WWE 2K14 was released on PS3 and Xbox 360. WWE 2K15 was released on PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. I suspect that much of the bump has to do with people saying "Well, I haven't bought a wrestling game in a while and now that I have a PS4/X1, may as well get the latest one..."

Good for Borderlands, though. I might hop into THC when the price gets low enough. The Tales series is fantastic as well, currently my GOTY.

"Building off the success of our approach to WWE 2k15, we've decided to add even more match types that are physically in the game, but the user can't select them.
People asked for traditional Survivor Series 8 or 10 man tag team matches and scaffold matches, I'm pleased to confirm that they're both in the game, but will not be present on any menu. We look forward to players having the match appear randomly in our award winning "we have nothing for you" career mode and then never again."

Borderlands sold 8 million since April!? They weren't even full sequels. I am really surprised how successful the series is. Is this including Tales from the Borderlands?
.Its genuinely a shame WWE 2k15 sold so well, given how many features were stripped out over previous years.
The return of a player driven career mode is welcome, but at the cost of so much customisation, so many match types, no create a diva, no custom entrance music. Its a real shame, and increased sales will only push them to half ass it again.

Borderlands remaster sold 8million?
All titles in the franchise sold in 8m units over the past 12 months. (Apr 14 to Mar 15).
They haven't done a good game in 10 years. It won't magically happen now.
I'm assuming pre sequel last gen numbers are in there too.

I can't even be mad that people keep propping Yuke's up even though the product is terrible because I prop WWE Network up even though the modern product is terrible. In my defense, I usually watch old WCW and WWF PPVs and NXT whereas I can't see anything good about the Yuke's WWE games at this point at all.
I went back to Revenge and No Mercy a few months ago. I'm throwin' my hands until Yuke's makes a good game that plays at least somewhat like a realistic sim and has loaded features.

I played wwe2k15 on PC after not watching wrestling since the 90s and not playing a WWE game since No Mercy. It's actually really fun but the ring is constantly glitching out.

Obviously more platforms are responsible. Still it kind of sucks because 2K14 was a much better game. 2K15 cut out so many features, lowered the roster a lot and had way too much DLC.

I'd like to think those sales would inspire some company to take a chance and create an alternative wrestling game. Something that doesn't try to reach for full graphical realism but instead focuses on the actual gameplay.
