I'm hoping this sells better than Ico. Ico was such an amazing game that had terrible sales.
Do most people agree that this was a good gameplay demo? It seems like a quiet portion of the game or just traversal from point a to point b. I dunno... I just didn't feel it was anything special. I still hold out hope and probably the most disappointing portion of the presentation was no release date. My guess is holiday of next year but yeah it was disappointing to see it again just to be left waiting when it will actually release.
Probably a similar situation to the Colossi. Fans have given them names that have sort of stuck but they are officially unnamed.
More gifs because shit I love the animation in this game.
The way different parts of the boy's body bob up and down make me think this is partially affected by inverse kinematics almost.
Trico is easily the best animated creature in all of gaming if not just flat out the best animated character full-stop. Never seen such natural expression of fear in a game character.
The stretch, the tension in his muscles, dem feathers.
The way it moves and reacts reminds me so much of my dog I swear.
No, that its name. The japanese title of the game is "Trico, the Man-eating Eagle"
I just noticed Trico seemingly looks back at the boy to make sure he's hanging on tight before initiating his running jump.
fuuuuck I hope Ueda continues to make game like this after this is done. You just can't get this type of game anywhere else.
Good GOD Almighty....More gifs because shit I love the animation in this game.

Yeah, first thing I noticed when watching the video. Trico has more personality than most human AI partners in games.More gifs because shit I love the animation in this game.
Catbird is so cute.
It's a dogbird tho
The game will revolve around the developing friendship between the boy and a giant, feathered creature, resembling a griffin, named Trico (トリコ Toriko?).[6][7] The name of the creature can be taken to mean "prisoner" (虜 toriko?), "baby bird" (鳥の子 tori no ko?), or a portmanteau of "bird" (鳥 tori?) and "cat" (猫 neko?).[8]
Toriko is the Japanese word for "prisoner"; fitting, given its initial predicament. Toriko is also a combination of the Japanese words tori (bird) and neko (cat).
And there are people thinking this is just some PS3 port LOL

I wonder if it's pet owners vs. people who don't have a pet. I don't see how a dog/cat owner could look at the video and not be immediately taken with how the animal moves. By far the most realistic representation of an animal I've seen in a game.
3.5?

I've always suspected that a large contingent of gaffers have a condition whereby they can only perceive select aspects of graphical quality, namely texture resolution and edge quality. Maybe something to do with real-time shadows as well.
This animation is next-level, game-changing shit, except it won't change anything because gamers are accepting of an extremely wide range of animation quality.
Case in point: Fallout 4. Animation in that game is objectively awful. People don't care. In fact, some people have deluded themselves into thinking that game isn't ugly as sin.

Nah, that's probably just the tutorial. I accepted way better puzzles later in the game.
We can also see the boy and trico fight armored enemies in one of the trailers.
Actually no. It's just a couple of (western) artists who helped with TLG.Look up Rime and Vane, they look pretty cool and devs said themselves they are completely inspired by Ueda's work (hell, Vane is made partly by ex- SotC employees).
Ueda has influenced so many people, we're bound to get a few indies and mid-sized title that will follow in his footsteps.
Although yes, i'd be curious as well as to what he plans to do after The Last Guardian
Trico will probably replace Agro ( that horse is still unmatched nowadays ) as the most real animal ever seen in a videogame
Look at his reaction here, where the boy jump for the first time
that expression, that posture ... Trico is really something else
sorry for the shitty loop in the gif
Flapping his wings at him telling him to 'fly' over. Seems the commands are reciprocal.
Agro was mind blowing for the PS2, but I think RDR had better horses.

Hell the whimpers reminds me straight of my dog. Psychologically, those with pets will associate this beast as a pet because it's actually animated similarly and makes similar sounds. Between this breakdown you're asking for, I would break it down further and see if either dog or cat owners see it more like a pet.
Thank you for calling it by it's RIGHT name! And yeah, Trico reminds me so much of my cats it literally kills me. Like I don't know how in going to be able to handle it getting hurt lol
I can already feel myself becoming completely sick of that kids repetitious call to the griffin it already annoying the shit out of me and there is no way I can cope with that for the whole game it's enough to make me not want to buy it.
