. So I don't see Microsoft winning because most of their stuff has been announced and we knew these games existed before last Christmas.
Lol, i can't see that happening.

1. We know who the developers are
2. Over the last year, there has been many photos of MS guys in Japan or Platinum guys in the U.S
3. Even tho the games hasn't been talked about, it has been talked about a lot.

A former member of the press and coworker of some very notable figures at SCE (Dan Shu, Nick Suttner, Shane Bettenhausen). Before you take his quote to the moon, I doubt he would know everything and I doubt he has any idea of what tricks Microsoft has up their sleeves.

There is no winning or losing because like yourself, people have different definitions.
To me, showing games that I won't play anytime soon isn't that exciting versus showing games I'll be able to play within 6-12 months
MS can come out and throw Halo, 2 gears games, Forza, fable, scalebound, quantum break, crackdown,Rare, tomb raider, all gameplay videos and people would still say meh.
