Different parts of the year will be like that for every console. I doubt Xbox one owners had anything exclusive to play for the first 9 months of the year while Sony had probably one of the greatest games of all time in Bloodborne. Until Dawn ( I have not played it ) was also apparently good. If Order did not turn out to be a turd then it could been a decent year.
And what about the rest of us that really LOVE Kratos?

You're allowed to love him although I would like to hear why. I just disagree. The only thing I would say I like about him is his cool visual design.
It's fine to like one dimensional characters, I don't need a character to be complex to like them.
I love his visual design and I think he's just cool and epic, and I love him on his vengeful 'no fucks ' rampage. I don't really need anything else.
The xbone had nearly no first party releases for most of the year until now.
And if we take third partties into account the ps4 has even more games especial for JRPG. Of course those games could not appeal to you.

Kratos has always had an obsessive fan base. Everything from his design, to the Blades of Chaos, his tragic story altogether. It's always been interesting to me that I don't know how to feel about him, to feel bad or feel like he's taken shit too far. It's really the reason I love him as a character. The only thing I don't like about recent Kratos is his dialogue. I do wish they'd write better things for him to say, like in God of War 1 and 2. But that's about it. I love him.
A new God of War from Cory is one of the greatest things that could happen to gaming right now. God of War 2 is one of the best sequels, and one of the best games, ever made.
Shhhh, people like to pretend this isn't true.

That's fine for you to like him, and I don't mind one dimensional characters in concept either. Just in a game with a decent story focus I'd like there to be more depth. The bigger problem is that he's written badly IMO and that one dimension about him is really unlikable. Again that's just my personal feelings you can have whatever opinion you what.
The "many others" is in reference to the many people I have seen on GAF, social media, and other gaming sites that say they really don't want the next God of War to have Kratos. I know I'm not in the majority with all the God of War fans that exist, but I'm not pulling the opinion out of my ass.

All three Uncharted games were fucking terrible, there is no getting around it. The gameplay for all three games was not good at all, it's the one series where I played all three because there was so much hype behind them. But TLOU showed this studio still has the ability to release quality like they did in the PS1 days, I am incredibly excited for UC4 due to that.
Yep, it's been a totally shit year for me gaming wise. The last game I played was a couple hours of Batman in June, not touched a game since. 2016 is going to be great for me though, there is little chance Horizon and UC4 will be pushed into 2017 which has me very excited. PD, Sucker Punch and MM (by FAR my three most fav studios in gaming) will hopefully be releasing their next games soon enough so it's just a case of waiting. Mirrors Edge is my most anticipated 3rd party but this year, it's Star Wars filth for special kinds of people and Black Ops 3 which looks decent enough.
Sony have taken a lot longer than I could have ever expected for their first parties to release even one game at this point. I find it pretty incredible that Kaz Yamauchi, clinging onto any kind of relevancy, has yet to announced GT. I got the fucking console for GT7 yet two years after the console released I still know nothing about it.
Yeah, but you make it sound like you're actually the arbiter of quality.
And obviously that is not the case, nor are you representative of the console market. Nor are you sane in your brain.

I guess I'm kinda excited about the Bloodborne DLC, but I doubt that will hold me off for very long. I really don't like Call of Duty or Fallout, and after Unity I swore off the Assassin's Creed series. *shrug
Gonna pick up an Xbox tomorrow I think for Tomb Raider and Halo 5.

Yeah I've seen some posts here and there calling for a reboot with a different character but it's really not as popular an opinion as it sounds, even on gaming forums, which are all vocal minorities, and especially on the GOW boards I haven't seen any fans calling for a new protagonist. I'm not against it. But I do see why the fans love the shit out of him as well.
After 3's cliffhanger-ish ending, I want to interpret it as
Yes, he's finally out of his misery, and finally got to jump off.
Would it be more interesting to see a new character with a new story? Probably.

What games are you playing now on PS4 just for curiosity sake? Maybe you could give me some ideas.
I beat MGSV, Batman AK, Destiny TK and played a ton of Rocket League. I still have the Witcher 3 to beat, but I don't think I'm ever going to get around to it to be perfectly honest since I didn't really like it.

Until Dawn and Tearaway Unfolded, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and/or The Vanishing of Ethan Carter if you like "walking simulators". Judging by the impressions in the OT, AC Syndicate seems to actually be fun again, even coming from people who hated Unity.

It's a mixture of current and slightly older titles. I'm juggling Until Dawn, Tearaway, FFX/X-2, Disgaea 5, Dragon Quest Heroes and Uncharted Collection right now.
I usually couple this with TLOU multiplayer and Ultra Street Fighter 4 online for the competitive kinda needs.

I don't really like remasters in general, I have no interest in going back and playing Uncharted, Tearaway or FFX for the umpteenth time. Not to discredit any of these games though, they are all fantastic - I've just played them and have great memories of them already.
I'm not big on anime styled JRPG's nor QTE styled story based games so I don't think I'd like Disgaea or Until Dawn very much.
It's all good though, thanks for the ideas.

It was not exactly a leap of faith to say GT7 would be announced from PD, but I am very surprised they have not said fuck all yet. Yamauchi too busy living the good life than doing work it seems. The games this year have been rubbish through and through, your avatar reminded me of the most overrated piece of shit to come out in 2015. The combat, holy shit I didn't think it could actually be that bad. I mean it's a fucking game, the clue is in the name, get the fucking gameplay to a half decent level.
Fallout 4 looks like the same old shit and should be in playable form by this time next year for the people into those games. Black Ops MP could be fun but yeah, Halo 5 looks lovely and if I was into the franchise, it would be the reason for getting an XB1. Assassins Creed peaked at 2 but damn when this franchise was good it was very good. I completely forgot that next year we will also be able to finally play The Witness, the first half of 2016 alone is going to be far and away better than the whole of 2015 IN MY OPINION.

How is it not a matter of Sony disappointing me? They did, I didn't like their lineup this entire year outside of Bloodborne.
You seem to continue to miss the point, it's about disappointing me personally. Go read my first post. I said "Sony has really disappointed me this year, I feel like I have nothing to play this fall unless I get an Xbone since I don't give a shit about the annualized cookie cutter Assassins Creed's and Call of Duty's."
