You will be able to use PS3 sticks on PS4 for Ultra Street Fighter 4

As someone shit at fighting games can I get on OK with just my PS4 controller or is a fight stick necessary?

I never got this on PS4 but love the old games so would like to give it a go.

It's all personal preference. There was a tournament where someone won with a PS1 controller.

Sony blocked them as a security measure.

I would love a patch for Injustice and Xrd, so no fighter is left out.
At leat Injustice is somewhat likely since NRS made it & they're already drinking the Lab Zero Kool-Aid, but we're gonna have to raise awareness for Xrd.

Awesome. Time to start saving for one. Thanks.
If you get one of the recent Hori PS4 sticks, I'd buy some Sanwa buttons to replace the ones the stick comes with. Based on my experience, the Kuro buttons aren't very good compared to Sanwa or Semitsu.

Thank you Lab Zero! :)

I'll finally be able to retire my PS3 now. Only using it for USF4.
Can't retire my PS3 just yet, it still has UMvC3 on it & I don't think Capcom has the funds to get a new contract from Marvel so that they can re-release it anytime soon.

I would hope that the press will pester them about it at the inevitable preview events anyway.
Exactly, Namco will likely be pressured into adding the driver regardless. Hopefully the same applies for SFV since Capcom has already set a precedent with this game.

I don't see them wanting to spend any resources on patching Injustice at this point, but I hope I'm wrong.

So it's safe to assume that everything that could work with MKX applies to Ultra as well?

I already have this game on PS3, but that is an effort worthy of reward sometime down the line, even though I'm far from my peak when it comes to SF4, and I'm spoiled raw by the way MKX plays.

Can't wait for Tuesday !!!

I need my Street Fighter fix asap and this is the perfect opportunity to practice before Street Fighter V comes out !!

Just need for this to happen with DOA5LR and BBCPE and I can retire my titan one.
Not going to happen, TN and Aksys couldn't care less

So how will EVO setup be?
As far as I know you need a PS4 controller plugged.

2 DS4 with an USB hub for the PS3 sticks?

That's only how it works wtih MKX. Ravidrath says it's because of how controllers are tied to profiles. It's NOT how it will work with skullgirls.

We'll have to wait and see.

And regardless, EVO setup will be, bring your own stuff. If you want to use a ps3 stick, bring the pad to sync with it as well.

Wowowowow... To be honest I wasn't expecting this. I've always said I'd quadruple dip if it allowed ps3 sticks... Time to put my money where my mouth is... Good job Capcpom

Edit: now will we see this support for sf5???

As Skilletor said, NRS botched the implementation of the driver. It shouldn't have been like that.

What are the chances that they won't provide DS4's when it's a known issue with MKX?

Great news!

In case Ravidrath pops in, or someone else knows, is the TEasy Dual Strike supported by the driver? I have not been able to get my stick working on MKX PS4.

I have a te1 for 360 that I wanna mod with . Was wondering if the ps360+ would work. Found some conflicting results.

EVO doesn't like using wireless controllers, anyway. Their policy has always been bring your own gear. They don't provide wireless 360 controllers for the tournament, they're not going to provide it for PS4.

If you're bringing legacy gear, bring the required stuff to make it work.

PLEEEEASE

Even a functioning mod for PC would be neat, I need this fucking song back.

There is one, I've it on my hard drive but exchanged it against the 3rd strike online edition menu music (my mod pack includes it, view my post history to find it).

Amazing news!

Although I use the Dualshock for SF4, this is good because will (hopefully) bring more players/online warriors.

Ok. Day one purchase now. I weren't willing to pay $$$ for a new stick when I have a full-Sanwa at home.

Still need PSPlus to play onilne, though?

Does anyone know if this means that Hit Box will work? I saw that Hit Box will work with MKX, hopefully it works with the PS4 USF4.

As someone who has not played MKX but will be purchasing USF4 due to the inclusion of PS3 sticks, care to elaborate a bit more?

you had to pair an arcade stick with your dualshock. So if you are using 2 arcade sticks on 1 console you need 2 dualshocks (for tournaments it was hassle till they found out how to delete a dualshock/arcade stick from the console). Lab Zero said taking that step wasn't necessary and something NRS did so we don't know if USF4 will be like that or not.

I realize that they don't but when it's a known issue that your need to have a DS4 connected for you fight stick to work, you'd think that they'd take some precautionary measures.

All over my face.
Lol, you were so pessimistic yesterday. Good stuff all round. There was no way they would not do this, the backlash would have been too big and I'm sure they want as many people to play since it's now the default platform for SF4.

<3 that stick.

Maybe. I disagree (I think the onus is on the competitor to make sure they have everything to make sure their shit is working), but since consoles come with pads, it shouldn't be too difficult a thing to have a few at EVO.
