Hey guys; I've been lurking this thread for years and have always wanted to contribute. I got a place a year ago but have never felt ready to show it off until now. Some of these shots were not done under optimal lighting so I apologize in advanced. I may redo them soon. Imgur Album

FIVE THOUSAND SQ FT?!? That's insane! Really interesting setup. So is there any privacy or is it all just open space? It is a little hard to tell from the pictures. If there are bedrooms, are they closed off from one another?

Wow. Where is this?

KC MO

Nice. You don't see many urinals in residential homes.
That is correct you don't; that's actually a men's bathroom the women's bathroom has a shower.

Yes it's pretty much insane; the bar area is the main room and the green doors you can see in some of those pictures are separate rooms. Also there is an unfinished wall in the same room at the bar with a door that also leads to a bedroom. We have an entire floor and with the pillar supports the floor has 15 sq sections; 3 of those are sections are bedrooms and they are completely walled off. Originally my 1st roommate and I had a door between our rooms; we put a second wall between our rooms to convert that area to closets.

Oh wow, well done sir, well done. Kinda makes me wish for the bachelor life style (Hope the wife doesn't see this).

Ah so it was a commercial building but left the fittings in. That'd be an awesome (but expensive I'd imagine) place to own as if you tidied it up and spent some money it'd look like a million bucks. If you don't mind me asking what's the rent worth?

My current setup.

All of my retro consoles are in storage now.

How comfy is that green chair Sky Chief with the footstool? Also does it fold up and how much? Looks like something I could do with rather than pulling the sofa forward.

It's amazing, I've had it since college. Basically the entire pillow portion comes off and the frame folds up. Not sure where I bought it but I've seen similar chairs around, highly recommended.

That Xbox 360 in such a snug place with no ventilation is giving me a panic attack, haha. PT-RROD-SD (Post Traumatic Red Ring of Death Stress Disorder).

Correct, this specific floor is actually one of the nicer ones. At one time it was a modeling studio, church missionary housing, event venue (fancy diner party rental,) and a interior decorator studio (they built mock setups in the large area which we tore down.)

It actually was very dirty with lots of trash inside when we moved in and the kitchen was non-existent. We negotiated some free months of rent to do the work and relocate immediately. After that we've made a few small improvements for comfort but we will never get our money back so its a pit; and most likely none of us will be here in a couple of years.

Total Monthly Expenses including everything vary from 1.9-2.2k monthly (large utility and service fluctuations.)

Yeah that's fair enough, no way I'd be putting my own money into a rental. That's a lot less then I would have thought. Just quietly if I had that kind of space I'd so be putting in a mini ramp.

I've done a ton of downsizing with my setup. Ditched the 5.1 setup to be replaced by a TV with larger speakers inside of it, a wireless subwoofer, and a pair of wireless Sennheiser RS 185s (which I love). Sort of basic, clean, and simple. I'd like to get a white Ps3 to sit next to my white Ps4.

Apologies for my terrible pictures, but I used an old iPad. My set up is nowhere near as nice as some peoples here, infact it's just a basic stand, with two consoles and a TV lol. I'll be picking up an Xbox one soon to complete the current gen "collection"

I really wish a) I had a decent camera and b) I could actually take a picture that does this tv justice. At times it's like looking through a window.... Gaming is incredible on the Oled. Colourful games on the wii u really pop off the screen too.

Nice TV! What model/size?

It's only the 1080p model. 55EC9300. But as I use it primarily as a gaming display 1080p is more than good enough for me. 4k would be wasted on me.

I can't put into words how incredible it is gaming on an Oled display. I'm really happy with it.

Is that Project Cars?

Beautiful set-up, btw.

I'm not going to post mine because it's nothing special in comparison to these. My room also has terrible lighting right now. I just have an old Sharp 42" LC42D62U TV, which is still kicking it, and consoles. I don't feel like buying a new TV right now.

This is awesome! Especially for Midtown. I'm just a couple of blocks away from you (Summit/ Valentine) and I just built a theater setup in my place that I'm pretty proud of. Will post pics later.

Same here.
Especially the OP's setup. Such a great place he/she lives in.

I need to win a lottery or something lol
We're not here to shit on anyone's setup, I love looking at all of them: big, small, expensive, cheap. I don't care. A setup is something personal, it's about character. I say post whatever you have.

Loving all of your setups. My wife and I just agreed today on the purchase of our new/1st home and I have a room in mind for a designated gaming/media room setup.

I'm interested in potentially going with the projector/screen setup - so any of you guys that have gone through that process have any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I have the lower level in our place, so that is where I have my setup.

39noIYq.jpg

Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 (Bloodborne cover), receiver, Xbox 360 HD DVD player, Retron5, and Wii U. All my consoles are on a wired connection.

m934XSJ.jpg

I use my 42" TV for mostly watching shows and movies, but I do have it connected to my receiver via an HDMI switch in case when I want to game on it. On the right, I have my cable box connected via HDMI to my Xbox One, as well as component to my TV when I am gaming on my desk monitor.

LcXuVhj.jpg

I browse the web on the Samsung on the left, and game on the 24" ASUS on the right. Like my TV, I also have it connected to the HDMI switch so I can easily go between the two. My mousepad is a custom Phantasy Star Online pad I ordered years ago. My computer is nothing fancy.

Charging table ;)

Current generation games shelves. And my collection of amiibo. The clear cases next to the Wii U games are my N64 games. Hitman is PS3 obviously, but love showing off the CE editions. The ones on the top right is COD: Ghosts for Xbox One and Destiny for PS4.

Wii, Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PS3 games.

Just got my build completed today. The shelves and bookcases are custom made to fit around the fireplace.

Xbox One
Xbox 360
Kinivo 5-in-1 HDMI switch
Panasonic HTE SC180 soundbar
SKY+
Samsung UE55H6200
PS3 slim - 500 GB HDD
PS4 - 1TB HDD

Nice setup! Your TV wall is practically begging for a projector screen!!!

It wouldn't work, because there is a large light fixture hanging down from the roof by some three feet, it would obstruct the projector.

I am looking for some cool posters to put either side of the TV for now.

setup_by_lightningtremlett-d8k8l5x.jpg

My old setup for reference, the stand makes the TV look huge, but it was a damn mess behind that thing the wires were a tangled nightmare and it also obstructed the fireplace and took away floor space.

Do you need steps to insert discs? :p

Thankfully not, the shelf sits at just over 7 feet off the ground, I'm 6'3 so I can get discs in and out easily enough. I actually had this measured so the self is within reach beforehand for this very reason.

That said going to be pain in the ass when one of the consoles inevitably dies (they always do in the end) and I have to get it down andhook up a replacement.

You can replace that light fixture with something less intrusive to make it work. Very easy and cheap to do.

We've considered it; but its pretty low on the list.

what model of OLED is this ? 4k or 1080?

It's a 55EC9300 so 1080p but to be honest I only have a Wii U and PS4 connected to it, and I stream Netflix, so a 4k Oled would have been completely wasted on me as all the content would just be upscaled.

The input lag on the 4k Oleds is still quite high too, whereas in PC mode I get about 35ms input lag which is ok.

Really happy with it though, never fails to impress me.
