$100 would be the sweet spot to increase momentum. That is what it's about at this point, increasing momentum and selling as many consoles as they can to increase the user base.

It isn't about fighting the competition, those asses have been kicked a long time ago and pose no threat.

I think that Sony should not drop the price of the PS4 and should use those extra profits to reduce the price of Morpheus to make it more accessible.

I believe the ps4 received a discount for amazon prime day thats still in effect. The batman bundle is also the only ps4 available at the moment on amazon

I think there is an army of people on the fence waiting for the PS4 price cut, no matter when it comes and no matter what microsoft does. So, if they give away the holiday season once again for profitability they will take in the harvest later.
They are in no hurry and can chose wisely.

but please don't do it too long after the tomorrow children...

I am expecting PS4 being #1, but not by much. The only notable console game last month was Sony-sponsored Arkham Knight.

Yeah this NPD is going to be boring. We know who's going to win and there doesn't appear to be any new juniors to throw their account away.

I think it could be 100k higher. The limited edition bundle was sold out at some retailers. On the Amazon monthly chart, you've got 2 separate SKUs for PS4 above the first Xbox one SKU.

Most boring NPD in a long while. After class I'm gonna just go the gym while the drive-by posters do their thing. Hopefully all the regulars will still be here when I get back.

I'm curious to know which platform sold more units of Batman. PS4 (which has an uncounted bundle) or Xbox (gave away free copy with console purchase for a week and is counted)

PS4 almost certainly. The NPD might pull a Destiny though, and show the Xbox One as having sold more.

Are we ever going to get digital sales breakdowns? This is another data point I would love to get info about. How digital sales are increasing, which platform has a higher digital download user base, etc.

I don't see Payday showing up. Would have to be a really slow month outside of the new releases for that to be in the top 10.

This will be my first NPD since becoming a junior (though a long-time lurker). I plan to make it through alive, but you know that whole mice and men thing.

Don't worry, its fine to have dissenting opinions. Not everyone is going to agree on what will sell the most or how things will perform. Just post logically and not like someone trying to spread FUD or cause drama and you'll be fine

What's your opinion of SuperData?

They seem to do a good job when it comes to creating a view of the digital landscape worldwide and they work with a number of organisations in the industry to help determine their results. They claim to have POS data as well.

From what I've seen they're good at providing a general overview but I'm not sure how accurate they are for each individual title/publisher.

True, but I'd be surprised if XB1 won even with the bundles not counting. These types of games usually skew more towards PS4. If it was a FPS(like Destiny or Hardline) I would give it a better chance. Perhaps XB1 will have the most sales of ESO though due to the brand strength on Xbox.

I have no idea who the alts are referring to, but it looks like I chose poorly (I've used Dr Bass for years though, it's my Xbox Handle and my license plate has a variation of this).

No real guesses on my part for this month in terms of numbers but I do expect PS4 to "win".

There were some people who signed up with usernames utilising various titles such as "Doctor" and ended up just posting crap on the forum.

However I remember your posts from previous threads and can say you're a good poster.
