This forum has been so disappointing to me recently. Literally the only reason I came to this forum was to avoid things like this that are going on in this thread and now it's a common occurrence across the entire damn forum. A shame.

I already posted my history with 343. Ill also include the fact that 343 blocking of a refund for halo mcc for its fans who couldnt access any part of the game, which led to my xbox account being banned because apparently asking for a refund for the same game to 2 different xbox reps is grounds for a ban.

Ill add that "Frankie" disappeared as soon as shit hit the fan with the release. And the marketing team on Twitter disappeared from release well into January.

If ubisoft or Bungie, or Kojima did this, Neogaf would break.

Don't forget that updates for the still broken MCC have slowed to an absolute crawl even after multiple claims that the MCC team is separate from the H5 team and Halo 5 has no affect on MCC updates...

There are a lot of people that have never played Halo (or played it very little) just here to talk crap about it. It sucks but it is what it is.


Makes it hard to have any discussion.

I played Halo 2 and 3 with my little brother on his 360, but I've never owned an xbox console of my own. I know how passionate people are about Halo though.

This entry seems very divisive with customers. Quite a few very excited folks. Some very disappointed folks regarding the split screen stuff.

Those should ENHANCE the story, not complete it. The main narrative that is unmissable should still feel rewarding and whole.

That said, I'll echo my concern that it might be short, but beyond that I usually take my time with the story regardless.

I don't really care how short the campaign is, as long as what is offered is enjoyable and they do a great job fleshing out Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris. I want to love the new Spartans, and I'm dying to see John interact with Blue. I'm also really excited to see their faces. I want to see how old and hardened they all three look. Hopefully 343I does a good job with that. The legendary Halo 4 ending gives me hope.

I also want to see the Arbiter return to form. I hope he's more than a background character in this game... And I hope none of these characters are killed, especially Blue Team, although I know some major casualties must be inevitable.


The fact that this game has
Fred, Kelly, Linda, Halsey, the Arbiter, Locke, Buck, Tanaka, Vale, Lasky, Palmer, Fireteam Majestic (please die) gives me great hope that the story will be the greatest yet in the series.

People use to Halo are going to fly through it. I remember getting through CE in just a day back in like 2002.

I'm not quite sure they have people working on their story who did that. That's my problem. New comers changing things and expecting results.

Not sure about recent updates, like i said, theyve managed to get it in a fixed state, and ive given 343 props for that. I did so here and in the mcc thread in community. Had a great time playing coop and swat this week on my buddy's xbox.

They still dont have my trust. Ill eventually buy this used or 7 months after release at $20 to make sure its playable. I still love Halo, but 343 isnt my girlfriend, and i dont have to like the bullshit they keep spewing to dedicated fans like myself, or Vin.

Nah, the amount of assertions being made in Halo threads lately is borderline ban-worthy. People are straight up telling stories in their head to turn a vague statement into something specifically negative. It's frustrating.

Frankie and the other twitter marketing members did disappear.(i'm only aware of frankie posting here before and months after release, so if someone else stepped up it wasnt very apparent) Whether it was vacation, contract or whatever, they weren't transparent about the situation, and blocking refunds added to the frustration. I want Halo 5 to be good. I enjoyed the beta, even tho it feels more like cod then halo now. But 343 isnt getting my money until they prove they are competent.

It would be very ignorant to try to claim that this series isn't at a low point in its credibility, quality, and image.

Halo 5 may be what the series needs to turn things around and improve how people feel about the series but we don't know yet.

This thread is about what reads like damage control. Anytime you tell people how they should or shouldn't play a game it feels like damage control.

I think the main concern of a short campaign is.... Well how often do you get to play MC and how often do you get stuck with Locke?

If it's 5 hours, I would prefer to be MC for 4 of those hours

If it's 7 hours I would prefer to be MC for at least 5.5 hours
