OK. I got two basic stages set.

First one is called All-Star Bowling for Spinies!

The second one doesn't seem like much, but the lack of background does make it a bit of a challenge. I was just messing with the platforms.

The initial segment with the spring, my god. I don't think I ever could design anything like that because I don't think I could finish.



Unlocks Day 3 IIRC.

It took 4 hours, but I think I'm almost done with my first level. Let's test it now.

I know that no idea is actually new here, but my level included the spring up the wall thing as a one-off, and I was going to make another level based entirely around carrying one upwards before utilizing it for a trap. Now I feel like nobody will actually get much enjoyment out of it/see it as a lesser of the real deal found there.

I really like it now that I understood the whole first part.
You can indeed run non stop.

I made sure there's always a correct timing to take the jump in speed run or otherwise, no impossible set pieces (or need to stop in speed run), so glad to see you cracked the timing! You can either speed through that part; break the block and run underneath; wait for the opening jump; or go over the whole set piece using blocks high overhead :) There's a few skill tricks in the stage that I enjoy as well.

Did you finish the stage in 20 seconds or less?

Alright, burnt out from 100-Mario challenge. There's actually more playable levels than I thought, overall quality is better than I expected. I also think unlike LBP, the core controls and mechanics of Mario are just so fluid and enjoyable that even playing mediocre levels is still fun.

Time for some GAF levels!
 
I really wish this game had a community and / or playlist feature. Would be cool if we could aggregate all the GAF levels for example and play through all of them one after the other.
Unique IDs are fine for direct sharing but impractical for loads and loads of levels. :p

In general the social aspect could be a bit more robust but I'm secretly hoping they'll update the game over time like they did with Splatoon.
I need an app that notifies me when people play my levels even when I'm not playing. XD

I've got a few levels up. Nothing that's meant to be super hard, more trying to emulate (poorly) some of the concepts I like from levels in the original games

Despite trying to make the levels challenging, but not overly so I still seem to have a completion rate of around 15-25%, which seems low to me. Perhaps I need to make them easier?

I never thought I'd even try and make levels, but it's really fun. Constructive feedback would be much appreciated!

Most annoying are those levels that expect you to know what lurks offscreen.

I guess at the current stage in the "meta" it's better to make levels than to try the 100 Mario challenge, gotta wait for most of us to unlock all the tools and get the gimmicks out of their system so we can see more good levels.

Also is it just me or does the delay on the pipes seem exactly long enough for you to think they're harmless before something nasty comes out? Piranha plants often come out the first time when I'm right next to them.

Nah, "completion rate" counts lives vs successes, if someone dies three times before beating the level that's 25% (because he made four attempts and three of them died). You can check the list of people who played it to see who actually finished the level.
 
Lo' and behold, my first level! I actually ran out of ground blocks and had to get creative.
Using platforms in a way that doesn't let you stand in a place for too long.

Spent a lot of time in the visual, but I think the design is good as well. It introduces you both concepts separately, then joins them together in different ways.

There's 3 hidden 1-Ups in the level, hope you enjoy it!

Beat it just now, one of the jumps were very strict (Died a few times after you got the propeller mushroom and had to do the jump without hitting spikes/para)

Other than that it was manageable. :)

Took me a bit and I'm sure I did the last part right (did I really have to squeeze through a tiny hole while jumping near the pit?), but I liked it. Good idea, maybe you can finetune and expand on it.

Loved the bonus pipe. Always a good idea to put some optional stuff in a level. The level's hard, though. I think the Bowser flames is what made it a little too hard, but then again, I wouldn't remove that creepy Bowser at the end.

I think this might be a think that either only makes sense to me or is super baby easy and uninteresting.

I like the little bonus you get if you bother to backtrack to the beginning. The thwomps at the end are bit mean, though, especially the very last one in front of the pole, I couldn't even see it before it hit me.


Here is my 1st level, pretty simple and not that complicated to figure out.

I liked the idea with the trampoline, but since this is slightly off-screen, it's hard to time right and if you just hold left, you'll stop the bump mid-air and hit the piranha plants. Took me a few tries to time that right.

Finished my first level, i will admit it's a bit hard, but then again i wanted to somewhat capture the Battletoads experience.

Turbo Tunnel:

I tried to emulate the rappelling bit of the level by placing a vine, you need to wait a bit at first so the vine goes up there are 3 sections of "descending" and then the actual turbo tunnel.

For the second rappelling section it helps if you kill the first koopa while kicking your buzzy beetle

Heh was playing through yours already. I like the use of decoration with the vines and such. Not sure how you're suppose to get to that warp pipe. I will say the final section is frustrating since it's really easy to die there and the finish is right in sight. Not really a bad thing, except the level itself seems to requires a lot of patience, and it sucks to go cautiously throughout the stage then die to some meatboy stuff.

Alright guys. I've made a level called Basic Objects because I'm only using basic objects in it. Check it out :)

Let me know what you guys think !!! The main idea of this stage is that even though it's short, there are always multiple ways to get through the obstacles :) Also note that there is 50 coins in this level. Try your best to get them all !

Hello guys, I am currently at Tokyo. Advertisements of this game are everywhere. I once see children freaking out in front of the TV displaying the ads, and telling their parents to get the gwme. Oh boy... I also want to play it after looking at your impressions. I will get it as soon as I return to my country.

First up, "Easy World" is currently at 2 stages. I was aiming for a difficulty level around the general World 1 level to give people a nice stage to play, but each level has its secret areas :)

Outside flames from Bowser are a pain in the vertical segment because they're in a blind spot. I'd also add some sign for the invisible block at the start.

The warp pipe is pretty tricky to get - there's a vine that leads you to it hidden (there is a hint on the map though). As for the final segment, I went back and forth in putting it. I didn't have a lot of trouble in my attempts but they were also close calls.

I may drop the lower saws to give more leeway but there is a vine you can grab if you wanna skip that section.

E: 2nd door was a bit unfair. Coming out I'm greeted with sensory overload and Bowser jumps, so his spikes will kill you if you try to head to the blocks (which is what is the apparent safe zone).

The blooper part is suppose to be tough, there's a hidden star in the end of the warp section that negates that whole section. I should make it visible.

I'm not that good at Mario games, missed it =P.

I tired to make it as similar as possible. I think I came close. I had to add a few little things and changed a few things. I put secrets in most of the key locations if you can remember where those were and some rewards for exploring. It's better than my take on the first level I kinda broke it when I started adding enemies. I thought I did the same on this one but it looks like this one is a lot more playable and a lot easier especially if you just run through without exploring.


Man you're level is hard! I like it a lot though good job! I didn't finish it but I'm going to come back to it tomorrow.

At least you can select multiple blocks at once, but it really is hard to just insert something new in the middle.
I thought the length was fine, since it takes a bit to understand what you have to do.

The first level I didn't finish. I guess it's true to the Battletoads spirit. The first part is a lot easier if you just ignore the vines (using the shell as a helm it's easy to get through). But the part with the spikes is what kills me, the timing on the first koopa seems off, I missed it way too often. The other parts seemed fine (as far as I got, which was the jumping section with multiple koopas), but since getting there is hard enough I didn't get many tries.

I really should go back to the concept. 'Twas my first level and the first batch of objects alone didn't inspire much creativity.

Actually, if you go left after exiting the pipe, the ride really doesn't end. Until the time limit, of course.
